Queen Lily Campground Introduce
For local adventurers seeking "camping near me" with access to stunning scenery and outdoor activities, Queen Lily Campground, located in California, USA (specific address not provided but associated with Lassen Volcanic National Park), offers a potentially rewarding experience. You can reach them for inquiries at (877) 444-6777 or +1 877-444-6777. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a generally pleasant environment with some notable amenities and access to the natural wonders of the Lassen area.
The environment of Queen Lily Campground is closely tied to the impressive scenery of the Lassen Volcanic National Park region. One of the standout features mentioned by a visitor is the proximity to water, with some campsites being just a short 25-foot walk down to enjoy it. The sound of the water was also appreciated, contributing to a peaceful ambiance during their stay in mid-September 2024. The campground's location near Lassen suggests a landscape characterized by volcanic features, forests, and lakes, offering a unique and dramatic backdrop for camping. While the specific type of water access (lake, river, or creek) is not detailed, its presence is a significant environmental asset. Furthermore, the abundance of trails around the campground and within an easy drive provides ample opportunities for exploring the natural beauty of the area, including the recommended Reflection Lake Trail, just across the main road, offering great views within a half-mile walk. Campers are also advised to be mindful of the altitude, as temperatures can drop significantly at night, necessitating preparation for colder conditions. For those seeking "camping near me" amidst impressive natural scenery with water access and numerous hiking trails, Queen Lily Campground's environment is a major draw.
Queen Lily Campground offers several services and features aimed at providing a comfortable camping experience. A pleasant surprise for one visitor was the presence of flush toilets and sinks in the restrooms, indicating a level of amenity that might not be expected at all campgrounds. The restrooms were also noted to be "well maintained," reflecting positively on the park staff's efforts. However, a significant issue reported by a visitor was the lack of potable water during their stay. This led them to suggest a discount on the $35/night charge, which they found somewhat expensive compared to similar campgrounds, especially without potable water. Another point to consider is that the camp store was closed and under renovation during one visitor's trip. While this didn't pose a major problem for their one-night stay, it could be inconvenient for those needing supplies. Despite these drawbacks, the overall sentiment of at least one reviewer was positive enough that they would "definitely go there again," hoping the water issue would be resolved. The availability of numerous trails directly from or a short drive from the campground is a significant service for hikers and nature enthusiasts. For local users looking for "camping near me" with maintained restrooms and access to trails, Queen Lily Campground offers these, but potential issues with potable water and the camp store's operational status should be considered.
The features of Queen Lily Campground include its proximity to water for some campsites, enhancing the camping experience with both auditory and visual appeal. The presence of flush toilets and sinks in the restrooms offers a level of convenience not always found in campgrounds. The abundance of trails in the vicinity, including the easily accessible and scenic Reflection Lake Trail, is a major feature for those interested in hiking and exploring the Lassen area. The campground is situated at an altitude where nighttime temperatures can get quite cold, a feature that requires campers to come prepared with appropriate gear. One reviewer noted that the campsites felt a "little too close together" and that the campground seemed to have "too many in one spot," leading to smoky conditions when multiple campfires were lit in the evening. This suggests that while the campground offers a communal atmosphere, some campers might find the proximity of sites less than ideal for privacy or air quality during peak campfire times. The $35/night charge was mentioned as potentially high by one visitor, especially given the lack of potable water during their stay. For local residents seeking "camping near me" with water access, maintained restrooms, and trail access, Queen Lily Campground offers these features, but the potential for crowded campsites, smoky conditions, and the possibility of non-potable water at a relatively higher cost should be taken into account.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information provided in the reviews for Queen Lily Campground. One visitor did suggest a discount due to the lack of potable water, implying that such issues might warrant a price adjustment in the eyes of some campers. For local users searching for "camping near me," it would be advisable to check official park websites or booking platforms for any ongoing promotions, seasonal rates, or advisories regarding the availability of amenities like potable water and the status of the camp store. Given the positive aspects highlighted, such as the scenic location, water access, maintained restrooms, and proximity to trails, the campground likely attracts visitors based on its inherent appeal within the Lassen Volcanic National Park region. Potential campers might look for information on off-season rates or any special packages that might be offered. However, based solely on the provided reviews, no concrete promotional offers are mentioned.
In conclusion, Queen Lily Campground offers a "camping near me" option that serves as a gateway to the impressive scenery of the Lassen Volcanic National Park area in California. Its environment boasts proximity to water for some sites and easy access to a plethora of hiking trails, including the scenic Reflection Lake Trail. The presence of maintained flush toilets and sinks is a notable amenity. However, potential campers should be aware of the possibility of non-potable water, which one visitor felt warranted a price reduction from the $35/night fee. Additionally, the camp store may be closed or under renovation, and the campsites might feel somewhat close together, potentially leading to smoky evenings with multiple campfires. The altitude also means that cold nighttime temperatures are a possibility, requiring appropriate preparation. Despite these considerations, the overall positive sentiment from at least one repeat visitor suggests that Queen Lily Campground's natural setting and access to Lassen's wonders make it a worthwhile option for local users seeking a "camping near me" experience, provided they are prepared for the potential drawbacks and inquire about the current status of amenities before their visit.

Queen Lily Campground Reviews
Was nice & quiet the weekend we were there. (9/17/24) Love that we could hear water and walk 25 ft down to enjoy it. Happily surprised to find flush toilets & sinks. No potable water while we were there, so would have been nice to have a discount off the $35/night charge which seems pretty expensive in comparison to similar campgrounds. Overall, would definitely go there again and just hope the water issue is fixed and it is still as peaceful.
Aug 22, 2024 · Ann NelsonI liked this place. The scenery around Lassen is impressive! But... The time we went the camp store was closed and under renovation (fortunately I didn't forget anything major and was only there one night.) Also, IMHO the camp spaces are a little too close together and there are too many in one spot so when everyone lit a fire at night it was pretty smoky. Still... Completely fine for just one day, ymmv. The restrooms were well maintained, so thx to the park staff for making sure about that.PLENTY of trails around the camp or an easy drive away. Don't miss the reflection lake trail. It's across the main road from the camp site and only half a mile, but has some great views. Also, look at the weather / temp forecast. It's at altitude and can get pretty cold at night.
Jun 01, 2024 · Meadhbh HamrickThis area was just burnt by the 2021 #DixieFire, so all the campgrounds on CARIBOU ROAD are closed to the public for a year or more. Kinda pricey for High Voltage campground. Although the river will lull you to sleep, the EMF are powerful inside this Sierra Canyon. Power lines run above all three campgrounds in this area.
Aug 01, 2021 · Dana MiteQueen Lily Campground is one of the cleanest, most well maintained campgrounds I have ever camped at. The bathrooms were spotless and even smelled good. The hosts, Rocky and Patti, although an older couple were attentive and helpful. They were very professional and obviously enjoyed what they do. I already have reservations for next year. Rocky and Patti, thank you for a great camping experience.
Jun 16, 2019 · Bob DePalmaLovely area, but $25 per night is silly when some of the sites have no trees in sight. Selling firewood at $7 a bundle is more than supermarkets charge; especially when it's soft wood that's gone in an hour. Superb private spots available at no charge above the second single lane bridge.
