Ortona South Lock Campground Reviews
Taking the family there is always a great visit, we are so lucky to have these locks around us.
Mar 03, 2025 · Edgar TamarizJust a great park. From checking in, Joyce is so friendly & helpful, clean areas with good bathrooms, to grounds well cared for- great place to stay.Hate the fishing bridge area closed, such a good place to hang out & fish- hope the funding comes thru soon. With Doge finding/ saving $$, hopefully such a good attraction open soon.
Mar 22, 2025 · Gary WardenClean and quiet campground with friendly hosts. Campsites are spacious and level. Pads are asphalt and include a large gravel patio, fire pit and picnic table. Electric and water at each site, a dump is conveniently located as you exit. A super Walmart is about 13 miles away for shopping needs.
Mar 13, 2024 · Mark SchrimpfGreat campground! Love all the streams and rivers that feed through the campground. Well-maintained grounds. Pet friendly. Lots of picnic tables scattered throughout. Two fishing docks over the river with great fishing! Cell reception with ATT hotspot. Did not use the restroom and shower facilities.
Dec 15, 2023 · Cindy J. RobisonThe wildlife is wonderful with lots of shore birds, song birds , rabbits, and even river otters. Sadly, the road to the campground is busy with dump trucks hauling sand during the week so bike riding or walking is limited at times. It's fun to watch so many boats come through the locks and people seemed to enjoy fishing at the dam. The volunteers were nice and facilities were well maintained. The sites aren't very private but it's still a delightful campground.
