Myrtle Beach KOA Resort Reviews
This was our first ever KOA experience. We arrived late at night, after a long drive, and Gina at the gate made our lives so much easier. I forgot a few things and she insisted on providing them for us because letting us go without "is not how they do it at KOA". She was truly a godsend and such a pleasant person to have checking us in late at night. The room was clean, easy to access, and comfortable - especially for the price! I know our kids loved the amenities too!
Mar 22, 2025 · Kristen DodsonFirst camping experience with Travel Trailer for me and my dog Benji. Everything was clean. Everyone was so nice from front office all the way to the trash pickup crew. They even had a treat for Benji when they came by. All hookup worked with no issues. It was quiet pretty much all of the time. Benji loved his daily walks and visit to Kamp K9. Absolute wonderful experience. Almost wish I hadn't had other things to do during the week and could have just stayed in the park the whole time. We will be back.
Apr 28, 2025 · connie piggFilthy cabin. Spent the first two hours of our vacation scrubbing and cleaning the rental. Paint faded. Screens gone. BBQ not working. Balcony furniture dirty. Trash in the river washed up on our bank. Such a shame as the location is great but you just don't feel right staying there. Left a day early just to get away from it.
Apr 21, 2025 · Matthijs SchootsI had a bad experience at this location in Myrtle Beach. I sent the response below to management in Myrtle Beach with no response after 20 days. Keep in mind I had communicated with the location before this all the way back to the Thanksgiving holiday. But still no response even when I had been asking for management all the way back to the end of November. I feel they have no concern for their patrons and even worse families that come with children, and they knowingly allow a condition to exist.I had a visit from 11/28-12/01/24 and had some issues. 2 people in my party went to the office at different times and talked to someone at the front desk about what happened. I later went 2 different times and talked to 2 different people and I didn't hear back from anyone. We were told at the time that management would need to talk to us. After leaving and returning home, for the next week, I still didn't hear back from anyone to talk to me about anything. I tried to call a few days ago and had trouble getting an answer, in fact, no answer that day at the times I called. I am going to guess Tuesday or Wednesday of last week. We also had trouble getting an answer from the office during our stay which prompted us few times to go to the office during the stay to talk to someone. I eventually ended up calling the corporate number last week, since I had not heard back from the Myrtle Beach management and shared details with them.During the stay, I went to the dog park for a little while. When it was time to leave, I was in the process of getting to my dog and the gate was opened up as someone was leaving. My dog darted around and out the gate and ran. I followed as best as I could and caught up to her as she was going under the bridge in the culvert area. I was able to see her as she winced and she slowly started moving to the side to exit the bridge at the other side. I later found out there are oyster shells under the bridge. I was able to retrieve her a few minutes later. She had 3 sliced up paws that required stitches, one required multiple stitches. When I talked to one of the staff about details, she said that "We have kids come up all the time in the summer with cut up feet", "We tell them not to go under the bridge". First thing, I don't believe for a minute that the staff stops every kid, or every family that comes through the gate and tells them that. I also feel like if absolutely nothing has been done to curb or stop that from happening to humans, visitors kids, and that there is probably little chance someone is going to care enough for a dog to do something.I looked for a sign coming from the dog park to the bridge and saw none. We had walked around there several times. I believe that at a minimum, warning or caution signs should be posted from all directions about the area. I also believe that if the fence up by the road were to wrap around the side area to block the well traveled path down to the culvert area, that may have deterred a dog and people from entering that area and maybe my dog wouldn't have had cut up paws and about $850 in vet visits and medical supplies. I am not sure what other options there are, but there are large rocks in the water under there. If the shells could be removed great. If not, smaller but mid size rocks could fill in between the larger rocks. I cannot properly describe the stress and anguish this has caused, just suffice it to say, I wish it never happened.I also have stayed at other places that have a small entry area to the dog park that is fenced in, so that if a dog gets past the inside gate, the outer gate is there so there is no escape. This could have prevented an escape and would be an ideal addition to help future patrons.I had talked to **** and she said I should include some pictures with the description of what happened. Pictures leading up to and around the bridge and culvert area will be sent in another email.I would like consideration of the expenses that I had and to know if anything will be done to add signs and/or fencing or rocks to curb this type of issue.
Jan 04, 2025 · B SandersWe didn't stay in a cabin, so not rating.Camping for the winter is always nice here. Hoot Owls at dusk and red tail hawks in the morning are so beautiful. Super close to the beach and boardwalk, golf cart over or a nice stroll. We prefer golf cart.
