Pleasant Creek Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in a tranquil setting? Pleasant Creek Campground, located at 926 N 2150th Rd, Oglesby, IL, offers a seemingly peaceful environment for those looking to relax and enjoy nature. Situated in Illinois, this campground appears to cater to both RV and tent campers, based on customer feedback. For local users seeking a getaway surrounded by trees and a sense of calm, Pleasant Creek Campground might be worth considering.
The environment of Pleasant Creek Campground is described by one reviewer as "very peaceful" with "beautiful trees." This suggests a setting where campers can enjoy the natural surroundings and a sense of quietude. The presence of squirrels also indicates a natural, possibly wooded area. For those who appreciate a serene atmosphere and the sights and sounds of nature, this environment could be a significant draw when looking for "camping near me." The campground seems to offer a respite from more bustling locations, emphasizing relaxation and the enjoyment of the outdoors.
In terms of services, Pleasant Creek Campground offers several amenities mentioned by reviewers. For RV travelers, the campground provides sites that are "easy to back in" and are gravel-based and leveled, which is crucial for a comfortable stay. The availability of a laundry room with "very affordable" machines is a practical service for longer stays or for those who prefer to have this option. Furthermore, restrooms and showers are available for campers' use. However, it's important to note a significant point raised in a review regarding the cleanliness of the showers, which was described negatively.
Features of Pleasant Creek Campground include pet-friendliness, as one reviewer mentioned staying with their service dog. The peaceful ambiance and the natural setting with trees and wildlife can also be considered key features, appealing to those seeking a relaxing outdoor experience. The leveled gravel pads for RVs are another feature that contributes to the convenience and comfort for RV campers. On the less positive side, a review mentioned a charge of $6 per device for internet access and the need to drive up a "big hill" to the dump station, which might be a consideration for some campers.
One of the positive aspects highlighted in a review is the friendliness and kindness of the "entire family staff." Positive interactions with campground staff can greatly enhance the overall camping experience, making guests feel welcome and valued. This personal touch seems to be a strength of Pleasant Creek Campground, according to one satisfied visitor.
However, it is crucial to address the negative feedback provided in another review. This camper described the showers as "scary" and "disgusting," even including a photo to illustrate their condition. They mentioned a large hairball and the need to wear flip-flops for hygiene. While acknowledging that the water was hot and the toilets were kept clean, the state of the showers was a significant concern for this reviewer. Additionally, they noted a sign advising against using too much toilet paper due to septic problems, which was also associated with a noticeable smell. These points are important for potential campers to be aware of when considering Pleasant Creek Campground.
Regarding promotional information, none was explicitly provided in the reviews. Therefore, we must focus on the objective information gleaned from the customer experiences. The peaceful environment, the friendly staff, and the practical amenities like laundry facilities are positive aspects that could attract campers. Conversely, the reported issues with the showers and the septic system, as well as the additional cost for internet and the uphill dump station, might deter some.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Pleasant Creek Campground offers a location in Oglesby, IL, with easy access for a 27-foot travel trailer and a peaceful, tree-filled setting. The availability of leveled gravel pads for RVs, a clean laundry room, and friendly staff are definite pluses. However, potential campers should be aware of the reported cleanliness issues with the showers and the septic system, as well as the extra charges for internet and the location of the dump station.

Pleasant Creek Campground Reviews
My husband, my service dog, and I thoroughly loved staying here. We have a 27-foot travel trailer. Easy to back in. A very peaceful place to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful trees and squirrels. Our pad was gravel and leveled. The entire family staff were so nice and kind. The laundry room was clean, and the machines were very affordable. The restooms and showers were clean as well. Thank you for having this beautiful Campground.
Sep 26, 2024 · Meaghans GardenThe showers were scary. I left a photo. At least the water was hot. I kept my flip flops on during my shower. When coming out there was a huge hair ball stuck to my flip flops. So gross. The toilets were kept clean but the showers were disgusting. Also a sign was posted to not use much toilet paper because of septic problems. No kidding, it could be smelled. You have to pay 6 dollars for internet per device. Also you have to drive up a big hill to the dump station.
Oct 27, 2024 · Kat Mi (katkat)Update on our stay. We absolutely loved Larry. He is a gem. Not sure of the gentleman's name, but he was the person who mowed the lawns and emptied all the seasonal RVS black and grey tanks. You are also a life saver gem. Our handle came loose on our RV and I needed a drill bit. He personally delivered it to our site. All was fixed and I do hope you found the drill bit by the maintenance barn in front. Your nephew was also kind, courteous, and a gentleman. We did not have the pleasure of meeting his daughter. But she was working hard at cleaning the restrooms and laundry room.I love supporting family owned business.Thank you very much for a perfect week.MeaghansGarden
Sep 29, 2024 · BirdieThe camp manager and his wife were very accommodating. They helped us out of a very serious problems with our Hot Rod. Dan is a great guy and takes his position seriously. The only time he becomes involved when the other workers have exhausted all their efforts and they have to call him for backup with any trouble makers. When you see a bad review about the grumpy old man, it’s more than likely that person needed to check their actions. Thank you all for an extremely nice visit and Ed and I are truly grateful for all you help and kindness.
Oct 13, 2024 · Cynthia HiltonStayed here for a few days with my girlfriend, the man at the general store was super nice every time we went in, the campground was super clean, the bathrooms were clean and out site was fairly close to them. Reasonably priced, it was very peaceful and located closely to Starved Rock and Matthiasen. Will be back! :)
