Based on customer reviews, the environment at Oriole Campground is generally well-received. One visitor described it as a "nice campground" and another called it a "cute little campground." A particularly charming feature highlighted is a "little creek running by," which adds to the natural ambiance and likely provides soothing sounds. The campsites are noted to be "spaced nicely," which allows for more privacy and reduces the feeling of being too close to neighboring campers. While one reviewer mentioned that "some sites were a little muddy," they also acknowledged that "it's camping :-)," suggesting this is a common and acceptable aspect of the outdoor experience.
In terms of the impact of recent events, it was mentioned that "most of the campgrounds were not affected by recent fires." However, it's noted that "2 are now in the open due to missing trees," which could affect the shade and overall feel of those specific sites. It's advisable to inquire about site conditions when making a reservation, especially if shade is a priority for you.
One aspect to be aware of regarding the environment is potential noise from a nearby road. A reviewer mentioned "a road that goes up the hill that was used an about every hour on the average," with traffic noise potentially occurring until 10 pm and starting again around 6 am. Regarding services and features, Oriole Campground offers a more basic camping experience. One reviewer noted that the "vault toilet was mostly clean," which is a positive aspect for those who prefer on-site restroom facilities. However, it's important to be aware that "there's no running water" at Oriole Campground. For water needs, campers are advised that they "can get it at Cottonwood Campground down the road." This lack of on-site running water is a significant factor to consider when planning your trip, requiring you to bring your own water or plan to fetch it from the nearby Cottonwood Campground.
A significant feature that makes Oriole Campground appealing to budget-conscious campers is its affordability. One reviewer mentioned that it was "only $8 per night to camp, with $5 for an extra vehicle." This makes it a very economical option for camping in the area. It's worth confirming if these rates are still current when you contact them.
Nature enthusiasts might appreciate the wildlife in the area. One visitor noted that "there are a lot of deer in the area," as well as the presence of "wild raspberries, serviceberries, blueberries, and wild rose," and even "a few butterflies." This suggests opportunities for wildlife viewing and perhaps some foraging (where permitted and with proper identification). The "cute little creek running by" also adds to the natural charm and may attract local fauna.
In summary, Oriole Campground offers a nice and cute little camping experience with well-spaced campsites in a natural environment featuring a creek and abundant wildlife. It is particularly attractive due to its affordability. However, potential campers should be aware that there is no running water on-site, and there might be some noise from a nearby road. The vault toilet is generally clean. While most of the campground was unaffected by recent fires, a couple of sites are now more open due to tree loss.
For local users searching for 'camping near me' who are looking for an affordable and nature-oriented experience near Omak, WA, Oriole Campground presents a viable option. The beauty of the creek, the spaced campsites offering privacy, and the chance to see deer and wild berries are appealing. Just remember to bring your own water or plan to get it from Cottonwood Campground and be prepared for potential road noise.

Oriole Campground Reviews
Nice campground. Vault title was mostly clean. Campsites are spaced nicely so you don’t see much of your neighbors. Some sites were a little muddy but it’s camping :-).Most of the campgrounds were not affected by recent fires. However 2 are no in the open due to missing trees. There is a road that goes up the hill that was used an about every hour on the average. So you may hear that noise until 10pm and start up around 6am.
Oct 06, 2023 · Bryan StewartI loved this cute little campground. It's not very big, but there's a recently painted outhouse, the sites are nice, and the little creek running by is too cute! There's no running water, but you can get it at Cottonwood Campground down the road. I loved that it was only $8 per night to camp, with $5 for an extra vehicle. There are a lot of deer in the area, and wild raspberries, serviceberries, blueberries, and wild rose, as well as a few butterflies.
Aug 17, 2018 · KinbriThis is definitely a special place to enjoy, please clean up after yourselves! Pack it in pack it out! Winter is still a great time to go have a camp fire and day camp 😁
Nov 26, 2023 · John MartinNight of July 3rd...110 degrees outside...state campground was full...drove five minutes into the forest and found this gem. Temp was cooled by the forest and creeks to 70 degrees (perfect temp) and there was only one other person in the campground. Amazing. Quiet...best night sleep of my life. The only downside is that the water that you have to pump from the ground was not drinkable according to a sign there. Luckily we had enough bottled water to get us through the evening and morning. Otherwise, this is an awesome campground and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Jul 30, 2015 · Craig ListerWonderful campground for it's size. Beautiful with a little room between most of the sites with nice tent areas and beautiful scenery. No power or water hookups.
