Little Mill Campground Introduce
For local Utah residents and visitors seeking a picturesque camping experience near Provo, Little Mill Campground offers a compelling option nestled within an amazing canyon. As a featured listing in the 'camping near me' category, Little Mill Campground provides a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities, although potential campers should be aware of certain characteristics, such as its dry camping status and proximity to a main road.
The environment at Little Mill Campground is consistently praised for its stunning natural setting. Located within a beautiful canyon, the campground is surrounded by mature trees and offers impressive mountain views, creating a truly immersive outdoor experience. The presence of a river running just behind the campsites adds to the scenic charm and provides opportunities for recreational activities, as one camper enthusiastically reported catching brook trout directly from the river near their camp. This combination of lush greenery, towering mountains, and flowing water makes Little Mill Campground an attractive destination for nature lovers and those seeking a tranquil escape.
In terms of services and management, Little Mill Campground receives positive feedback for its cleanliness and efficient management. Camp hosts are mentioned as diligently cleaning the restrooms daily, indicating a commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment for campers. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, providing a convenient and dedicated space for outdoor meals and activities. The campground also welcomes dogs, allowing campers to bring their furry companions along, provided they are kept on a leash, ensuring the safety and comfort of all visitors.
A crucial feature to note about Little Mill Campground is that it operates as a "dry camp," meaning there are no utility hookups available at the campsites. This includes the absence of power and water connections. Campers planning to stay at Little Mill should come prepared with their own sources of power (such as portable generators or battery packs) and an adequate supply of water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. This aspect caters more to campers who are comfortable with a more self-sufficient camping style.
One potential drawback mentioned by a reviewer is the proximity of the main road leading to the canyon. This closeness can result in some road noise that might detract from the otherwise peaceful natural setting. Light sleepers or those particularly sensitive to noise should be aware of this potential disturbance when choosing their campsite within the campground. However, for many, the beauty of the canyon and the other positive aspects of the campground may outweigh this minor inconvenience.
Regarding navigation, one reviewer pointed out a potential discrepancy with GPS directions, noting that while the navigator might indicate a left turn, the camping area is actually located on the right. This is a helpful tip for first-time visitors to be aware of when approaching the campground to avoid any confusion upon arrival. Paying close attention to signage once in the general vicinity is advisable.
The cost of camping at Little Mill Campground was mentioned as $29 per night by one reviewer. This provides a clear indication of the pricing for potential local users as they consider their camping options within the 'camping near me' category. It's always a good idea to verify the current pricing and any potential additional fees when making a reservation.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated in the provided reviews. However, the positive comments regarding the clean and well-managed facilities, the scenic canyon setting with mature trees and mountain views, the river access for fishing, and the pet-friendly policy all serve as implicit endorsements for Little Mill Campground. For local users seeking a beautiful natural retreat near Provo with essential amenities, these aspects highlight the campground's appeal. The mention of successful trout fishing could be particularly attractive to angling enthusiasts.
In summary, Little Mill Campground offers a lovely camping experience nestled in a stunning canyon environment near Provo, Utah. Its clean and well-managed facilities, including restrooms cleaned daily and picnic tables at each site, along with its dog-friendly policy and river access for fishing, make it a desirable option for many. The mature trees and mountain views further enhance its natural charm. However, potential campers should be prepared for dry camping conditions with no water or power hookups and be aware of potential road noise from the nearby canyon road. Little Mill Campground Reviews
Clean and well managed. Restrooms were cleaned daily by camp hosts. Picnic table at each camp site. Dogs allowed, but leashed. River runs just behind it. Mature trees and mountains setting. Caught brook trout from the river just behind my camp. This is a dry camp, meaning no hookups. (Power, water). the only detractor is the main road to the canyon is close and there is some road noise.
Aug 02, 2024 · Kay Mc DonaldThe navigator says "turn left" but the camping area is on the right. The campground is located in an amazing canyon. No electricity or water. The cost is 29 $.

The sites were clean and it was great hearing the river at night! Our kids loved playing in the river and sliding down the rocks! Aug 28, 2022 · Jill LallissI really wanted more information about the group site here than was offered, so I went to check it out. It’s fairly small- the covered gathering area is wonderful but otherwise it’s kind of sad. It had a lot of damage lately from the flooding and needs to be repaired. I thought some more pictures of the area might be helpful for someone who was investigating sites for a group like I was!
Aug 16, 2023 · Sheri MuellerFirst come first serve, except for the group site. $26 per-night with $10 extra for each extra car. Group site is $200 prr night. Reserve online. Great camping, river and canyon access. Beautiful trails and lots of sport climbing routes.
