As part of the well-known KOA (Kampgrounds of America) network, this "Journey" location is typically geared towards providing comfortable and reliable amenities for travelers, while also offering a welcoming environment for local campers.
Based on the available customer reviews, the environment at Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey offers a blend of natural beauty and accessibility. One reviewer specifically mentions a "Beautiful scenic trail," suggesting that the campground provides opportunities for leisurely walks and enjoying the outdoors. This is a significant feature for those looking to immerse themselves in a natural setting, even for a short stay. The level campsites and nicely spaced utilities are also highlighted, indicating a well-thought-out layout that caters to the practical needs of RV and tent campers alike. The "very large sites" mentioned in one review are a significant advantage, offering ample space for setting up camp, parking vehicles, and enjoying outdoor activities without feeling cramped.
In terms of services and amenities, the reviews point to a focus on cleanliness and maintenance. The "Super clean and updated bathhouse" receives high praise, which is a crucial aspect for any camper seeking a comfortable experience. Friendly employees are also mentioned, contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. For families and pet owners, the presence of a "Great playground and dog park" is a significant bonus. These facilities provide dedicated spaces for children to play and for furry companions to exercise safely, enhancing the overall appeal of the campground for a diverse range of campers. As part of the KOA network, it's also likely that the campground offers standard amenities such as water and electric hookups at many sites, a dump station for RVs, and potentially laundry facilities. However, it's advisable to confirm the specific services available when making a reservation.
The features of Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey are geared towards convenience and comfort. Its location directly off the highway (I-95) is a major feature, providing easy access for travelers. While this accessibility is a significant advantage for those on the road, it's also noted that there is some highway noise. Local users who prioritize quiet might want to inquire about site locations within the campground that are furthest from the highway. The presence of a scenic trail adds a natural element to the otherwise convenient location, offering a peaceful escape within the campground itself. The level and large sites are features that contribute to a more comfortable and hassle-free camping experience, regardless of whether you're in a tent or an RV. The updated bathhouse, playground, and dog park further enhance the appeal for families and pet owners.
From a promotional perspective for local users searching "camping near me," Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey can highlight its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly service as key selling points. The scenic trail offers a touch of nature that can be appealing for a relaxing local getaway. For families, the playground and dog park make it a convenient and enjoyable option. While the highway noise is a factor to consider, the overall positive feedback suggests that the other amenities and the convenience of the location outweigh this for many campers. The KOA brand itself carries a certain level of trust and expectation for quality, which can be a significant draw. Promotional materials could emphasize the ease of access for local residents looking for a quick weekend escape without having to travel far from Lumberton.
To provide an objective introduction, it's important to acknowledge both the positives and the negatives mentioned in the reviews. The consistently praised cleanliness, updated facilities, friendly staff, scenic trail, playground, and dog park are significant advantages. However, the issue with the internet connectivity ("Internet is non existent") is a notable drawback for those who rely on it for work or entertainment. The highway noise is another factor that potential campers should be aware of, although one reviewer notes that it was "surprising nice" despite the traffic sound. Local users who prioritize strong internet access should inquire about the availability and reliability of Wi-Fi at specific campsites or common areas. Similarly, those sensitive to noise might want to request a site further away from the interstate.
In conclusion, Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey offers a convenient and generally well-regarded camping experience for local users and travelers alike. Its clean and updated facilities, spacious and level sites, scenic trail, playground, and dog park are significant positives. While the lack of reliable internet and the presence of highway noise are factors to consider, the overall positive feedback suggests a comfortable and enjoyable stay for many. Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey Reviews
Very nice KOA. Beautiful scenic trail. The sites are level and the utilities are nicely spaced. Very large sites. The only reason it's not a 5 is the Internet is non existent. It's so sad it doesn't even show up on my Roku. There is some highway noise since this KOA is literally right off the highway.
Apr 25, 2025 · christopher smithVery clean and well maintained KOA. Super clean and updated bathhouse and very friendly employees. Great playground and dog park too! Only thing is the sound of traffic. But, it is a Journey and it was surprising nice! Recommend.
Apr 21, 2025 · Patrice MurphyLet me first start by saying I have never stayed at a KOA (and me and my husband have stayed at a few)that serves breakfast. This was great and the breakfast was delicious. Also a big shout out to Debbie that works the front desk who also made our breakfast every morning and was so very nice and very helpful for telling us all about the area.If we are ever back in the area or going thru we will definitely stay again. Thanks for making our stay great Debbie!
Jan 20, 2025 · RHONDA TOPPINGEasy on/off from 95S when traveling through. Booked online about 4 hours out, received text instructions for after hours check in, codes and WiFi password included in after hours instructions. Quiet, level lots, easy parking, clean bathrooms. Just what we needed for a one night layover. Would recommend.
Apr 13, 2025 · Jessica NewmanSuper clean and nice KOA. The office staff was wonderful. We pulled in for an overnight stay as we headed south. Location was a little more off 95 than I expected, but not too bad. There is a continental breakfast in am that was lovely.
