Lundy Lake Resort Introduce
For anyone seeking a truly immersive and picturesque outdoor experience in the stunning Eastern Sierra, Lundy Lake Resort, located at 5109 Lundy Lake Rd, Lee Vining, CA 93541, USA, stands out as a highly anticipated and recently revitalized destination in the "Camping Near Me" and "RV Parks Near Me" categories. Under enthusiastic new ownership, the resort is undergoing significant restoration, promising an exceptional stay amidst unparalleled natural beauty.
The environment of Lundy Lake Resort is undoubtedly its crown jewel. Nestled in the dramatic Lundy Canyon, the resort offers a "one of a kind in its beauty," described as "much more wild than June Lake and more trees, hiking, wildlife, etc." The resort is situated directly on the shores of the tranquil 100-acre Lundy Lake, an "overlooked and easily forgotten drive-to lake" that nevertheless provides "solid fishing without the usual crowds." Campers can enjoy "plenty of shade," with many sites "protected from the wind," and direct views or proximity to the lake and boat launch. The surrounding landscape features towering peaks, dense forests of aspen groves (which are spectacular for fall foliage), and the "pristine Lundy Lake" itself, which "reflects the vibrant colors of the surrounding towering mountains and dense forest onto its still, crystal-clear waters." The resort is located just "14 miles west of Interstate 395," yet feels wonderfully secluded. The rich natural setting encourages abundant "wildlife viewing opportunities," including mule deer and beaver ponds, enriching the overall experience. The environment is described as a "Swiss Alps type setting," ensuring breathtaking photo opportunities at every turn. Its elevation at "7,858 feet" promises cool evenings, a welcome reprieve in summer.
Regarding services, Lundy Lake Resort is a comprehensive facility catering to a variety of outdoor enthusiasts, and it's clear the new ownership is dedicated to enhancing the offerings. The resort provides a mix of accommodation types, including approximately "21 tent camping spots" and "8 fully equipped RV sites with hookups," offering "30-Amp" power, water, and sewer connections for RVs, a significant convenience for those searching "RV Parks Near Me." However, it's worth noting that one review mentioned an issue with electricity "cut out constantly" at an RV site, suggesting a potential challenge that new management may be addressing as part of renovations. For all campers, the resort offers "adequate" and "clean bathrooms" which now "included free hot showers" and "flushing toilets" and sinks. Potable water faucets are also available "by campsites," ensuring easy access to drinking water. A "fish cleaning station" is a valuable amenity for anglers. The resort also features a "General Store" with "tackle, bait, groceries, etc.," making it convenient for campers to resupply. Critically, Lundy Lake Resort offers "boat rentals," including "boats, kayaks, paddle boards, and floaties," allowing guests to fully enjoy the lake. The staff, including "Hailey (sp?) and the staff" and the new owner "Tom" and "Ty," are consistently praised for being "so friendly and helpful," going "out of their way to accommodate" guests, suggesting excellent customer service, even during renovation periods.
The features of Lundy Lake Resort are numerous and contribute to its unique appeal. Its location as the "sole campground/resort in Lundy canyon" provides an exclusive experience. The lake itself is stocked with "trout," making for "epic" fishing opportunities, both from boats and from the easily accessible shoreline. A major feature is the direct connection to the "Lundy Canyon Trail," a highly regarded trail in the Eastern Sierra. This trail offers opportunities to hike by "beaver ponds and waterfalls," and for experienced adventurers, it leads "up and over Lundy Pass to Lake Helen" and other remote alpine lakes, with "multiple off-shoots leading to remote mines." The resort also offers historic cabins, which are undergoing "renovations" and are described as looking "so cool," some featuring "full kitchen stocked with cookware, private bathroom, cloud pillow top and memory foam mattresses, and outdoor setup on your private deck," offering a more luxurious "glamping" option. The resort's history is a compelling feature, with "tours on Fridays" where kids can learn about its "100 year history," which is "rich." The commitment of the new ownership to restoring the place, with the owner having "been coming here since a kid and speaks with passion about his restoration," adds a personal and reassuring touch. The "boutique style campsites" are each "unique in its own way," catering to various setups from tents to large RVs. Despite being "off-grid," they strive to offer many accommodations, reflecting a dedication to guest comfort.
