Poppy's Pointe Reviews
It was our first time camping in our camper--the hosts were so great to help direct us backing into our spot. The neighbors (I think they were full-timers) were really super nice and the campground was not rowdy. It would have been the perfect spot if the lake level was higher as there was a staircase that would lead directly to it--so if being directly on the lake is important to you, I would check levels before booking. It was still a great stay tho, it was fun to walk on the shore. Owners were also really kind as we were running behind check out time putting our rig together to leave (again, it was our first time, lol!) Perfect first camping spot.
Apr 22, 2024 · Crista WallaceGreat people run this place. We had an awesome time at the 2024 Solar Eclipse on April 8th.Lots of nice people and the bluebonnets were awesome...the reservoir was down while we were there so we got to explore the lake bed and enjoyed wildflowers!
Apr 12, 2024 · C Daddy (Florida Man)Not happy that our family getaway got cut short because of our cabins air conditioning unit not working properly. It wasn’t cooling down at all and we had 5 kids with us, there’s no way we were going to let our kids suffer in that heat. We had let the owner know about the AC but there wasn't too much effort on his part to fix the issue. They seemed annoyed with us from the beginning and that really bothered me. My mother in law had been planning this trip for months and when she arrived to check in, the owners did not accommodate her with the cabin that she had originally requested. I’m assuming someone else came along and paid a little more money to get the cabin we were supposed to have. The whole facility was just run down and needs to just be cleaned and a little bit of renovation wouldn’t hurt. Would NOT recommend. Extremely disappointing for our kids, they were excited to make s’mores and have a camp fire and do all the fun camping activities. Granted, they did refund us for a one night. But only after my mother in law went and talked to the owner and complained, don’t think it would’ve happened otherwise.
Jun 12, 2023 · Christina VerdiguelI was truly looking for a place to park my RV. She approached my car with a look of "yeah, im the boss, who are you?" I never did see her smile. Anyway $375.00 lot rent(long term) per month, that's Cheap!! plus your electricity. Oh and by the way,, she wouldn't rent to me because she has an aversion to window units in RV's. I saw adults and kids in the pool, the place is really nice if you don't mind kids and an angry land lady, it was clean and quiet... I didn't eat at their restaurant maybe she's the cook ...it was really quiet. I went back to my car with out looking around, since I was invited to leave I guessed that maybe getting out of there was a good idea. It's surrounded by a privacy fence and it's really quiet.
Jul 11, 2023 · HopeThe place is clean. The kids and adults alike had fun in the pool. We stayed in 2 different floor plan cabins. The managers (James and Alexa) were super nice and social. We will definitely be staying again.
