You can reach them at (435) 789-6614 or +1 435-789-6614. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground within Red Fleet State Park provides a friendly welcome, clean facilities, and access to the fascinating dinosaur tracks for which the area is known. While there are some considerations regarding campsite spacing and amenities like showers, Red Fleet Campground appears to be a popular choice for families and adventure seekers.
The Environment: Lakeside Beauty and Dinosaur History
Red Fleet Campground is situated within Red Fleet State Park, known for its stunning red rock landscapes and the Red Fleet Reservoir. The environment is characterized by the striking contrast of the reddish-brown sandstone cliffs against the blue waters of the reservoir. This creates a visually appealing backdrop for camping and various water activities. The reservoir is a significant feature, offering opportunities for boating, kayaking, and swimming. One reviewer specifically mentioned the pleasant water temperature in late July. A unique environmental aspect of Red Fleet State Park is its dinosaur track site. While accessible via a 3-mile round trip hike, the reviews suggest that kayaking or swimming on the reservoir offers a more direct route to viewing these prehistoric footprints. The absence of noticeable mosquitos during a late July stay is also a positive environmental note for visitors during the summer months. The overall environment combines scenic beauty with a sense of geological history, making it a distinctive camping destination in Utah.
Services and Amenities: Friendly Hosts and Basic Facilities
The service at Red Fleet Campground is highlighted positively in the reviews. One visitor described the host lady at the booth as "very friendly," creating a welcoming first impression. The campground itself is reported to be clean, indicating good maintenance. For day visitors or campers, picnic cover tables are available, providing shaded areas for meals and gatherings. A boat ramp is present, described as wide and easy to access, making it convenient for those bringing boats to enjoy the reservoir. While the campground offers flushing toilets, it's important to note that showers are not available on-site. For campers who value this amenity, this could be a significant consideration. Wi-Fi is available for purchase, with options for one night ($3) and three nights ($7), as well as longer durations (14 and 21 days, prices not specified). This paid Wi-Fi service can be useful for those needing internet access, especially given the reported lack of T-mobile cell service. The availability of a boat ramp suggests that boating is a popular activity on the reservoir, and the mention of many people kayaking further indicates the water-based recreational opportunities.
Features: Dinosaur Tracks, Water Activities, and Compact Campsites
A primary feature of Red Fleet Campground is its proximity to the Red Fleet Dinosaur Trackway. While accessible by hiking, the unique opportunity to kayak or swim to the tracks directly from the reservoir adds an adventurous element to a visit. The reservoir itself is a major feature, offering a wide range of water activities such as boating, kayaking, and swimming. The clean campgrounds and the provision of picnic cover tables enhance the comfort and convenience of staying at Red Fleet. The friendly campground host contributes to a positive overall experience. However, one notable drawback mentioned in the reviews is the spacing of the campsites, which are described as "really packed in" and "basically just wide parking stalls right next to each other." This lack of space between sites might reduce the sense of privacy for some campers. The absence of showers is another feature to consider when planning a stay. The availability of paid Wi-Fi can be a plus for those needing internet access, but the lack of free Wi-Fi and the reported absence of T-mobile cell service might be a limitation for others.

Red Fleet Campground Reviews
The host lady at the booth was very friendly and told us to take a look around and if we decided to stay we could come back to pay her. It's a very nice place. Camp grounds are clean and there are also picnic cover tables for the day a boat ramp that's wide and easy to get too quite a few people kayaking in the water below.
Aug 16, 2022 · mini hawaiian girlWe stayed here on July 23rd, for one night. There were no noticable mosquitos, abd the water was a nice temperature. If you want to see the dinosaur tracks, I definitely recommend kayaking or swimming, the hike to it is about 3 miles round trip. I have t-mobile and I didn't have any service whatsoever. You can purchase the wifi that they have which is $3 for one night and $7 for 3 nights. There is also an option for 14 days and 21 but I didn't check the prices. I think my family will definitely come back, as the weather was good and it seemed like a really nice place. There are no showers but they have flushing toilets. The campsites are really packed in, they're basically just wide parking stalls right next to each other.
Jul 24, 2022 · Shylo MoserBeautiful camp area, plentiful areas to picnic and bbq. Large lake to enjoy, boats for rents and beautiful views. This park has everything and their staff was very friendly!
Jun 22, 2018 · Danielle ReimersWell worth the stop. The view is great. I went in the off season so they didn’t have much going on.
May 24, 2023 · BrandenBeautiful place, beaches are not perfect now because water level is very low but still ok.
