The environment surrounding Stonemason Site is truly captivating. As one visitor enthusiastically noted, the scenery is "gorgeous," immediately setting a tone of tranquility and natural wonder. A significant feature of this campground is the presence of a stream that meanders through the area. The soothing sounds of flowing water and the opportunity for streamside relaxation enhance the overall camping ambiance, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Imagine waking up to the gentle murmur of the stream and enjoying your morning coffee amidst such serene surroundings.
In terms of services and features, Stonemason Site is equipped to provide a comfortable and convenient camping experience. Many reviewers highlighted the well-maintained cooking and fire pit areas. These designated spaces are perfect for preparing delicious meals outdoors and gathering around a crackling fire in the evenings, sharing stories and creating lasting memories under the starry Utah sky. The availability of "awesome spots to play, camp and park" indicates that the campground offers ample space for various activities and ensures that parking your vehicle and setting up your campsite is a hassle-free process. Furthermore, the convenience of a nearby dumpster is a practical amenity that contributes to keeping the campground clean and enjoyable for all visitors. Campers appreciated that it "wasn't too far to haul the gear," suggesting that the layout of the campground is thoughtfully designed for ease of access.
One of the location-based advantages of Stonemason Site is its proximity to Tibble Fork Reservoir. While one visitor mentioned the challenge of finding parking at the reservoir due to its popularity, the close proximity suggests that campers at Stonemason Site have easy access to the recreational opportunities offered by Tibble Fork, such as hiking, fishing, and potentially boating, depending on regulations and accessibility. The comment about the water temperature being similar at the camp and the reservoir might be relevant for those planning water-related activities, although further details on this aspect would be beneficial.
Stonemason Site is described as "family friendly," making it an ideal choice for those looking to introduce children to the joys of camping and the outdoors. The spacious spots for playing and camping further support this family-oriented atmosphere, providing a safe and engaging environment for all age groups. For individuals who have been camping enthusiasts for years, Stonemason Site has remained a "favorite," a testament to its enduring appeal and consistent quality.
It is important to note that Stonemason Site is a "dry camp," meaning that it does not offer electrical hookups for RVs or other camping equipment. Campers should come prepared with their own power sources, such as generators or battery packs, and be self-sufficient in terms of water supply. This aspect caters to a more traditional camping experience, emphasizing a connection with nature and self-reliance.
However, it is crucial to address a significant concern raised by multiple reviewers regarding the restroom facilities. The overwhelming sentiment was that the bathroom smelled "atrocious," with one visitor stating it smelled "sooo much worse than normal outdoor restroom. Like ten times worse!" This is a critical piece of feedback that potential visitors should be aware of. While the natural beauty and other amenities of the campground are appealing, the poor condition of the restrooms could significantly impact the overall camping experience. It is hoped that the relevant authorities will address this issue to ensure a more pleasant stay for future campers.
Despite the negative feedback concerning the restrooms, the positive aspects of Stonemason Site – its stunning scenery, the presence of a stream, well-equipped cooking and fire pit areas, family-friendly environment, and convenient location near Tibble Fork – make it a compelling option for those seeking "camping near me" in the American Fork area. The combination of natural beauty and essential amenities provides a solid foundation for a memorable outdoor adventure.
For local users in Singapore who might be planning a trip to the United States and are interested in experiencing the natural beauty of Utah, Stonemason Site at Granite Flat Campground offers a glimpse into the diverse camping opportunities available. In conclusion, Stonemason Site at Granite Flat Campground in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest presents a mixed bag of experiences. The "gorgeous scenery" and the stream running through the campground create a beautiful and tranquil setting. The well-maintained cooking and fire pit areas, along with the spacious campsites and convenient parking, contribute to a comfortable stay. Its family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to Tibble Fork Reservoir are additional advantages. However, the significantly negative feedback regarding the restroom facilities is a serious consideration for potential visitors. As a dry camp, it requires campers to be self-sufficient in terms of water and power. Despite this, for those who prioritize natural beauty and essential camping amenities and are prepared for the restroom situation, Stonemason Site offers a potentially rewarding "camping near me" experience in the American Fork region of Utah.

Gorgeous scenery. A stream runs through.Nice cooking and fire pit area. Awesome spots to play, camp and park. The dumpster was also close. Wasn't too far to haul the gear. It's really close to Tibble Fork but we never found a place to park to play because it was so busy.We heard the water temperature was the same at camp as it was at the reservoir. But, it gets a 4 because the bathroom smelled so atrocious. You couldn't even step in there. It smelled sooo much worse than normal outdoor restroom. Like ten times worse!
