The "beautiful walks (near a dam)" offer additional opportunities for scenic strolls and enjoying the natural surroundings.
The mention of "blackberry picking" suggests a seasonal opportunity to engage in a fun and rewarding activity, allowing campers to enjoy the natural bounty of the area. The "spacious camp sites" contribute to a comfortable and relaxed camping experience, providing enough room for various camping setups and activities within the site.

Schwarz Campground Reviews
Family friendly, Friendly and helpful rangers, Beautiful views (especially early in the a.m) beautiful walks (near a dam), blackberry picking, family and pet friendly hiking trail, does have curfew at 10pm. no alcohol/cannabis use..kinda lame but understandable, very respectful neighbors and spacious camp sites. 2 minute drive away from Bake Bay Lake. Only camped here a few times for 3 nights, and it was all around a wonderful place to camp and make memories, made new friends, and enjoy scenic views and family fun.
Mar 28, 2025 · Tamra PittsleyThe campground itself is clean and well-maintained, however the restrooms lacked soap of any kind. It is also much farther away from the lake than it seems when looking on the website. We had to travel to a different day use area and pay a fee in order to play in the lake. There is a pleasant walk to the dam.
Jul 28, 2024 · Melissa McCrohanVery level campsite. Nice and open like a city park. There was a mountain next to our site (15) had fun with my binoculars checking the tiny stream coming down. The creek at the back of our loop was was super flooded so couldn't take my kid down to the water as the current was quite swift. Some of the further back loops for tent campers looked like they were very close to the water. My son loved the playground and it was nice to be at a campground that actually had people working there, a host and someone came to give me the papers and the newsletter with map the next morning. Close to town with good grocery store and Walmart. Probably better if you have a boat.
Jun 19, 2022 · Taylor BovinichAmazing place camp!! Great camp host & volunteers, every camp site very clean & nice. Great bathrooms with warm showers, provide life jackets. Accessibility to fishing & swimming areas - big fish and turtles there too!! Had best kid friendly camping experience ever!!!
Aug 09, 2021 · Kayla Stahr WagonerUPDATE: I have lowered my rating from 5 to 4 stars now. I came back a second time to camp here and my experience was completely different. The place was packed with only two sites left and we snagged a spot. We were in the back near a large group of Church people. They were extremely loud and ran their generators into the wee hours of the night and had no respect for others around them. Cars from the Church group will leave the campsite late at night and light up the whole campsite, some of them driving ridiculously fast. Calls to gather in singing and prayers are amplified throughout the campsite on a loud speaker, leaving smoking pits of fire unattended. Kids without helmets run around the place at night on bicycles, flashing their flashlights directly into your face. The only thing to look forward to is walking the trails around Dorena Lake, viewing the dam, or driving around the area to escape the noise. If I ever camp here again, it will definitely not be on a weekend.°°°°°°°°°°The first time I stayed here I felt at home. I cooked dinner then watched the stars when it got dark. This place is relaxing, quiet, and family friendly. There are showers, dish washing station, and clean bathrooms to use. Staying here made me want to live there permanently. I would definitely recommend this camp site.
