Kimball Campground Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts in Utah seeking a more rustic and secluded "camping near me" experience, Kimball Campground, located in the scenic Sundance area of UT 84604, USA, presents an intriguing option. Situated amidst a "gorgeous area," this campground appears to offer a tranquil escape for those comfortable with camping without modern amenities. With contact numbers available at (801) 999-2103 and +1 801-999-2103, potential visitors can inquire about specific details and access conditions.
The environment surrounding Kimball Campground is clearly a significant draw. Described as a "gorgeous area," it suggests a setting characterized by natural beauty, likely featuring the mountainous terrain and potentially forested areas typical of the Sundance region. The mention of the Silver Lake Trail being nearby further hints at the scenic quality of the location, as this trail is likely to offer opportunities for hiking and enjoying the surrounding landscapes. The overall impression is one of a naturally appealing area that provides a picturesque backdrop for a camping experience.
A key feature of Kimball Campground, explicitly mentioned by a reviewer, is that it is a "great place to camp without amenities." This indicates that campers should expect a more primitive camping experience, likely lacking facilities such as running water, electricity, and flush toilets. This type of campground caters to those who prefer a more direct connection with nature and are self-sufficient in their camping setup. For individuals seeking an authentic, off-grid camping experience as part of their "camping near me" search, Kimball Campground might be an ideal choice.
One reviewer shared valuable insights regarding the campground's usage patterns. They advised against going on the weekend unless arriving "super early," suggesting that Kimball Campground can become crowded during peak times. However, they also recounted a positive experience visiting in early October on a weekend and finding it deserted ("no one was there"). This indicates that the level of crowding can vary significantly depending on the time of year and day of the week. For locals looking for a potentially secluded "camping near me" experience, visiting during the off-season or on weekdays might be the best strategy.
The proximity of Kimball Campground to the Silver Lake Trail is another notable feature. While the trail itself is described as "busy," the campground is noted to be "nice and secluded." This suggests that Kimball Campground offers a peaceful retreat away from the more heavily trafficked hiking area, providing a balance between access to recreational activities and a quiet camping environment. For those who enjoy hiking but prefer a more tranquil campsite, Kimball Campground could be a favorable option.
The limited information available does not include any specific details about services or promotional offers at Kimball Campground. Given the description as a place "without amenities," it is unlikely to offer services beyond basic designated camping spots. Campers should be prepared to bring their own water, power sources (if needed), and be equipped for self-sufficient waste disposal. The focus here is clearly on the natural environment and the opportunity for a more traditional camping experience.
For local users in Singapore researching camping options in the United States for future travel, Kimball Campground represents a type of rustic, no-amenities camping experience that can be found in many national forests and wilderness areas. While it might not offer the conveniences of more developed campgrounds, its appeal lies in its natural beauty and potential for solitude. Understanding these different types of camping experiences can help in planning a diverse range of outdoor adventures.
In conclusion, Kimball Campground near Sundance, Utah, offers a "gorgeous" and potentially secluded "camping near me" experience for those comfortable with camping "without amenities." While it can be crowded on weekends during peak season, visiting during off-peak times might yield a more tranquil environment. Its proximity to the popular Silver Lake Trail provides opportunities for hiking, while the campground itself is described as "nice and secluded." For local Utah residents seeking a more primitive and nature-focused camping getaway, Kimball Campground is worth considering, keeping in mind the need for self-sufficiency. The allure of a beautiful setting and the potential for a peaceful retreat make it a unique option within the local camping landscape.

Kimball Campground Reviews
Gorgeous area. I don't recommend going on the weekend unless you get there super early.
Jul 22, 2019 · Merrie KikkertI debated on leaving 5 stars because I didn't want to bring any population to the area but I guess I won't keep the secret to myself. Great place to camp without amenities. I went in early October on the weekend and no one was there. The silver lake trail is busy but the campground is nice and secluded.

Oct 26, 2022 · Samuel “Mr. Smith” smithAlways love camping here. Need 4wd to access. Can get pretty busy on weekends as early as Friday am if you're heading up any later than that I wouldn't bother. All campsites are pretty closes to a running stream. A few different options for hiking lakes. Always plenty of wildlife. Some of the off-roaders can be obnoxious passing by all the time if you don't have an end spot. Definitely recommend if you get early or go off season.
Aug 25, 2019 · Phil HarveyGreat area. Roads are rough. Beautiful views. This use to be a quieter place. Too many people now. Tibble Fork was less crowded.
