Lelah Bradley Park Campground Introduce
For local users in and around Centerville, Iowa, searching for "camping near me," Lelah Bradley Park Campground, located at P477+XC in Centerville, IA 52544, offers a camping experience with notable features and generally positive feedback from visitors. Based on the available reviews, this campground provides a scenic environment, clean facilities, and unique amenities, making it a potential option for those seeking a local outdoor getaway.
The environment of Lelah Bradley Park Campground is a significant draw, with one reviewer specifically mentioning the "beautiful view of the lake in some of the spots." This suggests that certain campsites offer picturesque vistas of a nearby lake, enhancing the overall camping experience and providing a tranquil backdrop for relaxation. The presence of a lake also implies potential opportunities for water-related activities, although these are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. The campground itself is described as "small" and arranged in a "circle," which could foster a sense of community among campers but also means closer proximity to neighbors, potentially impacting privacy.
The services and facilities at Lelah Bradley Park Campground receive commendation for their cleanliness. Multiple reviewers highlighted that the "showers and bathrooms are very clean," which is a crucial aspect for a comfortable camping experience. The shower house is noted as being "quite large," suggesting ample space for users. Interestingly, the showers are described as being like "rooms" and operate with a "push button that mists a warm spray." While this is considered a unique feature, one reviewer pointed out that it "may take a while to get all the soap off" due to the misting nature of the spray. However, they also noted a potential benefit: the spaciousness allows parents to assist small children without getting fully wet. It's important to be aware that the showers are exclusively for campers and may not be accessible late at night. Another practical service mentioned is the provision of fire pits equipped with a "nice attachment for cooking," allowing campers to easily prepare meals over an open fire.
The campground operates on a self-registration system. Upon arrival, campers fill out a "register paper" and deposit $15 (the reported average cost for camping) in an envelope, tearing off a receipt to place at their campsite pole. This system seems straightforward and relies on the honesty of campers. The presence of a campground host "camped at the check in" suggests that assistance and information are readily available upon arrival.
The features of Lelah Bradley Park Campground include the lake views from some sites, the clean and relatively large shower house with its unique misting showers, and the fire pits with cooking attachments. The small, circular layout of the campground, while potentially limiting privacy, could also be seen as a feature that promotes a friendly atmosphere. The self-registration process is another characteristic of this campground. However, one potential drawback mentioned by a visitor who didn't stay due to the campground being full is that the campsites offer only a "small space for your rv, camper or tent," which might be a consideration for those with larger vehicles or extensive camping setups.
Promotional information is somewhat limited but can be inferred from the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews. The "awesome place to camp" sentiment, coupled with mentions of clean facilities and lake views, serves as a positive endorsement. The average cost of $15 per night positions Lelah Bradley Park Campground as an affordable option for local camping. The unique misting showers, while having a specific operational style, are presented as a notable feature. The cooking attachment on the fire pits adds value for those who enjoy campfire cooking. These elements, combined with the reported cleanliness, make Lelah Bradley Park Campground an attractive option for local users seeking a budget-friendly and well-maintained camping experience with scenic views.
However, potential campers should also consider the limitations mentioned. The close proximity of campsites due to the circular layout might not appeal to those prioritizing privacy. The unique misting showers might require a different approach to rinsing. The small size of the campsites could be a constraint for larger camping setups. Additionally, the fact that one visitor found the campground full suggests that it can be a popular destination, especially during peak seasons, and advance planning might be necessary to secure a spot.
For local users interested in Lelah Bradley Park Campground, it would be beneficial to gather more information about the lake access and any specific rules or regulations of the park. While a phone number is not provided in the initial message, the address (P477+XC, Centerville, IA 52544, USA) can be used to search for the campground online or through map services, potentially yielding more details and contact information. Checking local Centerville tourism resources might also provide additional insights into Lelah Bradley Park and its campground facilities.
In conclusion, Lelah Bradley Park Campground in Centerville, IA, offers a local "camping near me" option with the appealing features of lake views from some sites, very clean bathrooms and showers (albeit with a unique misting system), and fire pits equipped for cooking. The average cost of $15 per night suggests affordability. However, potential campers should be aware of the small, circular layout which might limit privacy and the potentially small campsite sizes. Despite these considerations, the positive feedback regarding cleanliness and scenic views makes Lelah Bradley Park Campground a worthwhile option for local outdoor enthusiasts, especially those looking for a budget-friendly getaway with essential amenities.

Lelah Bradley Park Campground Reviews
Awesome place to camp, showers and bathrooms are very clean, firepits have a nice attachment for cooking and the cost is about average for camping and the view of the lake in some of this spots is beautiful
Sep 29, 2024 · Michael KnowlesSmall campground that's in a circle so your really close to your neighbors. The shower house is clean and quite large. There's a small and a large shower. Both men's and women's have 2. The showers though are like rooms! They have a push button that mists a warm spray on you, so may take a while to get all the soap off. I know this is important to say bc if you have kids that are small you can get in there with them to help and not get wet. I would definitely bring something to sit my towels and clothes on as they only have a metal set outside of the shower...unless you plan on walking out of there with a towel on. The showers are only available for campers but late night and you need a shower.... The campground sites are a register paper that you fill out and you put $15 in an envelope then tare off the bottom and stick in your clip at the pole in front of your site. I didn't stay bc the camp was full but There's a fire ring and a small space for your rv, camper or tent and the host is camped at the check in.
Aug 12, 2024 · Jessica PaulFirst time. Little difficult to find address. Arrived early evening, hosts were very nice. The lots are well spaced, but a watchful eye is needed to avoid turning into the many trees. Nice paths. Never used the bathhouse. Water, sewer and power are at the sight. Received some over the air channels perfect. Fishing short walk.
