You can reach them by phone at (803) 337-4085 or their mobile number, +1 803-337-4085, to inquire about their current offerings and availability. Based on recent customer feedback, the campground is under new ownership and is reportedly focusing on creating a quieter and more peaceful environment for its guests.
When considering campgrounds in the "camping near me" category, local users often look for a balance of convenience, comfort, and a pleasant atmosphere. Ridgeway Campground appears to be undergoing positive changes under its new owner, Andy, who is credited with addressing previous issues and fostering a more tranquil setting. This focus on peace and quiet could be particularly appealing to those seeking a relaxing break from the everyday hustle.
One significant convenience highlighted in the reviews is the presence of a gas station and convenience store on-site. This amenity can be invaluable for campers who need to replenish fuel or grab essential items without having to make a trip into town. Whether it's for those last-minute necessities you forgot to pack or a quick snack and drink, having a store within the campground can greatly enhance the convenience of your stay, especially for shorter stopovers.
According to one positive review, Ridgeway Campground is recommended for both stopovers and extended stays, suggesting that it caters to a variety of camping needs. The emphasis on the quiet and peaceful atmosphere further reinforces its appeal for those looking to relax and unwind during their time there.
However, it's important to consider all aspects of the feedback provided. Another reviewer noted the availability of power hookups, which is a significant advantage for RV travelers. However, this review also pointed out a lack of a grey water dumping facility, which is a crucial consideration for RV owners planning to stay for more than a very short period. It is essential for RVers to confirm the availability of a dump station or plan accordingly for waste disposal.
The same reviewer also mentioned that the campground appeared "pretty much run down," with uncut grass and the presence of two dilapidated-looking trailers on some sites. This suggests that while the new ownership may be focusing on improving the atmosphere, the overall maintenance and aesthetic condition of the campground might still be a work in progress. Local users who prioritize a well-maintained and visually appealing environment may want to inquire about the current condition of the sites and facilities before booking.
In summary, based on the available reviews, Ridgeway Campground offers the following features and considerations for local users searching for "camping near me":
- A reportedly quiet and peaceful atmosphere under new ownership.
- The significant convenience of an on-site gas station and convenience store.
- Availability of power hookups for RVs.
- Recommendation for both stopovers and potentially extended stays.
- Possible lack of a grey water dumping facility (to be confirmed).
- Potential for a somewhat run-down appearance and need for general maintenance (current status to be confirmed).
For local campers considering Ridgeway Campground, it would be prudent to contact the new owner, Andy, at (803) 337-4085 or +1 803-337-4085 to get the most up-to-date information on the campground's amenities, current condition, and any ongoing improvements. Specifically, inquiring about the availability of a dump station for RVs and the general upkeep of the campsites would be beneficial in making an informed decision.
While the convenience of the on-site store and the promise of a quieter environment under new management are definite positives, potential campers should also be aware of the reported maintenance issues and the lack of a grey water disposal facility. Depending on your camping style and needs, these factors may influence your decision to choose Ridgeway Campground for your local "camping near me" experience.
Ultimately, Ridgeway Campground presents a mixed picture based on the limited recent feedback. The new ownership seems to be a positive development, focusing on creating a more peaceful atmosphere. The convenience of the gas station/store is a significant advantage. However, potential campers should verify the availability of essential amenities like a dump station and inquire about the current condition of the campground to ensure it meets their expectations for a comfortable and convenient stay in the Ridgeway, SC area.

Ridgeway Campground Reviews
The new owner Andy has gotten rid of all the bad apples. It's quiet and peaceful. The gas station /convenience store is great for those little things you don't want to drive into town for. We would definitely recommend this place for a stopover or extended stay
Jul 08, 2018 · Brenda WassonIt was nice to stop and plug into power, but no place to dump grey water. It appeared pretty much run down, grass hadn't been mowed in a while. Two site had fallen down looking trailers on them. But it was good to plug into power.
Oct 12, 2019 · Stanley WoodSeems shady but in my three week stay nothing bad happed. All the full timer campers were friendly. Only down side was the dump site pull through was crowded by another camper.