For promotional purposes, Lundy Lake Resort should be marketed to local users searching "Camping Near Me" or "RV Parks Near Me" who are seeking a beautiful, amenity-rich, and family-friendly retreat in the Eastern Sierra. Emphasize the stunning natural environment, particularly the lake and its surrounding canyons, which offer unparalleled beauty for fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Highlight the enthusiasm and dedication of the new ownership and staff, promoting the ongoing renovations to both cabins and overall facilities. The availability of diverse accommodations (tent sites, RV hookups, renovated cabins) makes it appealing to a wide range of campers. Stress the convenience of "free hot showers," "flushing toilets," and potable water, as well as the availability of boat rentals on site. The resort's phone number is (626) 309-0415, and they also provide email and text options for contact (lundylakeresort@gmail.com), noting that during the season, communication might be limited/intermittent due to remoteness, so online booking via Campspot is encouraged. Promote the unique historical tours and the "epic" fishing experiences. Mention its proximity to other Eastern Sierra attractions like Mono Lake and its tufa towers, and the entrance to Yosemite National Park, making it an excellent base for regional exploration. Discounts for weekly stays, same-day bookings, servicepersons, and long-timers are offered, which is a great promotional tool. Lundy Lake Resort is positioning itself as a cherished yearly getaway, inviting visitors to experience its restored charm and the breathtaking beauty of the Eastern Sierra.

Lundy Lake Resort Reviews
We loved Lundy Lake Resort! We stayed in the site named “Spring.” Our site had plenty of shade, was protected from the wind and was directly across from the lake/boat launch. There were no hookups, but the site next to us did. The resort itself is being renovated, so many of the cabins were closed, but the bathrooms were adequate and included free showers. The resort rents boats, kayaks, paddle boards, and floaties and the lake is stocked with trout. The campground connects to the Lundy Canyon Trail that goes by beaver ponds and water falls. It couldn’t be more beautiful! Most importantly, the Hailey (sp?) and the staff there are so friendly and helpful!! We look forward to returning!!
Jul 15, 2024 · Sally DodsonApparently this is the first year under new ownership. The new owner Tom has been coming here since a kid and speaks with passion about his restoration of the place. We visited 1 week after reopening from the calamitous winter storms. The place is one of a kind in its beauty. Much more wild than June lake and more trees, hiking, wildlife, etc. Tom, Haley and Ty went out of their way to accommodate our party of 2 families. They loaned us adaptors for AC power, and many other things I will not mention as I'm sure would not be possible once they are at max capacity. The cabin renovations looked so cool, maybe we'll try one next year. The fishing was epic, the views were immaculate, what a great place. They also gave tours on Fridays and our kids learned all about the 100 year history of Lundy, which is rich! Also of note to potential visitors, they have free hot showers and flushing toilets, sinks, fish cleaning stations and potable water faucets by campsites. Our new yearly getaway! Thanks again to Tom, Haley, Ty and the whole staff up there!
Jul 17, 2023 · Ryan BrunolliWe arrived at Lake Lundy at 8:30, but unfortunately, it was already too dark, and we ended up in a tricky spot. Our trailer got stuck, and we were having a hard time getting it out and we were desperate! That's when Ty and Haley came to our rescue. Even though they didn't know us, they stepped in and helped us get the trailer unstuck and backed it down a hill for about a mile which took until midnight. If they went out of their way to help someone who wasn’t even staying at their RV resort, imagine the kind of service they provide for their actual guests! I will never forget them. Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.
Sep 05, 2024 · Anthony MorenoGreat to see this place in the Winter.
Jan 07, 2025 · aceyorbaGorgeous setting, easy access to hikes and sights in Mono County and over the Tioga pass into Yosemite. The cabin is rustic and had everything we needed--hot water, bathroom, kitchen, comfortable bed, an outdoor porch, and wildlife!--a resident pygmy owl, a deer that seemed to own the place, birds and beavers and fish. Haley, Ty, and Tom are welcoming, helpful, friendly, and working hard to polish this jewel of a place. We will be back.
