Looking for "camping near me" in the scenic Door County of Wisconsin? Monument Point Camping, located at 5718 Monument Point Rd, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, USA, offers a location that many campers find ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the area. You can reach them at (920) 743-9411 or +1 920-743-9411 for inquiries or reservations. Based on feedback from fellow campers, Monument Point Camping presents a mixed but insightful picture for those considering a stay.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that provides a base for exploring Door County's attractions, Monument Point Camping's location is frequently praised. One reviewer specifically mentioned its perfect proximity to beautiful beaches and state parks, highlighting Whitefish Dunes State Park as a favorite, just a short 15-minute drive away. This suggests that for those interested in outdoor activities such as beach visits, hiking, and exploring the natural landscapes of Door County, Monument Point Camping offers a convenient starting point.
The environment of Monument Point Camping seems to be one that many appreciate for its tranquility, particularly in the evenings. One seasoned camper noted that it was quiet at night and that the campground enforces quiet time, which they found to be a positive aspect. The campground also allows dogs, although there are rules in place, which some campers, like the one who appreciated the quiet, also value. This suggests a setting where peace and consideration for fellow campers are prioritized.
In terms of services, the reviews provide some contrasting viewpoints. One camper who was new to RVing found the experience positive and indicated a desire to become a seasonal resident in the future, implying that the campground is equipped to handle RVs, including a 33-foot one. This suggests the presence of sites with appropriate hookups or the availability of services needed for RV camping. However, another reviewer who had a permanent site for three years shared a negative experience with the owner regarding services paid for but not fully rendered (tank emptying) and a subsequent refusal to reimburse the cost. This paints a less favorable picture of the management and customer service in that particular instance.
Features of Monument Point Camping that can be gleaned from the reviews include its suitability for both tent and RV camping, given the mention of a 33ft RV. The enforcement of quiet time and rules regarding dogs are also notable features that contribute to the overall atmosphere of the campground. The proximity to nearby attractions like Whitefish Dunes State Park is a significant feature for those looking to explore the area. However, specific amenities like the availability of restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or recreational areas are not detailed in the provided reviews, leaving some aspects of the campground's features unknown.
Regarding promotional information, there are no explicit promotions mentioned in the provided reviews. However, the first reviewer's consideration of becoming a "season" resident suggests that the campground may offer seasonal rates or long-term stay options. For local users interested in such possibilities, direct contact with the campground at the provided phone numbers would be necessary to inquire about any seasonal offers or extended stay arrangements.
One review does mention the presence of "Kelsey and her 'staff'" who were described as "SO accommodating," indicating that there are helpful staff members on-site who contribute positively to the camping experience for some visitors. This positive interaction contrasts with the negative experience shared about the owner by another reviewer, highlighting a potential inconsistency in the overall management or customer service experience depending on individual interactions.
In summary, Monument Point Camping in Sturgeon Bay, WI, offers a conveniently located campground for exploring the natural beauty of Door County, with easy access to beaches and state parks like Whitefish Dunes. The environment is generally perceived as quiet, with rules in place to maintain a peaceful atmosphere, and it accommodates both tent and RV campers. However, potential local users should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the management and customer service, as one review detailed a significantly negative experience. To get a well-rounded perspective and specific information about amenities and rates, contacting Monument Point Camping directly is recommended. Consider both the positive aspects of location and the potential drawbacks mentioned in the reviews when making your decision about "camping near me."

Monument Point Camping Reviews
My husband and I spent the first half of our vacation at Monument Point Campground. I am somewhat of a seasoned camper but this is new to my husband, and new to both of us in the 33ft RV in inherited from my folks. All I can say is WE WILL BE BACK!! We are close to retirement and considering being a "season" resident at Monument Point in a few years. The location is perfect, so close to some beautiful beaches and state parks. Our favorite was Whitefish Dunes, just a 15 minute drive.Kelsey and her "staff" were SO accommodating as well. If you are a camper, this is the place for you. It was quiet in the evenings and they are pretty strict about quiet time and dogs(which they allow, but there are rules), but I, for one, appreciate that!!
Aug 11, 2024 · Deanna J RosenfeldAfter 3 years of a permanent site we were treated terrible by the owner. She was extremely odd and controlling as well as manipulative. She tried to get us to not use the service that we paid for recommending that we do not dump out the trailer or that we go to Green Bay to dump it. We still had 3 credits for getting our tanks emptied ($60) owed to us when we left and she is refusing to pay us the $60 with no justification offered. It is a quiet Campground and the other campers are great! The owner Deb is an awful human being. Please do not give this woman your business and if you choose to, be ready to be taken advantage of.
Oct 12, 2022 · Michael RahmlowMonument Point was pretty nice. Insanely clean bathrooms and showers so that was awesome. We had site 75. Sites are fairly private with lots of trees and shrubs between everyone. Met lots of friendly people. Apparently alot of the guests are there for the whole season so lots of big campers around and people seem to know each other. Very kid friendly and safe. Playground could use some updating (swings and sand box only pretty much) and no beach on-site, but just a few miles from beautiful Egg Harbor. Beaches nearby drive away. Mini golf and fun park just up the HWY from this place.
Jul 16, 2017 · Ashly KWe are staying here for a week and have been very impressed so far. Very clean bathroom with many shower stalls available. Very helpful and friendly owners. Reasonable prices in the camp store and firewood bundles, although $8, are huge. The campsites themselves are shaded and fairly private. Mosquitoes are here, but not terrible. Great location between Sturgeon Bay and Fish Creek.
Aug 01, 2017 · Greg ReicheltWhere do I begin? What a top rate campground! If I could give a rating beyond 5 stars I would!!! When we arrived the weather was less than ideal, but DEB AND TRENT’s warm reception made us forget about that!!The campground entry creates the fabric of peace. It is a beautiful and well kept and sparkly clean. The bathrooms were unbelievable beyond what one would ever expect. We encountered a few of our own personal issues getting acclimated to camping. Every turn we took they helped us. Wow!! They are very professional! Also, I lost my wallet walking in the driveway. Thank goodness Trent found it and returned it. He ran it over, felt the bump and discovered it was mine.my money, charge cards and license were all intact! Can you believe they brought it to my campsite? Their level of honesty is amazing. My husband is the retired Sheriff of Shawano county, and he couldn’t believe there are many people left in this world like that!! Trent helped my 78 year old husband get the stabilizer bar and hitch on when it was time to go. What a kind man Trent is. He also helped my husband with a few suggestions on the new camper and regarding camping. As we drove away from this beautiful and well run peaceful haven I knew I would be writing this review.I feel confident that you can do business with Deb and Trent and will find a beautiful, clean well run haven of peace. If I were to bottle up their professionalism and dedication to serve customers and it could be sold, I’d be a rich woman.BOOK YOUR STAY WITH CONFIDENCE!!Patsy and Bill.
