Pine Mountain RV Resort Introduce
For local users searching under the category "camping near me" and considering Pine Mountain RV Resort, located at 8804 Hamilton Rd, Pine Mountain, GA 31822, USA, it is essential to approach this option with a balanced perspective based on recent customer feedback. While the resort has seemingly been a repeated destination for some, recent reviews highlight potential areas of concern regarding upkeep, amenities, and cabin conditions that local campers should be aware of before making a booking. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the provided reviews to help local users make informed decisions.
The environment surrounding Pine Mountain RV Resort is likely consistent with the natural beauty of the Pine Mountain region in Georgia. This area is known for its scenic landscapes, including forests and rolling terrain, potentially offering a pleasant backdrop for a camping or RV stay. The resort's location on Hamilton Road suggests accessibility to the natural attractions of the area. However, one recent review notes that "a lot of the grass needed mowing" and the "pool area (surroundings as I don’t think pool itself was open yet) needed some upkeep." This suggests that while the general environment of Pine Mountain may be appealing, the immediate grounds of the RV Resort might currently be facing some maintenance challenges that could impact the aesthetic appeal for visitors.
In terms of services and amenities, Pine Mountain RV Resort seemingly offers both RV sites and cabin rentals. One reviewer who stayed in a cabin mentioned that they were initially only offered the "most expensive cabin" when booking over the phone, suggesting a potential lack of transparency regarding pricing options. This same reviewer also noted that despite being told the cabin was ready, they were not allowed to check in until the standard check-in time. Furthermore, they experienced limitations with the available amenities, stating that "the pool was closed and the store closed at 4." This closure of the store prevented them from accessing recreational equipment like basketballs and tetherball, as well as keys to a steam shower. These experiences indicate potential inconsistencies in service availability and communication that local users should consider.
The reviews also raise concerns about the general upkeep and management of the resort. One long-time visitor noted a perceived increase in "long timers" with "messy and unkept" sites and campers in need of repair. This could suggest a potential lack of enforcement of site maintenance standards. Additionally, this reviewer mentioned observing "several campers with dogs off leash at their sites," despite a clear policy requiring dogs to be on a 6-foot leash. These observations point to potential issues with the enforcement of campground rules, which could impact the experience of other guests.
A significant feature mentioned in one of the reviews is the availability of cabin rentals. However, the experience of one guest who rented a cabin was overwhelmingly negative. They reported finding "rodent droppings in several drawers in the kitchen," which is a serious health and safety concern. This guest ultimately felt that the over $230 they paid for the cabin was not justified given the presence of rodents and the lack of access to other advertised amenities. This experience serves as a strong caution for local users considering cabin rentals at Pine Mountain RV Resort.
Based on the provided reviews, there is no positive promotional information to highlight at this time. Instead, the recent feedback suggests potential issues that the resort management needs to address. For local users considering a stay, it would be prudent to inquire directly about the current status of the pool and other amenities, as well as the resort's policies on site upkeep and pet control. Furthermore, those considering cabin rentals should specifically ask about the measures taken to ensure cleanliness and pest control.
The fact that one reviewer who had stayed multiple times was "a little disappointed this time" indicates a potential decline in the standards of the resort. This suggests that past positive experiences may not necessarily reflect the current state of the facility. Local users who may have visited Pine Mountain RV Resort previously should be aware of these recent concerns. The comparison made by one reviewer to potentially having a better experience at a hotel just 15 minutes away further emphasizes the need for careful consideration before choosing this resort.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" and considering Pine Mountain RV Resort, the recent customer reviews present a mixed picture with significant concerns regarding upkeep, amenity availability, rule enforcement, and cabin conditions. While the Pine Mountain area itself offers natural beauty, potential guests should be aware of these reported issues. It is strongly recommended that local users contact the resort directly using the provided phone numbers – (706) 663-4329 or mobile +1 706-663-4329 – to inquire about the current status of the facilities, their policies, and the specific conditions of RV sites or cabins before making a reservation. A thorough inquiry will help local campers make an informed decision and potentially avoid the negative experiences reported by recent guests.

Pine Mountain RV Resort Reviews
We have stayed here multiple times but we were a little disappointed this time. A lot of the grass needed mowing, the pool area (surroundings as I don’t think pool itself was open yet) needed some upkeep. There were a lot more “long timers” here than in the past and alot of the sites were messy and unkept and some of the campers needed some repair. There were several campers with dogs off leash at their sites, some on runners various times of the day and one tied to a tree. Clearly states you are not to do this dogs are to be on a 6 foot leash. We love this area and do like to camp here but seems the campground needs some attention in many ways.
Apr 27, 2025 · Terri JacksonWe stayed for one night. When we called, they didn't give any options other than their most expensive cabin. We were told on the phone that the cabin was ready but when we got there at 1:30, we weren't allowed to check in until 3. After checking in, we found out that there were cheaper options available for an easy one night stay, the pool was closed and the store closed at 4. We were unable to use any of the amenities since there wasn't anyone in the store to give us the basketballs, tetherball, keys to steamshower, etc. When we went to cook, we found rodent droppings in several drawers in the kitchen.Long story short, we paid over $230 for a cabin with rodents and that's it. We should have saved money and stayed an additional 15 minutes up the road at a hotel.
Apr 21, 2025 · B KThis is a beautiful campground! A little background first: we have traveled across the country full-time in our RV for the past four years and stay in lots of campgrounds. We have some basis for comparison! We stayed here for a few nights in November and really enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and their office was stocked with the basics. Most of the RV sites are paved and very level. We got a pull-thru site which had a fire pit, picnic table, electric, water, and two sewer hookups. We also saw they have stacks of grills that it looks like they are going to install soon. The shower and laundry facilities are nice. The fitness center is simple but clean. We didn't get a chance to use the pool area because it was closed for the season, but it also has a jacuzzi and a big splash pad. There's even a steam room, but that is by appointment only. The nearby town is really cute and there are some great restaurants and activities nearby. If you're planning a trip to the area, I definitely recommend this spot!
Nov 18, 2024 · Chris MattinglyIt is a great property with large spaces and beautiful grounds. Spaces have mostly level concrete pads with electric pedestals in the middle and 2 sewer connections, front and rear, which I think should be at every campground. Cable, too. We really really like this campground!
Nov 19, 2024 · Dwellion HowardWe have been visiting this park for each of the last 8 years. The staff that we have interacted with has been awesome! We are always made to feel welcome and they've always been very responsive to our needs. Sadly, the facilities have deteriorated. Windows in the buildings are dirty, The store doesn't carry many of the products that they used to. The laundry facilities are deplorable. The walls are stained, dryers do not perform well and usually required at least two cycles. We were careful not to overload them. It would be nice if the walls in the various buildings were given a fresh coat of paint. It does not appear that much has been spent on the aesthetics of the park since it was originally acquired by RVC many years ago. Let's hope they do better in the future. We really like this location for our gathering.
