The services and features at Marzinski Horse Trailhead & Campground are basic yet functional, catering to those who appreciate a more traditional and less amenity-heavy camping experience:
- Clean and level campsites: Providing a comfortable and stable area for setting up camp.

Campers should be prepared to treat or filter this water for drinking or bring their own potable water.
- Horse trailhead access: The name suggests direct access to horse trails, making it an ideal location for equestrians looking for a place to camp with their horses and explore the surrounding forest. While the reviews don't explicitly detail the trails, their presence is implied by the campground's name.

Marzinski Horse Trailhead & Campground Reviews
Sites are clean and level, with a large fire ring and picnic table. There is a pit toilet and well pump that had ice cold water which was nice. The sites are spread apart but very visible to each other. Overall this campground is a really nice alternative to other free camping in the heart of the forest (fewer ticks and mosquitoes.)
May 30, 2022 · Catherine AbrahamNice, simple, and cheap place to camp. It does have one modest but clean outhouse, and a big old manual water pump, and that's really all you need if you are looking at a place like this to camp.
Aug 23, 2024 · Matt CalkinsThis place, maintained by the forest service is a free place to camp for up to two weeks. There are 21 sites of various sizes, many equipped to have horse's close. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings with a cooking grate. There is a day use area, vault toilet, and a water station. Not a bad spot to forage, as well as bird watch. It's not busy usually, not far from Manistee, and right along 55. Well worth the stop and stay.
Oct 16, 2019 · Chrystina SedoreI luv this property. Please dont ever come here!!!!! …………… that way i know ill always have my spot when im passing through.
Oct 17, 2021 · nathan goodfellowVery quiet campsites with a fire ring. Wood is for sale down the road. Be prepared for mosquitoes, biting flies and god knows what else. The fireflies put on a great show. The national forest is amazing.
