Consider Mount Timpanogos Campground, located on UT-92 in Provo, UT 84604, USA. You can reach them at (385) 273-1100 or their mobile number +1 385-273-1100 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground offers a charming setting with easy access to hiking trails and a generally peaceful atmosphere, making it a great option for those looking to explore the Mount Timpanogos area.
One reviewer describes Mount Timpanogos Campground as a "beautiful little campground" featuring 27 single campsites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. These fundamental amenities are essential for a comfortable camping experience, providing designated areas for dining and campfires. The reviewer also highlights the campground's popularity, noting that reservations are "pretty much" necessary on weekends, indicating high demand during peak times. However, a significant advantage is the availability of spots on weeknights, making it a viable option for mid-week getaways or those with flexible schedules.
A key feature of Mount Timpanogos Campground is its direct proximity to the Aspen Grove Trailhead. Being located "directly across" from this trailhead makes it an exceptionally convenient basecamp for hikers looking to explore the trails around Mount Timpanogos. This immediate access to hiking opportunities is a major draw for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to immerse themselves in the stunning mountain scenery.
Another reviewer shared their experience at the campground, noting it as a "nice little campground." They mentioned a temporary inconvenience of no water availability during their visit, which resulted in the flushed restrooms being out of service. However, they appreciated that the portable bathrooms provided were "well maintained," indicating that the management took steps to ensure basic sanitation despite the water issue. This suggests a level of care for the campers' comfort even when facing temporary challenges.
The availability of photos of the campsites on the website was also a significant positive point for this reviewer. The ability to view the sites beforehand allowed them to confirm that their two 4-person tents would fit, highlighting the importance of visual information for planning a camping trip, especially when specific space requirements are involved. This proactive approach to providing site details online can greatly enhance the booking experience and prevent surprises upon arrival.
Shade is another notable benefit of Mount Timpanogos Campground. The reviewer mentioned that "there are many shades," which kept the campsite cool even during their visit in the third week of July, typically a hot period in Utah. Ample shade is a crucial factor for comfort during summer camping, making the experience more enjoyable, especially for those spending extended time at their campsite.
While the campground generally offers a peaceful environment, the reviewer did mention an instance of a group partying until midnight. However, they also noted that the noise subsided after midnight, allowing them to sleep without further disturbance. They credited either the group themselves or the camp host for addressing the noise issue, expressing their appreciation. This suggests that while occasional noise disturbances can occur in any campground, there is likely some level of monitoring or self-regulation to ensure a quiet period for sleeping.
Pet owners will be pleased to know that the reviewer took their "two pups" to Mount Timpanogos Campground, and the dogs "love it." This indicates that the campground is likely pet-friendly, allowing campers to bring their furry companions along. However, the reviewer did mention a minor inconvenience of a lot of grass and pine sap sticking to their dogs' fur, requiring some grooming after the trip. This is a practical consideration for pet owners to be aware of when camping in a natural environment like this.
Despite the minor issues encountered, the reviewer stated they would "probably come back" to Mount Timpanogos Campground, suggesting an overall positive experience. They did note a potential need for shoes for their dogs on future visits, likely to mitigate the grass and sap issue. This willingness to return speaks to the overall appeal of the campground, particularly its location and natural setting.

Mount Timpanogos Campground Reviews
Beautiful little campground with 27 single campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. Although you pretty much need a reservation on weekends, spots are always available on weeknights. Directly across from the Aspen Grove Trailhead.
Jan 04, 2025 · Janna JensenNice little campground. There was no water when we went so the flushed restrooms weren’t operating but the portable bathrooms were well maintained. The place is nice. I like the fact that we can see the sites from the photos on the website else we won’t be able to fit our two 4-person tents. There are many shades so it was cool even though we went there on 3rd week of July. There was a group that partied till midnight but after midnight there were quiet so I didn’t have any issue sleeping; whether it was them or the camp host that took care of the noise, we highly appreciate that. I took my two pups there and they love it. Although, there was a lot of grass that stick on their fur—even worse was the pine sap. I ended up have to cut parts of their fur once I got home. Will probably come back but might need to wear shoes for my boys
Jul 24, 2024 · Komson ChanprapanNoisiest campground I have ever stayed in. Campsite was right next to a road and there was traffic on it all night long. Camp host opened the gate and let people in around midnight, who immediately started yelling and very loudly setting up their camp. Camp host did nothing about it.
Aug 17, 2024 · Rachel BlakeDO NOT CAMP HERE unless all you want to hear from sunup to sundown is construction, motorcycles and Sundance events. The campground was nice but there wasn’t a moment of silence for days. I would not recommend this campground
Jul 24, 2024 · Sid ThomWe stayed at this campground over the weekend. The site was clean and nicely maintained. The Camphost was friendly and gave us directions to a couple of hiking trails. We had no problems with late night partiers disrupting our evenings. We will definitely be staying here again.
