I didn't go to Payne springs campground.BUTI did go to bullseye lake off of the same road ,for some off the hook rainbow trout fishing .Most of the fish there are over 14 inches long and a hook about 24 inches down from a couple of heavy split shot with a #10 hook and orange or chartuce green power bait .GOOD LUCK
