Additionally, one reviewer mentioned that some of the seasonal guest sites were a bit "trashy," but they also acknowledged that this is something to be expected at campgrounds that offer both seasonal and short-term stays. However, the overall cleanliness of the common areas and the positive interactions with other guests seem to outweigh this minor concern for most visitors.

Lawrence Creek Campground Reviews
We really enjoyed our stay here. I had communicated with John, the owner, early in the week and he was quick to respond to my email. We were able to check in early around noon. Our spot was a premium spot right along the creek, site 9. We had a deck that over looked the creek which was very nice. The site it’s self was pretty level, only requiring a small amount of side to side leveling. We had both 30 and 50amp as well as standard 120v. No issues with the power at all. Water pressure is a bit high so be sure you bring a regulator. The campground itself was surprisingly quiet, no issues with rowdy/loud campers. I believe mostly everyone that was there with us were seasonal guests. Everyone that we encountered was very nice and friendly. The shower/bath house was very nice and clean. The campground was very well kept. We walked along some of the trails, I believe they’re for ATV’s but they made for an easy walk along the river bank with some beautiful views. I unfortunately did not bring a pole but the creek that the campground is located on was very active with wildlife, I would think it would be very good fishing. We saw several turtles and even a few beavers. We did do some kayaking on the creek which was great. The bar looked very cool. We didn’t have a chance to grab a drink but they had a very good selection, the atmosphere was great. It was a great trip to kick of the 2023 camping season. The owner takes a lot of pride in his business and it shows. He was pleasant to deal with a very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. The only negative I can think of is that a train comes by 2-3 times a day. It never appeared to be super early or late and always short, but it can catch you off guard. Some of the seasonal guest sites are a bit “trashy” but you come to expect that any where that offers seasonal and short term visitors. We also visited Baker Bird Winery for a bourbon and wine tasting, it was very good and only 10 minutes away. The city of Maysville is also very close.

May 24, 2023 · Jessica CampbellOne of the best RV parks we've lived in. We've been traveling the country for 5 years and have lived in many different places. John, the owner, is friendly and runs a clean park. He is attentive, kind, and respectful while being non judgemental. Access to hiking trails along the creek and river are great. We enjoyed walking our dogs and picnics along the river. The bar was an awesome bonus. Good drinks and pizza 100 feet from our site. Can't go wrong ya'll. Don't miss out on all the historic buildings and places surroundingMaysville. It's definitely one of our places to revisit a d enjoy.
Mar 17, 2025 · Bryan JonesThis place is truly a hidden gem along Lawrence Creek and the Ohio River. The owner John is very friendly and hospitable. It's a smaller campground with average size sites with full hookups. No wifi available from the campground. A couple of the sites by the water have nice little private decks that overlook the creek. No picnic tables at the sites, but there's a decent size pavillion in the middle of the grounds, and there are some really cool areas to relax along the trails that run by the water. I highly recommend walking the main trail all the way to it's end, but it is a good little hike. There's an awesome little spot to hang out overlooking the Ohio River. The price is very reasonable. There's a washer and dryer on site that do a good job. Very high water pressure and good quality water. The tavern is really nice, open on weekends, pool table, and offers some basic food options which is nice when you don't feel like cooking or going out. It's just a short drive into Maysville though, but far enough out to feel like true camping. Very close to the power plant. The only possible drawbacks for some is a train that runs close by frequently which might bother some people, and if you go during spring when there's heavy rain the trails can flood for a few days at a time which eliminates some of nice features of this park. This is a clean park, but sadly when the water recedes after heavy rains, you can see some trash along the trails left behind from the water pollution. This does not reflect on the park, it is just a sad part of our reality these days. Overall, we loved our stay here and will be back again for sure.
May 02, 2023 · AngelaMy husband and I have been looking at seasonal sites for the last few years. We decided to get a little more serious this year. We searched the internet for about a week and compiled a list. I sent out communication to everyone on the list to start creating the short list. We stopped and simply drove by several campgrounds today. After meeting one of the new owners John I knew this would be the seasonal for us. My husband was finally convinced as well. I am so looking forward to spending our 2021 camping season here. By the way my first reply came from Lawrence Creek which started the process of moving them to the top of the short list. I apologize I only took photos of the site we are renting because I was so side tracked. I will get additional photos this spring and update this review. They will probably look better with the spring blooms anyway.Edit version: We arrived yesterday and I am very satisfied from our first night experience. We walked the trail this morning and walked around the site (which is small but nice). I added updated photos and removed the ones that were in repair from previous visit.
