Leavis Flat Campground Introduce
Welcome to Leavis Flat Campground, nestled at 41849 Hot Springs Dr, California Hot Springs, CA 93207, USA. As a highlighted destination within the "Camping Near Me" category, Leavis Flat Campground offers a promising retreat for local users seeking a picturesque and relatively uncrowded camping experience. Based on the available online reviews, this campground boasts beautiful scenery and convenient amenities for a relaxing outdoor getaway.
One enthusiastic reviewer recounts their positive experience, mentioning that a friend introduced them to the location just a couple of weeks prior to their review. So impressed were they by their initial visit that they decided to return with a larger group of friends. This suggests that Leavis Flat Campground offers an environment conducive to both small and larger gatherings, fostering a sense of shared enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
The reviewer specifically praises the "beautiful scenery" of the campground, indicating that visitors can expect visually appealing natural landscapes. This could include features such as the surrounding terrain, vegetation, or views of nearby geographical attractions. The presence of beautiful scenery often enhances the overall camping experience, providing a serene and inspiring backdrop for outdoor activities and relaxation.
In terms of amenities, the reviewer highlights the presence of "BBQ pits." This is a significant feature for campers who enjoy cooking outdoors and adds to the traditional camping experience of grilling meals in a natural setting. BBQ pits provide a designated and safer area for open-flame cooking, making it convenient for campers to prepare their favorite dishes while enjoying the outdoors.
Furthermore, the review mentions "some nice river action." This strongly suggests that Leavis Flat Campground is located near a river that offers opportunities for various activities. "River action" could imply possibilities for swimming, fishing, or simply enjoying the sights and sounds of flowing water. River access is often a major draw for campers, providing both recreational opportunities and a soothing natural ambiance.
Another notable aspect mentioned by the reviewer is that the campground is "not too bit of a spot but it doesn't seem to be packed most of the time." This is a significant advantage for campers who prefer a more tranquil and less crowded environment. Overcrowding can detract from the natural experience, so a campground that typically offers a sense of spaciousness and privacy is highly desirable for many outdoor enthusiasts.
The second piece of information provided is simply "These are before and after pictures of our campground." While this statement itself doesn't offer specific details about the campground's environment, services, or features, it implies a visual transformation or perhaps highlights improvements made to the campground over time. Unfortunately, without access to these pictures, it's impossible to describe the nature of these changes or their impact on the overall camping experience.
Considering its listing under "Camping Near Me," Leavis Flat Campground appears to be a promising destination for local users seeking a natural escape in the California Hot Springs area. The combination of beautiful scenery, the amenity of BBQ pits, access to a river, and the likelihood of a less crowded atmosphere makes it an attractive option for various types of campers, including families, groups of friends, and individuals seeking a peaceful retreat.
The mention of "river action" suggests potential for water-based recreational activities, which can significantly enhance a camping trip. Whether it's fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water's edge, river access provides a unique and enjoyable element to the outdoor experience. The presence of BBQ pits further supports a traditional camping experience centered around outdoor cooking and shared meals.
The fact that the campground is described as "not too bit of a spot but it doesn't seem to be packed most of the time" is a significant selling point for those who value tranquility and space. A less crowded campground often allows for a more immersive and peaceful connection with nature, free from the noise and congestion that can sometimes occur at more popular locations.
The reference to "before and after pictures" hints at a potential ongoing effort to maintain or improve the campground. If these pictures were available, they might provide valuable insights into the care and development of the facilities and the natural environment of Leavis Flat Campground. Potential visitors might find it beneficial to inquire if such pictures are publicly available online or through the campground management.
For local users searching within the "Camping Near Me" category, Leavis Flat Campground offers a compelling combination of natural beauty, essential amenities, and a potentially serene atmosphere. The positive recommendation from a returning visitor further attests to its appeal. While specific details about services such as restroom facilities, water access, or specific campsite types are not provided in the reviews, the overall impression is that of a well-regarded and enjoyable camping destination.
In conclusion, Leavis Flat Campground in California Hot Springs appears to be a great option for those seeking a scenic and relatively uncrowded camping experience. Its beautiful scenery, BBQ pits, river access, and the positive feedback from a repeat visitor make it a noteworthy listing under "Camping Near Me." Local users looking for a relaxing outdoor getaway with opportunities for river activities and BBQing should consider Leavis Flat Campground as a potential destination. Further inquiry might be beneficial to gather more specific details about the campground's amenities and any recent improvements suggested by the "before and after pictures."

Mar 29, 2025 · Estella GiuntoliWe were out there last summer. nice little campground right off the road, if you're driving to fast you'll miss it. Overall everything was good but I had some expectations that weren't met but that was just me. For some reason I though we'd be able to swim in the creek but the water is very shallow; all we could do was sit on the rocks. Watch out for the meat bees they're everywhere. Self pay, no showers, no running water (besides the creek) quiet. It was nice to hear the water flowing at night and the critters near by very relaxing and soothing. Pack what you need there's a small shop up the road, a bit pricey but will do in case of an emergency. There is dirt everywhere, but then again your camping so... Would definitely go again probably just for the hike, it's a good place to disconnect.
Apr 11, 2019 · Lucia ApdacaSmall campground just off the road with Deer Creek running right at the edge. Stayed here in April with the Mrs. & doggie. Be prepared with cash to pay your daily fees, as there is just a self check-in station. Nice spot that we enjoyed and will visit again. 😎
