New Bern KOA Holiday Reviews
It has been an incredible month filled with transformation and growth. My husband Ed and I embarked on a new journey, staying at the New Bern KOA Holiday since the end of February. We were in search of a new home, and this temporary haven provided us with the comfort and peace we needed. We made the bold decision to relocate from Lancaster County, PA to the New Bern area, where my husband took on an exciting new role as a Chef at Cork Wine Bar & Bistro. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff here. You welcomed us with open arms, making us feel like we were part of the family, even if it was just for a short time. Your kindness, love, and friendship touched our hearts. This campground is a true gem, beautifully maintained and filled with natural beauty. Our beloved pup Sammy thoroughly enjoyed his strolls around the grounds, making new furry friends along the way, including Gus, Rosie, Brinkley, and Pepper. As we prepare to bid farewell to this temporary home, we are thrilled to have found our new permanent residence just up the road in Bayboro. Once we are settled, I look forward to returning with cupcakes as a small token of our appreciation. Thank you all again for being beacons of hope and inspiration during our transition. You will be deeply missed.❤️ Peggy & Ed Ebright
Mar 29, 2025 · Peggy EbrightWe were booked to stay here two nights. We came home early from the beach so our kids could play in the pool which was advertised as closing at 6. We put our suits on and walked over to the pool just as a staff member was turning off the splash pad and locking the gate. I asked if the pool was closed, and the staff member said "Yes, the pool closes at 6." I assumed we had misjudged the time and took my two crying kids and baby back to the campsite. When I arrived back, I checked my watch and saw that it was only 5:35. My husband went back to the pool where the staff member was sitting in a golf cart. My husband asked again if the pool was closed, and the staff member repeated, "The pool closes at 6." My husband said, "But it's 5:40 now. So the pool is open." The staff member said, "Well you would only have 15 minutes to swim." "So the pool IS open then?" My husband repeated. "No, the pool is closed," the staff member finally said.If my kids had been able to swim just thirty minutes that would have made their day, and we would have happily gotten out of the pool at 6. If we had arrived after 6, it would have been our own fault, and we would have simply stayed the night to play in the pool before we left the next morning. But if the pool hours are whenever a staff member feels like opening and closing the pool, then there was no point in trying to swim the next day. We decided to check out early and start heading home. We went by the front office before we left, and we told the office staff that we were leaving because the pool had closed early. The office staff said, "I wish you had told a staff memeber so we could have opened the pool for you before 6." We said that we DID tell a staff member, and he made it clear that he would not be opening the pool for us. I don't know if this is an issue with a single staff member or a campground wide problem, but closing the pool thirty minutes early right as a mom and three kids in swimsuits are arriving is not the kind of behavior you expect at a campground geared towards families.
Apr 04, 2025 · Allison WearWe were a large group of Airstreams and even though they are very popular and busy with families they made room for all 25 trailers!Wonderful family CG. LOTS for kids to do with activities planned by the CG. Lovely ponds and on the river with a large dock.
Apr 26, 2025 · Patricia V ReedThis was an overnight stop for us, and it was perfect. Beautiful park with a family vibe. The pool was open, and there were a lot of activities for kids and families. Staff were great, and facilities were easy access.
Apr 30, 2025 · Jackie CenterwallVery clean, secure bathhouses. Campground well cared for and maintained. Beautiful views from the swings overlooking the Neuse River. The store and check-in are well stocked and the staff very friendly and helpful. We plan to return in the future to enjoy more explorations of the New Bern area and paddle the river.
