Embrace the Scenic Environment near Natural Bridge
Natural Bridge Campground lives up to its name by being ideally located for those wishing to explore the iconic Natural Bridge State Park and the broader Red River Gorge region. Campers can anticipate beautiful views and a setting that provides easy access to hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and the unique geological formations that define this part of Kentucky. The campground itself is described as smaller, which can contribute to a more intimate and potentially quieter camping experience. One of the notable environmental features is a pond on the property, which guests have enjoyed for fishing and feeding the fish, as well as spotting bullfrogs. The "frog night music" mentioned by one reviewer suggests a vibrant natural soundscape in the evenings, adding a touch of magic to the camping experience. While the campground is described as basic, the spaciousness of some sites is a definite plus, allowing for a more comfortable setup. However, it's worth noting that most sites are reported to be "pretty tight," so space considerations might be relevant depending on the size of your camping equipment.

The presence of a 50-amp site (#42) and a dedicated RV site (#10) indicates that the campground caters to both tent and RV campers, although RVers should be aware that most sites are on the tighter side.

Natural Bridge Campground Reviews
We’re so grateful for the warm and last-minute welcome! It’s a smaller campground, sure, but the sites were spacious, the views were beautiful, and the location was exactly what we were looking for. Our boys had a blast fishing, and the staff went above and beyond—offering them cookies and cupcakes, and truly making them feel welcome. Sadly, not all campgrounds are so kid-friendly, but this one absolutely is. And the frog night music? That was our favorite part—it made the evenings magical. Thank you again!
May 02, 2025 · Jessica DavisWe stayed at Natural Bridge campground with a travel trailer at site #42 for three nights while exploring the area. Jess, was the onsite host. She was fantastic, accommodating, helpful and very responsive. The campground itself is VERY basic and most of the sites are pretty tight with the exception of site #42 (50 amp ) and site #10 (for RVs) There is a pond that is fun to fish and feed fish and find bullfrogs. The reptile zoo Nextdoor is nothing to write home about but something to do for 30 minutes. The bathrooms and showers at the campground were clean and in good condition. The location is great to go to natural bridge , mine kayaking and pizza and ice cream. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Apr 25, 2025 · Alicia Furey-JenkinsHad an absolutely beautiful weekend here! Had a beautiful view of some cool rock structure, and the wonderful sound of a running creek behind our campsite. It is an incredibly peaceful spot. The bathrooms are completely updated and squeaky clean. The showers are also great and have very hot water! The staff were kind and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be back and suggesting to family/friends!
Apr 28, 2025 · Lauren LaShellAwesome little camp ground. Bathrooms were very clean, freshly painted, and well stocked.Campground was very peaceful and the owner was very friendly. They have outlets and water available at select primative camping sights, as well as either charcoal grills or a grate to put over a fire pit. The running water in the creek was a nice ambiance sound for sleeping. We tent camped but the cabins seemed very nice also, and the pond has quite a few fish. Excellent location near all the trails and Miguel’s Pizza and Cafe. Plan to come back soon.
Apr 14, 2025 · Brandon HuberNatural Bridge CampgroundFirst the good: The scenery is beautiful. Big open campground surrounded by hills and smaller mountains. The cabins on the water look nice and the pond is really pretty. Stayed here for 5 nights in our camper. The place was just about at capacity, but because of our site (32) we weren't right on top of people. I highly recommend trying to get sites 32-38 if you need water and electricity. The other sites are tightly packed together. Fished in the pond and caught a few nice fish. They were definitely biting. There is a lot to do nearby with hiking, climbing and fishing. This is a good base camp for all those. Firewood is available on site for a reasonable price. If you are into snakes and reptiles, the Kentucky Reptile Zoo is within walking distance. The campground is pet friendly and I really enjoyed meeting other campers dogs. The not so good: the bathrooms and shower houses are really dated, but I've read they are going to be updating soon. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms, but like I said, it was a busy weekend. The dump station is functional, but kind of a pain to get to depending on what side your tanks are on. If you like total quiet, go elsewhere as you hear the nearby interstate and rest area at all times. Stargazing is not good here as the lights from the nearby highway and rest stop have a lot of light pollution. The campsites are all dirt/grass and luckily there was no rain. The drive around the campground is full of potholes and ruts as well. Otherwise it would have been miserable.Overall, I would go back again, weather pending. I find it odd that no one is available in the office at times, and that there is no campground host like most parks have.
