Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" in the Oak Harbor, Ohio region, Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina, located at 4225 N Rider Rd, presents a destination with a mix of experiences, according to recent reviews. This campground and marina offers access to the Toussaint River, leading out to the vast expanse of Lake Erie, along with a variety of amenities that could appeal to families and outdoor enthusiasts. However, it's essential for potential visitors to consider both the positive and negative feedback to make an informed decision.
Environment and Location: Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina boasts a location that provides access to both the Toussaint River and, by extension, Lake Erie. This waterfront setting offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and enjoying the natural beauty of the Lake Erie region. One long-term camper describes the location as feeling like "home" and a true "Paradise," suggesting a pleasant and potentially scenic environment that fosters a sense of community. The access to the Toussaint River and Lake Erie via the marina is a significant environmental and recreational feature, opening up possibilities for water-based adventures. Oak Harbor is situated near the coast of Lake Erie, known for its recreational opportunities and proximity to various attractions in the region.
Services and Amenities: According to customer reviews, Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina offers a range of services and amenities. Notably, it provides "full hook up" for RVs, which typically includes water, electricity, and sewer connections, making it suitable for RV travelers. The presence of "3 in ground pools" is a significant amenity, particularly appealing to families and those looking to relax and cool off during their stay. The marina is another key feature, offering access to the Toussaint River and Lake Erie, which likely includes boat docking facilities and potentially launching services. While not explicitly mentioned, a campground of this nature might also offer basic amenities such as restrooms, showers, and possibly laundry facilities. The positive review highlights that they have "absolutely everything you need," suggesting a comprehensive offering of services for a comfortable camping experience.
Features and Highlights: The standout features of Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina include its access to Lake Erie via the Toussaint River, the presence of a marina for boating enthusiasts, and the availability of three in-ground swimming pools. The full hook-up sites cater well to RV travelers. The long-term positive review emphasizes the welcoming atmosphere and the efforts of the owners, particularly in providing activities for children, suggesting a family-friendly environment. The feeling of it being a "mini vacation" every weekend for a regular camper speaks to the enjoyable and relaxing experience it can offer. However, a contrasting review highlights significant challenges with navigating the campground with a large RV, including unclear signage for entrances and a negative experience with parking assistance leading to damage to the RV. This suggests that while the campground may offer appealing features, accessibility for large rigs could be a concern.
Customer Experiences: The provided customer reviews offer starkly different experiences at Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina. One long-time camper expresses strong positive sentiments, highlighting the comprehensive amenities, the welcoming owners, the family-friendly atmosphere, and the overall feeling of it being a "paradise." This suggests that many visitors have enjoyable and recurring experiences at the campground. However, the other review details a very negative experience involving difficulties navigating the entrances with a 41' motorhome due to poor signage and a damaging incident while being guided into a tight campsite by a park assistant. This reviewer strongly recommends against the park, especially for those with large RVs, citing a lack of accountability for the damage caused. These contrasting experiences indicate that while the campground may offer attractive amenities and a positive experience for some, there can be significant challenges, particularly for larger RVs, related to infrastructure and potentially customer service in certain situations.
Promotional Information: The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers, discounts, or special packages for Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina. Local users interested in learning about current rates, availability, or any ongoing promotions should contact the campground directly. Their website or social media channels, if available, might also provide information on special deals or seasonal offers. It would be advisable to inquire about site sizes and accessibility, especially for those with larger RVs, given the negative experience reported in one of the reviews.
Connecting with "Camping Near Me": For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Oak Harbor area with a desire for Lake Erie access, full hook-ups, and recreational amenities like swimming pools, Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina could be a consideration. The positive long-term review suggests a well-equipped and enjoyable destination for many. However, the serious concerns raised by another reviewer regarding navigation for large RVs and the handling of a damaging incident cannot be ignored. Potential visitors, especially those with larger rigs, should exercise caution and perhaps contact the campground directly to inquire about site suitability, entrance directions, and their policies regarding assistance with parking and any potential damages. For smaller RVs and those primarily interested in the waterfront access and other amenities, it may still be a viable option, but it's crucial to be aware of the mixed feedback.
In conclusion, Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina in Oak Harbor, OH, offers access to Lake Erie, a marina, full hook-ups, and three swimming pools, suggesting a potentially enjoyable stay for many. The positive feedback from a long-term camper highlights the family-friendly atmosphere and comprehensive amenities. However, a significant negative experience reported by another visitor concerning difficulties with a large RV and a damaging incident warrants careful consideration, particularly for those with larger vehicles. Potential guests should weigh these contrasting reviews and consider contacting the campground directly for detailed information relevant to their specific needs and vehicle size before making a reservation.

Paradise Acres Campgrounds and Marina Reviews
We made reservations for 2 nights, while asking if they could accommodate our 41' motorhome.Over the phone they told us no problem for the large RV.They told us to be sure and use the 2nd entrance.Upon arrival, the "first" entrance had NO signage, not nothing. We didn't even notice it. The next "first entrance WE noticed " had signage but was not the second entrance they described on the phone. We went to the 3rd entrance by the marina that was very tight to turn around our rig.Our campsite ended up being very tight, the park assistant that helped me back into my tight campsite continued waving me back deeper and deeper into the site until I hit a pole and knocked the spigot off the water supply. This is all with the guidance of the park helper that was standing less than 6 ft away from the water spicket. No offers were made to repair the scratches or dents on my motorhome after he intentionally backed me into the water pipe.Overall I would not recommend this park to anyone, but especially to someone with a large rig.
Oct 01, 2024 · gary phillipsWe've camped here for over 9 years now, and every weekend feels like a mini vacation. They have absolutely everything you need, full hook up, 3 in ground pools, and a marina that accesses the Toussaint River that takes you out to Lake Erie. The owners are amazing, and they do so much for the kids. I'd never consider another campground because it feels like home to me. It is truly "Paradise"!!
Aug 13, 2024 · Christopher J DahmNice campground, well kept, nice pools but would prefer only one musical option rather than several random speakers blaring different music at said pools. Nice people everywhere.
Aug 10, 2024 · Lynn FolkA great place to go to. To visit with my future Brother In-law and his Family. Family. There lot is nice. Always have a great time with him and his wife and children and their dog. A Fantastic Place to drive a long with his golf cart. The other people that have campers in Paradise Arces Campground are always friendly. And the dogs are friendly also. They have lots of entertainment there at the campgrounds, party's and live bands. Always look forward to visiting future family at Paradise Acres Campground.
Jul 08, 2022 · Shawn YanakWell my husband and I bought a camper on a site and we have been on the waiting list . Went up to the office to do paperwork and I was asked if we have kids?? Umm yes? The owner June said there is no kids on the marina side. There were kids everywhere!!!! It’s a campground … now I would understand if it was the retirement side that I want to get in to.. also she said we had to rent a boat dock as well.. when I was told we didn’t have to by the owner of the camper ! they won’t rent to us. It’s sad how they do business. Now I have to break my kids heart and tell them we’re not getting camper … SMH
