One of the highlights was seeing a salamander up close—something I had never seen before!While Ruby Falls was nice, I believe Raccoon Caverns truly deserves more attention and appreciation. My son and I went to Raccoon Mountain for Spring Break and had the most amazing time. Beautiful views, quiet campground, very close to Rock City and Ruby Falls and the people who work the campground are super sweet and very helpful. Will definitely be staying there again soon. 10 out of 10 recommend.

First time taking a new RV 1983 Ford Honey, 24ft and don’t think I could’ve picked a better spot. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful views around you. Staff is extremely friendly, check in was easy, guided to spot and firewood delivered. Very sweet ladies at the office. Gravel roads well maintained and nice bathhouses/property. I especially enjoyed the Cave tours more, Michael our guide was amazing and one of the friendliest people. Very informative and knowledgeable, I learned so much about caves and even saw a few salamanders! Great experience overall, would love to come back.

Would never stay here again! My four-day reservations were paid in full at the time of our reservation. But we had mechanical problems, which caused an arrival delay. I called to ask if we could move our reservation dates one day, but I was treated rudely. I didn't even want to cancel a day, I just asked to be moved. I spoke with Bonnie. She did not say there were no spots available for the new dates, she said NO - I called too late, and they would not move my reservation. I was even able to call four days before our arrival date. And, based on her nasty response, I did inquire about a refund for the one night we could not make. BIG MISTAKE. That made her even angrier. She said, "Absolutely not, we DON'T give refunds." I get they have a strict "no refund" policy, but since they did not want to accommodate the change, and we had mechanical problems, I hoped for a one-night refund as a courtesy. I didn't ask for a change of arrival on a whim. An expensive mechanical issue caused our delay. Anyone with an RV understands how frustrating travel changes, unexpected delays, and/or mechanical problems can be - even RV Parks we stayed at in the past. Kindness is a virtue that this campground does not possess.A few days before our original reservation - I got a text confirmation for my original dates. So I called to make sure they remembered my situation and aware I was arriving a day later. I heard Bonnie in the background telling the person helping me - "they will keep the three out of four days (which were paid in full in advance anyway), but I could not get a refund!" Yes, she told me the first time I called!Additionally, the spots are very close together, you can hear dogs barking constantly, and the hook-ups are poorly maintained. This is one person's experience. I would not recommend this campground.

The campground is well kept, clean, dog friendly and not too far from restaurants, gas stations Walmart or downtown. The staff members are really helpful and super nice. The manager was even there helping her staff and talking to the campers. Make sure you do the cave tour while there, it’s absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this park.
