Mountain Meadows Park Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Holland, NY area that welcomes both your family and your furry friends? Mountain Meadows Park, located at 13500 Parker Rd, Holland, NY 14080, USA, has been a destination for some campers for several years. Offering a variety of campsites and potentially other amenities, it presents itself as a convenient option for those seeking outdoor recreation close to home. To provide a comprehensive and objective introduction, it's essential to consider the available information, including direct descriptions and customer reviews, to paint a balanced picture for prospective local users.
The environment of Mountain Meadows Park appears to be a significant draw for many. One long-term camper of five years describes the sites as "awesome" and highlights the park's family and pet-friendly atmosphere. This suggests a welcoming and inclusive environment catering to a broad range of outdoor enthusiasts. The mention of looking forward to opening weekend annually indicates a positive experience with the natural setting and the overall ambiance of the park during the camping season. While specific details about the landscape, such as the presence of wooded areas, open fields, or water features, are not extensively detailed in this positive review, the general sentiment points towards an enjoyable outdoor environment.
However, it's crucial to consider a more recent and detailed review from a former seasonal camper to gain a fuller understanding of the current environment and potential changes. This review paints a less favorable picture, particularly concerning the impact of new ownership. The former seasonal camper, who stayed for three seasons spanning the old and new owners, initially held optimism but expressed significant concerns about the direction of the park. They mention constant side-by-side vehicle traffic on their road, leading to dust issues, which could detract from the peaceful enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Furthermore, they describe extensive construction and disruption around their waterfront site, for which they paid a premium, without prior communication. This construction mid-season led them to abandon their site and feel they lost half a season of enjoyment. The reviewer also expresses concern about the destruction of wildlife habitat due to this development.
The review suggests a shift in the park's focus towards becoming a "glamping kind of area," which might involve more intensive development and potentially a different type of camping experience than what long-term traditional campers might expect. The former camper laments the changes to the pond/lake area, which they previously enjoyed, due to the mid-season construction. This suggests that water features may have been a key environmental attraction of Mountain Meadows Park, but recent developments have negatively impacted this aspect for some visitors.
In terms of services, the information is somewhat limited and potentially evolving. The positive review from the long-term camper doesn't explicitly detail services but implies satisfaction over five years. In contrast, the more critical review raises concerns about communication from the new owners and the lack of on-site security, citing the alleged theft of a new camper from the winter lot. This lack of security could be a significant concern for potential campers looking for a safe environment for their equipment and families.
The services traditionally expected at a campground, and potentially offered at Mountain Meadows Park, might include:
- Campsite hookups (water, electricity, sewer – though the extent of these is not specified).
- Restroom and shower facilities.
- Trash disposal.
- Potable water access.
- Recreational areas (playground, etc. – not mentioned specifically).
- Potentially laundry facilities.
- Possibly Wi-Fi (not mentioned).
- Management office and staff.
However, based on the negative review, the quality of communication and the level of on-site security appear to be areas of concern under the new ownership. The construction activities also suggest ongoing changes to the park's infrastructure and layout, which could impact the availability and quality of certain services.
The features of Mountain Meadows Park, as perceived by the long-term camper, include family and pet-friendly sites, which is a significant positive aspect for those traveling with children or animals. The potential for a welcoming community feel is also implied by their repeated visits. However, the more recent review highlights some potentially negative changes to the park's features. The construction around the waterfront sites has detracted from their appeal, and the increased density of new spots suggests a potential loss of the spaciousness and privacy that some campers value. The reviewer also mentions a "clicky" atmosphere among some campers who are not welcoming to newcomers, which could impact the social aspect of the camping experience for some.
Previously attractive features might have included waterfront campsites and a more natural, less crowded environment. However, the ongoing development and the alleged shift towards a "glamping kind of area" could be altering these features. Potential new features associated with glamping might include more luxurious accommodations or amenities, but the reviews do not provide specifics on these. The core features that initially attracted campers, such as the pond/lake access and the natural surroundings, appear to be undergoing significant changes that have negatively impacted at least one long-term visitor.
Regarding promotional information, there is no specific mention of current promotions in the provided text. Typically, campgrounds might offer:
- Seasonal discounts.
- Long-stay rates.
- Group discounts.
- Special offers for opening or closing weekends.
- Referral programs.
To obtain information about any current promotions at Mountain Meadows Park, it would be best to contact them directly via phone at (716) 457-3116 or +1 716-457-3116. Their official website or social media channels (if available) might also provide details on pricing and special offers.
In conclusion, Mountain Meadows Park in Holland, NY, presents a mixed picture for those seeking "camping near me." While it has been appreciated in the past for its family and pet-friendly atmosphere and potentially scenic environment, recent changes under new ownership have raised concerns for some long-term visitors. Issues such as poor communication, lack of on-site security, disruptive construction, potential overcrowding, and a shift in focus towards a "glamping" style development are significant points to consider. The positive experience of a camper with five years of visits should be weighed against the negative experiences of a former seasonal camper who felt the park's environment and atmosphere had deteriorated. Prospective local users should contact Mountain Meadows Park directly to inquire about the current state of the facilities, services, security measures, and any ongoing promotions. They should also consider the potential for ongoing construction and the evolving nature of the campground based on the recent feedback before making a decision.

Mountain Meadows Park Reviews
Awesome sites family and pet friendly. Been there 5 years look forward to opening weekend every year
Mar 01, 2025 · Nathan KorthalsNew renters beware! We were seasonal 3 seasons and first one was with old owners. When new owners came we were optimistic and stayed. They don’t communicate very good at all, have no security onsite in fact I heard a brand new camper was recently stolen from the winter lot, so sad for that new camper there. After the first year we decided maybe new owners just needed to get acclimated to owning a campground. The next and following season we were wrong, side by sides flew down our road constantly kicking up dust, they came and ripped up all around our waterfront site which we paid more to be there without any communication to which we never returned and lost half a season as it was all construction and we want to camp to enjoy our surroundings not to mention all the wildlife habitat that was ruined. They are money hungry and trying to make this a glamping kind of area. We really loved being on the pond/lake but unfortunately they ruined it by ripping it all up mid season. If we would have known that we would have moved the year prior and saved our frustration and money as I feel this campground is severely overpriced for what you get, but being on the water made it worth it. They are putting so many spots in now you will feel like you can touch other campers. More there are very “clicky” and won’t even say hi. Save your money and pick somewhere else.
May 08, 2024 · JenniferWe rented an rv. It’s was clean but not deep cleaned. The bathroom wasn’t clean, and the beds had leaves and debris on them. The showers in the main building with the store, the door knobs were broken so no privacy. The people working and other campers were very friendly!! My child cut their ankle on the gate to the pool and it has left a scar. I hope someone fixes it!
Jul 28, 2023 · RachelWonderful campground. The new owner is greatly improving the place. The showers are clean and renovated. The community area is also newly renovated and inviting. It was a nice place to camp for the week as we hiked the Finger Lakes trail.
Jun 24, 2023 · Terri DempskiWe camped there. Great weekend. We had my mom, friend, the kids, and grandkids up. Felt comfortable. Did not feel watched, over bearing mgmt rules nor over charged. Just enough to do. Great experience. "Without" paying for the amenities that other campgrounds offer to raise your price to unaffordable and overbearing atmospher.
