River Ridge Park Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Burlington, Kentucky area, River Ridge Park, located at 8637 Lower River Rd, Burlington, KY 41005, USA, offers a camping experience with scenic views of the Ohio River and a range of amenities. Based on the available customer reviews, the campground presents a mix of positive aspects, including its location and community feel, alongside some areas for potential improvement. Let's delve into the environment, services, and features of River Ridge Park.
The environment of River Ridge Park is clearly a significant draw, with one reviewer highlighting the "great view of the Ohio River." This suggests a picturesque setting where campers can enjoy waterfront scenery. The presence of "huge trees" at some lots indicates that there are shaded areas, which can be particularly appealing during warmer months. The lots themselves are described as "gravel," which can offer better drainage and stability compared to grass or dirt. One reviewer who stayed on the lowest level near the boat ramp found it "fairly quiet," although they did note some noise from the nearby ferry. This suggests that while generally peaceful, the proximity to the river also brings some associated sounds. Overall, the environment seems to blend natural beauty with the functional aspects of a campground.
In terms of services and features, River Ridge Park offers several amenities to enhance the camping experience. A "pool" is mentioned, providing a recreational option for guests, especially during warmer weather. There is also a "Pavilion with corn hole and grill," suggesting a communal space for outdoor activities and cooking. The presence of a "party room" indicates an indoor space that can be used for gatherings, as evidenced by the invitation to a potluck during a rainy 4th of July weekend. The campground also has a store that "sells beer, snacks and sundries," offering convenience for campers who may need basic supplies or refreshments. For those interested in exploring the local area, River Ridge Park boasts "close access to Grand Victoria Casino Ferry, Rabbit Hash, The Creation Museum, The Ark or just relaxing," indicating a variety of nearby attractions.
However, one reviewer who stayed for three months as part of a work camping assignment noted that "the bathrooms are not very clean, with mold in the showers." This is a point of concern that potential visitors should be aware of. On a more positive note, this reviewer also mentioned a "common kitchen/dining area that is very comfortable and easy to use for meals or group gatherings," which could be a valuable amenity, particularly for longer stays or group camping. They also found the folks in the office and on-site to be "nice."
Promotional information is somewhat implicit in the positive aspects highlighted by the reviewers, such as the river views, pool, and friendly atmosphere. The mention of a "reasonable rate" by one reviewer suggests that the campground offers good value for money. The invitation to the potluck can also be seen as a promotion of the community spirit within the park. Additionally, the accessibility to various local attractions adds to its appeal for those looking to combine camping with sightseeing.
For local users searching for "camping near me," River Ridge Park offers a location with appealing environmental features, including Ohio River views and mature trees. The amenities such as a pool, pavilion, and store provide convenience and recreational opportunities. The friendly nature of the staff and the sense of community, as highlighted by the potluck invitation, are also positive aspects. However, the cleanliness of the bathrooms, as mentioned by one reviewer, is an area that prospective visitors might want to consider.
When planning a visit, one reviewer offered a helpful tip regarding navigation: "if you’re coming I-75 take exit 181/KY 18 not the Walton exit as your GPS suggests!!" This local knowledge can be valuable for first-time visitors to ensure a smoother arrival.
To get a more comprehensive understanding of the current conditions and to address the concerns about bathroom cleanliness, local users might want to contact River Ridge Park directly at (859) 586-7282 or +1 859-586-7282. Inquiring about recent maintenance or improvements to the facilities could provide a clearer picture. Overall, River Ridge Park appears to be a campground with a lot to offer, particularly its scenic location and friendly community, though potential visitors should be aware of the mixed feedback regarding the cleanliness of the restrooms.
In conclusion, River Ridge Park in Burlington, KY, offers a camping experience with lovely views of the Ohio River, a pool, a pavilion with activities, and a store. The staff and fellow campers are generally described as friendly. While one reviewer noted issues with bathroom cleanliness, the overall positive sentiment regarding the location, community, and reasonable rates suggests that it could be a worthwhile option for local users seeking "camping near me." Just be sure to follow the recommended exit from I-75 for easier arrival.

River Ridge Park Reviews
Stayed at River Ridge over the 4th of July. Although the rain put a damper on festivities we were invited to participate in the party room and join their potluck! The lots are gravel and some have huge trees, great view of the Ohio River, pool, Pavilion with corn hole and grill and CLEAN restrooms and showers. Close access to Grand Victoria Casino Ferry, Rabbit Hash, The Creation Museum, The Ark or just relaxing.Their store sells beer, snacks and sundries. My only suggestion is if you’re coming I-75 take exit 181/KY 18 not the Walton exit as your GPS suggests!! Reasonable rate and friendly folks!
Jul 12, 2023 · Louise GrivettiStayed here three months as part of a work camping assignment for Amazon. Nice folks in the office and on site. There’s a common kitchen/dining area that is very comfortable and easy to use for meals or group gatherings. The bathrooms are not very clean, with mold in the showers.I chose a spot on the lowest level, near the boat ramp. It was fairly quiet, except for some noise from the ferry close by.
Jan 31, 2020 · Michelle FreshwaterWe were just passing through and needed a place to park for the night in our camper van. Ms. Collene is the super cool gal running the place and she was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. It's an RV park, not a campground, so no frills but it did the job. Many of the residents were not back from "wintering" in the south so no issues with the neighbors. The price was a bit more than I like to spend for a night to just sleep but it was comparable to other campgrounds in the area. Sites have 50A receptacles so you will need an adapter if you have 30A or less and need to plug in (we didn't). HOT water in the showers...VERY nice... and we could tell they have been updated recently. Great view of the Ohio River and sunset. I would stay here again.
Apr 24, 2024 · Keith AdkinsThe only reason I did 4 stars is because the site would’ve been nice to have room for a picnic table and more level. However this was a good place to stay. Pool was nice, people there were extremely friendly and helpful. It was nice and quiet too. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you Louise and Colleen!!! Till we meet again.
Jul 20, 2023 · Melissa WallingThey also have a swimming pool. Colleen is more than kind, professional, helpful. Colleen did everything to accommodate us, at a very serious medical condition, our daughter had. We were looking for a full hook up campsite. I highly recommend this campground. Everyone there were very nice and helpful, and friendly.
