Littleton Horse Camp Reviews
Nice, but relatively unknown little campground near the Mt. Muller Trailhead that caters specifically to horse campers, but to hikers and car campers as well. Campers must bring their own water, however, so it is not a fee campground. I've never seen it crowded with campers. The Mt. Muller trail system consists of about 22 miles of trails that stretch along the Sol Duc Valley at about 1000 feet elevation and ascend to Snider Ridge at up to about 3600 feet. It also ties in with the Olympic Discovery Trail near Hwy 101 and Fairholm Hill.
Jun 07, 2017 · Verne FarrellThis is a dry camping area with pens for your horses. It's quite secluded and beautifully spaced to give you privacy. It has several short and long trails. Our cat and dog were very happy to explore with us. Our "neighbors" had the cutest goat and horses with them. There are a few picnic benches. Small letrines located at each level. Drinking water for animals is available. Totally recommended!
Sep 12, 2022 · C EIt has a nice wide open space for star gazing, setting up volley ball and a large BBQ/picnic area. Very quiet compared to most other campsites I've been to which was a welcomed change. No potable water! There is a bathroom though. Only 4 miles from Lake Crescent. There are only 6 campsites.
Aug 23, 2018 · Arnulfo GonzalezStock water IS available, vault toilets, 6 pens lower with 3 additional pens above. There are fire rings at each camp site...Biggest problem I observed was non-horse, RV campers taking up the limited spaces, leaving horse and trailer and horses around the perimeter...Come early to get your spot!Beautiful lush forest, horses should be in good condition for upper trails but pretty flat and long on lower, the creek (marked Stock Creek on map) provides perfect place to cool and water horses on return to camp.Dogs should be leashed regardless of trail worthyness due to high predator presence and we had a problem with several free roaming dogs entering our campsite.I noticed that not one camper prior to our visit used certified weed free hay, and didn't bother cleaning pens of manure or leftover feed.Really beautiful place, nice wide trails, we met new BCHW chapter members that gave us great info and we're very friendly.I would have liked updated maps as well.Highly recommend despite this!
Aug 01, 2017 · T BlandOther than the need to bring your own water. one of the most beautiful places to camp horses or not. The trailhead for Mt. Muller is also located here, which is a hike of 10 miles of switchback at fairly fast incline. well worth the sweat! It was one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen.
