For local users in the Milford, New Jersey area and those searching for "camping near me" seeking a welcoming and well-regarded campground, Mountainview Campground, located at 135 Goritz Rd, Milford, NJ 08848, USA, offers a promising destination. With contact numbers (908) 996-2953 and +1 908-996-2953, this campground is praised in customer reviews for its friendly staff and accommodating atmosphere, making it a potentially excellent choice for individuals, families, and various camping styles. Let's delve into the environment, services, and features gleaned from these firsthand accounts to provide a detailed introduction for local campers.
The environment of Mountainview Campground appears to be one that offers a sense of space and privacy. Reviewers mention that "the sites are nicely spaced out and you have a reasonable amount of privacy," suggesting that campers can enjoy their own personal area without feeling crowded. The presence of "cute animals roaming in the area before you get to the sites" hints at a natural and possibly semi-wooded setting, adding to the charm of the location. While the roads within the campground are noted as "kind of rough and uneven to drive on," the overall impression is of a natural environment that provides a pleasant backdrop for camping. The mention of being able to enjoy the "sounds from the forest" in another review (from a different campground, but relevant to the general camping experience in New Jersey) suggests that Mountainview might also offer a connection to nature and a peaceful ambiance. Local users looking for campsites with a degree of separation and a natural feel should find this appealing. Further exploration of online resources or a direct visit could provide more specific details about the landscape and surrounding area.
The services at Mountainview Campground are highlighted by the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. One reviewer specifically commends the staff for being "friendly and nice" and even going out of their way to assist with hookup locations. Another review gives "two thumbs up and more" to the campground owner, Tim, for his extraordinary assistance when a camper's car broke down, including lending tools, making phone calls, and charging the car battery. This level of service suggests a management that is deeply invested in ensuring a positive guest experience. In terms of amenities, the campground offers "flush toilets and showers" in what is described as a "clean bath house" with "hot shower." A significant advantage mentioned is the availability of "15 amp hookups (standard household outlets)" at some sites, making it convenient for tent and car campers to charge devices – a feature often lacking in campgrounds primarily catering to RVs. For RVers, "water hookups and dump stations" are also available, although one reviewer didn't personally use these. Firewood is available for sale on-site, adding to the convenience for campers wanting to enjoy campfires. While the campsites themselves are noted as "unmarked," the helpful staff seems ready to assist with site location. The combination of friendly service and practical amenities makes Mountainview Campground a well-equipped option for local campers.
The features of Mountainview Campground contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. The spacious and private campsites are a key feature, allowing for a more relaxed and secluded stay. The availability of 15 amp electrical hookups caters to a broader range of camping styles beyond just RVs. The presence of a playground suggests that the campground is family-friendly and offers recreational opportunities for children. The "cute animals roaming in the area before you get to the sites" add a unique and charming element to the environment. The positive interactions with both staff and fellow campers, as highlighted in the reviews, suggest a welcoming and friendly community atmosphere. The absence of disruptive noise from other guests is also a significant feature, contributing to a peaceful stay. While the lack of lighting at night (except for the bathroom) and unmarked campsites are mentioned as minor downsides, the overall positive feedback indicates that the strengths of the campground outweigh these issues for many visitors. The owner's willingness to teach guests about local plants, as mentioned in one review, adds a personal and educational touch to the camping experience. For local users seeking a campground with friendly service, practical amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, Mountainview Campground appears to be an excellent choice.
Regarding promotional information, the provided reviews do not explicitly mention any specific discounts or special offers. However, the consistently positive feedback and the emphasis on friendly service and practical amenities serve as strong implicit endorsements. Local users interested in potential promotions or seasonal rates should contact Mountainview Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about any off-season discounts, weekday specials, or group rates might be beneficial. Additionally, checking local camping websites or social media pages associated with the campground could reveal any current promotions. The "camping near me" platform might also list any special offers if provided by the campground management. Given the positive reviews and the amenities offered, the value for money at Mountainview Campground seems to be a significant draw in itself.
In conclusion, Mountainview Campground in Milford, NJ, offers a highly recommended local camping experience, particularly for those who value friendly service, spacious and private campsites, and convenient amenities like 15 amp hookups and hot showers. The positive reviews highlight the helpfulness of the staff and the welcoming atmosphere, making it suitable for a wide range of campers, including families and those with tents or RVs. While there are minor drawbacks mentioned, such as uneven roads and unmarked campsites, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Mountainview Campground Reviews
This is a great campsite. The staff is friendly and nice. They even came out to show us where the hookups were when we couldn’t find them. The sites are nicely spaced out and you have a reasonable amount of privacy. We didn’t have problems with other guests bothering us or being inconsiderate. The bathrooms aren’t the most updated but they have flush toilets and showers. I love that they have 15 amp hookups (standard household outlets). So if you are tent or car camping, you can charge your devices. Many sites only have rv hookups so this is a great addition. We didn’t use these amenities but there are water hookups and dump stations. They have firewood for sale. During our visit, they had cute animals roaming in the area before you get to the sites as well as a playground. The are only a few downsides. The roads are kind of rough and uneven to drive on. The campsites are unmarked so you might have a hard time leaving and coming back. And there are no lights at nights except for the bathroom. I hope they mark the campsites with numbers in the future. P.S. another review mentioned being mistreated due to their race. We are an interracial couple (black/white) and did not experience this.
Jul 29, 2024 · Steph RI have to give this camp ground owner Tim two thumbs up and more.I had my car broke down this weekend as soon as when my family arrived the site.our friendly camping neighbor Mike and Cori charged my jump starter for me.Tim, let me use his tools, made phone calls to someone who can help me to fix car and took my drained battery to charge and brought back.after all done, he taught us about plants. spice wood and birch wood. both have really nice scents to it.this place is nice with hot shower and clean bath house.most importantly it is so nice to be around good people here...,thank you Tim and all.
Jul 01, 2024 · Dongho AnThis is a great campsite if you are looking for near primitive experience. Site itself was pretty big, other tents were quite far and surrounded by bushes or trees. If you are too far inside, using facilities can be tricky due to rocky roads and long walk towards the entrance.
Sep 15, 2024 · Mukul SainiMy family and I love coming here! We visited for a second time, and loved both camp sites we were in. 95 & 97. The primitive campsites are well spaced apart and private, you can barely hear your neighbors. The service is great as well, and the bath house is as clean as you’d expect for a campground.
Sep 04, 2023 · courtneygallagher1Beautiful location! Easy to get to our campsite. Water and power connections are set up a bit weird so be sure you bring an extension cord if you plan on van camping or tent camping with access to those. Owner is extremely helpful and friendly!
