Newport / I-40 / Smoky Mountains KOA Journey Reviews
This KOA has a really nice and helpful staff and is quiet and clean. My dog loved the spacious walking areas and the little pond just over the bridge. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, the Dollar General is right up the road for groceries.
Apr 30, 2025 · Katherine RootJohn and Sherry were absolutely amazing hosts! We could not have picked a better location to camp out a few days while in town looking at land. Amazing people, and just an outstanding operation they run here. 10/10 will absolutely be back!
Mar 18, 2025 · Tighe GreerKOA campgrounds are usually very good and, despite the extraordinarily friendly staff, this one was more than a little tired. We stayed for a simple overnight while on the road with our large Class A. It is past its prime, though it appears there are some improvements being made. Obviously, a lot of full-time campers so, lots of “stuff“ cluttering up camp sites. The pool was closed, the parking locations were not paved and not level. not our best camping experience.
Apr 05, 2025 · FE KennedyWe absolutely loved our experience with John and Sherri. They were amazing. But as soon as I left the campsite, we did too because we knew that they were the ones that held it together
Apr 05, 2025 · Emily TicichI stayed at a tent site, the site was well maintained and made set up clean and easy. The little Pavillion was nice to have. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There was highway noise, but most Journey campgrounds are located near highways, so that wasn't unexpected. The main lodge was closed for remodeling. It was a bit of a hike to the bathrooms, only 2. Unisex. No mirror. They were basic and adequate.Beautiful pool.I felt quite safe there.Hoping you weren't affected by the flooding from Helene.
