Scout Ridge Youth Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience immersed in the natural beauty of Indiana, Scout Ridge Youth Campground, located on Scout Ridge Rd in Unionville, IN 47468, USA, offers a rustic and outdoors-focused option. Situated within the expansive Morgan-Monroe State Forest, this smaller camping site provides a gateway to a wealth of natural attractions and recreational opportunities. While the name suggests a youth-oriented focus, the positive reviews from various campers indicate its appeal to a wider range of outdoor enthusiasts.
The environment surrounding Scout Ridge Youth Campground is undoubtedly its primary draw. Being located within Morgan-Monroe State Forest, campers are enveloped in "lots of natural beauty with so very many trees and different types of plants." This vast forest is known for its rugged terrain, diverse ecosystems, and scenic vistas, offering a true escape into nature. The отзыв (review) mentioning "only upsides" in terms of the environment speaks to the appeal of this location for those who love the great outdoors. The proximity to numerous trails, both "big trails and small trails," makes it an excellent base for hiking and exploring the forest. One camper specifically hopes to bring bikes on their next visit to take advantage of these trails, indicating their suitability for cycling as well. The overall environment promises a tranquil and nature-rich experience for local users searching for "camping near me" that emphasizes immersion in the natural world.
The services and features at Scout Ridge Youth Campground appear to be more basic and geared towards self-sufficient campers who prioritize the natural setting over extensive amenities. The campground itself is described as a "small camping site with spots to pull car or trailers," suggesting accessibility for different types of camping setups. Each site is equipped with essential features such as "picnic tables and small fire pits," providing a designated area for meals and campfires. A notable service mentioned is the presence of "a bathroom with locking door," indicating a basic level of sanitation for campers' convenience. Additionally, the campground offers a "shelter house with grills," providing a communal space for cooking and gathering, which could be particularly useful for groups or during inclement weather. One отзыв mentions the availability of firewood for purchase at the office for a "super cheap" price of $5 for a cart full of logs, which is a valuable service for campers who may not find sufficient "dead fall" for fires on their specific site, especially as the weather gets colder.
The отзыв noting the lack of "much dead fall to use" for firewood on one particular spot highlights the importance of being prepared or utilizing the available service for purchasing wood. The camper's practice of batoning logs down before setting a fire suggests a more experienced approach to camping, aligning with the likely rustic nature of the campground. The emphasis on the natural environment and the basic amenities suggests that Scout Ridge Youth Campground caters to those who are comfortable with a more traditional and less developed camping experience, focusing on enjoying the forest and its recreational opportunities.

Scout Ridge Youth Campground Reviews
Always a fun time camping at Morgan-Monroe. There aren't any downsides, only upsides as far as I'm concerned. Hope to bring bikes next time and see how those trails go.I noticed the spot we were all at didn't have much dead fall to use. As its getting colder bringing extra wood or bying extra from the office ($5 for a nice cartfull of logs is super cheap). I usually baton the logs down a little before setting a fire. Always looking forward to returning again soon! 😎

Oct 05, 2021 · Pat BohannonVery neat place to camp, but for some reason there is a large volume of late night traffic. We have visitors all hours of the night with blaring radios. The just wandered in and back out. Quiet hours were not adhered to at all. Luckily the party goers were far enough away that our scouts could sleep. They were in site A, and we were in E. Otherwise the place was what we are used to. The pit toilets were clean and well stocked, there was no trash on site and they had recently filled in the dips in the road with new gravel.
