Situated within the Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest, campers are immersed in the stunning landscapes of Utah's wilderness. Expect picturesque settings with potentially wooded areas providing shade, access to the refreshing river mentioned in the reviews, and opportunities to observe local wildlife. The campground's location along UT-39 also suggests relatively easy access, making it a convenient "camping near me" option for those in the region. The proximity to a river that is suitable for both tubing and swimming is a particularly attractive feature, offering a fun and relaxing way to spend warm days for families and individuals alike.
The services and upkeep of Lower Meadows Campground appear to be a strong point, as emphasized by the positive reviews. One camper specifically noted the above-average cleanliness of the facilities, attributing it to the dedicated camp hosts who ensure that visitors follow rules aimed at maintaining the campground's excellent condition. The bathrooms were highlighted as being exceptionally clean and odor-free, which is a significant factor in ensuring a comfortable camping experience. The presence of a friendly camp host further enhances the stay, providing assistance and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While specific details about amenities like water hookups, electrical access, or dump stations are not provided, the focus on cleanliness and a helpful host suggests a well-maintained and managed campground.
Several features contribute to the appeal of Lower Meadows Campground as a top choice for "camping near me." The direct access to a river suitable for children to tube or swim in stands out as a major draw, offering a unique recreational opportunity right at the campground. The presence of wildlife in the area and the availability of trails for walking or hiking cater to those who enjoy exploring the natural surroundings and observing local fauna. The campground's proximity to nearby cities is also a significant advantage, providing a convenient escape to nature without being too far removed from urban amenities and services.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, one review mentioned "poor access to information about camp ground, poor mapping including no printed brochures." This suggests that potential visitors might need to rely on online resources or direct contact via phone to obtain detailed information about the campground, site layouts, and any specific regulations. The provided phone numbers, (385) 273-1100 and +1 385-273-1100, become crucial for local users to call and inquire about availability, reservations (if applicable), and any specific details they need to know before their visit.
Another point mentioned in the reviews is that the campground can be "a little noisy from main road close by." This is something to consider for those particularly sensitive to noise. However, the numerous positive aspects of the campground, such as cleanliness and river access, seem to outweigh this concern for many visitors. It's a trade-off to consider for the convenience of its location along UT-39.
Promotional information for Lower Meadows Campground, aimed at local users searching for "camping near me," should emphasize its key strengths: the clean and well-maintained environment, the fantastic river access for family fun, the friendly and helpful camp hosts, and the convenient proximity to both nature and nearby cities. Highlighting the opportunities for river tubing and swimming, hiking on nearby trails, and wildlife viewing would attract families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Testimonials from satisfied campers, focusing on the cleanliness and the enjoyable river experience, could be powerful promotional tools.
To address the noted lack of information access, the campground could consider improving its online presence with detailed maps, brochures in digital format, and comprehensive information about amenities, rules, and reservation procedures. Providing clear and easily accessible information would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for potential visitors and could turn the one-star deduction into a five-star rating for future guests.

Every thing was great; clean, great river for kids to tube or swim in, friendly camp host, close to cities. Lost one star for por access to information about camp ground, por mapping including no printed brochures and a little noisy from main road close by.
Mar 18, 2021 · katherine DumasAs far as cleanliness its above average the couple who take care of this campground make sure all who use it fallow rules to keep the place clean and in great shape for all who camp here so everyone can have a great experience and the bathrooms were so clean and smelled great no stink at all the river was not far from the camp site, there is a lot of wildlife around and trails to walk or hike. We had a great time.
Jul 08, 2019 · MeechieWe stayed here for several days. Rustic, no hookups and first come first served (which we love). The grounds were well maintained and clean. The hosts, Adam and Sharon were fantastic!! So friendly and helpful with local info. They were also very attentive after a quick but significant storm rolled through. Awesome experience!!
Aug 01, 2024 · Nun YaThis was honestly the worst camping experience. We were unfortunate enough to book the campsite right next to the hosts. The hosts had the loudest generator I have ever heard and kept it running all day long. They finally shut it off right at 10pm for quiet hours but it was right back on by 7am. If you're looking for a nice, peaceful camping experience I would never recommend this place. You could hear the generator no matter which site you were at but at our site 23, it was so loud that I could not hear my partner speaking when we were sitting 2 feet away from each other. So much for a peaceful campfire dinner/evening. We left very disappointed.
Aug 23, 2024 · Megan BarronLoved this campground. Sites were far apart and very large. Bathrooms were very clean and didn't smell. We stayed at number 4, the double lot. We easily fit 4 tents and there was room for at least 3 more.
