Lakewood Camping Resort Introduce
For local residents and visitors to the Myrtle Beach area searching for "camping near me" that offers an extensive range of amenities and activities, Lakewood Camping Resort presents itself as a vibrant and feature-rich destination. Situated at 5901 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575, USA, Lakewood Camping Resort is known for its commitment to providing a memorable experience for campers of all ages, particularly families. You can contact them at (843) 238-5161 or their mobile number +1 843-238-5161 to learn more about their offerings and make reservations.
According to visitor feedback, Lakewood Camping Resort consistently strives to create a positive experience for its guests, especially during the fall and spring seasons when they reportedly "give it their all." This suggests a dedication to maintaining a high standard of service and ensuring a great stay regardless of the time of year. Unlike some campgrounds that may scale back operations during off-peak seasons, Lakewood Camping Resort appears to remain fully engaged in providing a comprehensive camping experience. Its convenient location further adds to its appeal, offering easy access to the attractions and entertainment that Myrtle Beach is famous for.
One recurring theme in the reviews is the abundance of activities available at the resort, catering to a wide age range. The impressive list of amenities includes an indoor pool, a splash pad, water slides, volleyball and pickleball courts, mini golf, paddleboats, and a playground. This extensive selection suggests that there are ample opportunities for recreation and entertainment within the campground itself, potentially reducing the need to venture far for activities. However, one reviewer noted that for the size of the campground, the number of playgrounds might be insufficient, particularly for families with multiple young children. This is a point to consider for those prioritizing playground access.
The same reviewer also mentioned the quiet time policy, which is from 11 pm to 7 am. While this is intended to ensure a peaceful night's rest, the reviewer experienced noise beyond 11 pm, primarily from teenagers driving around with loud music. This suggests that while a quiet time is in place, its enforcement or the adherence to it by all guests might vary. Light sleepers or those particularly sensitive to noise should be aware of this potential issue. Additionally, the reviewer advised against spending money on the arcade games, describing them as "awful," although their grandchildren (ages 14, 12, 10, and 6) still enjoyed them. This feedback on the arcade is mixed and might depend on individual expectations and preferences.
Considering the platform category "camping near me," Lakewood Camping Resort offers a compelling option for local users seeking a destination with a wide array of on-site entertainment. The presence of a water park with a splash pad and water slides is a significant draw, particularly for families with children. The indoor pool provides an all-weather swimming option, extending the possibilities for aquatic fun regardless of the weather. The inclusion of sports courts like volleyball and pickleball, as well as mini golf and paddleboats, caters to various interests and activity levels. The playground, while potentially limited in number according to one review, still offers a space for younger children to play.
The environment of Lakewood Camping Resort appears to be geared towards activity and engagement. The sheer number of amenities suggests a lively and energetic atmosphere, particularly during peak seasons. While the natural surroundings of the campground itself are not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, its location in Myrtle Beach implies proximity to the beach and related coastal environments. The focus, however, seems to be more on the resort's internal offerings and the variety of recreational opportunities it provides.
In terms of services, Lakewood Camping Resort provides the essential infrastructure for RV camping and potentially other types of accommodation (though not specified in the reviews). The positive feedback regarding the staff indicates a commitment to customer service and creating a positive experience for guests. The fact that the resort operates with full engagement even during the fall and spring suggests a consistent level of service throughout a significant portion of the year. The availability of amenities like an indoor pool and arcade indicates a desire to cater to guests' needs and entertainment regardless of external conditions.
Lakewood Camping Resort's key features include its extensive water park facilities (splash pad and water slides), indoor pool, diverse sports options (volleyball, pickleball, mini golf, paddleboats), and playground. The resort's commitment to maintaining a high level of service throughout a significant part of the year is also a notable feature. Its location in Myrtle Beach provides convenient access to the broader attractions of the area. However, potential drawbacks mentioned by a reviewer include possible noise issues after quiet time and the perceived quality of the arcade games.
Promotional information for Lakewood Camping Resort might highlight its family-friendly amenities, especially the water park and other recreational activities. Seasonal discounts or packages for extended stays could be available, particularly during the fall and spring when the resort reportedly excels. Promotions might also be tied to local events or holidays in Myrtle Beach. Families looking for a camping experience with numerous on-site activities for children and adults should look for deals that bundle access to the water park or other amenities with their stay. Local residents might also find special rates or packages during off-peak seasons. Checking the resort's official website or contacting their reservations line would be the best way to obtain current promotional details.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" in Myrtle Beach that offers a wide range of activities and amenities, Lakewood Camping Resort is a strong contender. Its impressive water park facilities, indoor pool, sports courts, and various recreational options provide ample entertainment for guests of all ages. The resort's commitment to service, especially during the shoulder seasons, is a positive aspect. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported noise issues after quiet time and the mixed feedback on the arcade. Overall, Lakewood Camping Resort offers a vibrant and action-packed camping experience for those seeking more than just a place to stay in Myrtle Beach. Contact them at (843) 238-5161 to plan your visit and explore all the amenities they have to offer.

Lakewood Camping Resort Reviews
We have been here to stay in our RV a couple of times and it has been great each time. In the fall or the spring, they give it their all when it comes to making it a great experience. Some campgrounds seem like they close up shop at different times of the year but not Lakewood. Many activities for all ages and very convenient location. Staff are great and do a lot to make it a fantastic campground.
Apr 22, 2025 · Michael And his peepsThey have a lot to offer, indoor pool, splash pad, water slides, volleyball and pickleball court, mini golf, paddleboats and a playground. For the size of the campground there are definitely not enough playgrounds. Quite time is from 11 pm til 7am. So it was too loud too long for me.(mostly teenagers driving around with the music blaring ). I guess I'm getting old 😅 don't waste your money on the arcade games they were awful. My grandkids enjoyed it (14,12,10,6).
Apr 20, 2025 · Tanja CookWe stayed at Lakewood the entire month of December. On our initial visit in late October, we were very impressed with the amount of activities there were to do, the kid and family friendly amenities, the cleanliness and the location. When we arrived the first of December, we arrived to our site filled with holes. The amenities completely shut down with the exception of a pool and a coffee house, and even most of the bath houses were closed and the general store closed at 4pm. We were very excited to see an island in one of the lakes being decorated with Christmas decorations, seating and outdoor heaters. However, it was always locked up and when we inquired as to when it would be open for us to enjoy, we were told that it would not be unlocked and was only available to rent for special occasions. The arcade, snack bar, and crazy mason were also closed. All while still charging a fee as much as other campgrounds in the area during peak season. I did enjoy how quiet and peaceful it was and the close access to the beachfront. The availability of church services on site was also very appreciated. My electric skateboard with a top speed of 12 miles/hr was not allowed but e-bikes doing north of 20 were apparently no problem. Beautiful property, probably a wonderful place to stay and worth the price when the property is actually “open”
Jan 14, 2025 · Jay WilliamsonIt was very peaceful by the water but too many golf carts and bikers riding around not paying attention.. they wouldn't even stop or slow down just pull right out in front of you.. to get to the pool area we had to walk a little ways I think they should invest into another indoor pool closer to the other end of the camp ground so those on that end wouldn't have to go so far to get to the pool.. other than that I enjoyed my self and the kids even though we had to go to my brother's hotel to get in the pool
Apr 24, 2025 · Christin ReedBeen coming here for the winters. This last season wasn't the greatest. There was still alot of dried up horse 💩 in spots. Also the grass was never. Mowed. People were complaining about the cats again. On the other side they are making more concrete spots. Redid around 1 pond, made it easier to walk around and even sit if you would like.
