When considering campgrounds near me, the environment and atmosphere play a crucial role in the overall experience. PirateLand Camping Resort boasts a prime location with direct access to the beautiful Myrtle Beach. Imagine waking up to the sound of the waves and spending your days lounging on the sandy shores. The resort offers a private beach access, ensuring a less crowded and more exclusive beach experience for its guests. This is a significant advantage for those seeking a tranquil escape from the bustling public beaches.
Beyond the beach, PirateLand offers a vibrant and engaging environment within the resort itself. While one review mentioned some initial difficulties with site access and cleanliness on a particular occasion, another long-time visitor enthusiastically describes the resort as "amazing." This suggests that while occasional issues might arise, the overall experience at PirateLand is highly positive for many. The resort is particularly noted for its family-friendly atmosphere and the abundance of activities planned for children.
Speaking of services and features, PirateLand Camping Resort goes above and beyond traditional camping. For those looking for convenience and ease of transportation within the expansive resort, golf cart rentals are available. It's important to note, however, that personal golf carts are not permitted on the property. This policy likely aims to maintain safety and manage traffic flow within the campground.
One of the standout features of PirateLand is its impressive water park. This amenity is a huge draw for families, providing hours of fun and entertainment for children of all ages. From thrilling slides to relaxing pools, the water park offers a refreshing escape from the summer heat. This feature alone sets PirateLand apart from many other campgrounds near me, transforming a simple camping trip into a resort-style vacation.
In addition to the water park, PirateLand Camping Resort is known for its organized activities for kids. According to a satisfied guest, these activities are often fun, inexpensive, and sometimes even free. This thoughtful programming ensures that children are engaged and entertained throughout their stay, allowing parents to relax and enjoy their vacation as well. This focus on family entertainment makes PirateLand an ideal choice for those searching for campgrounds near me that cater specifically to families with children.
For accommodation, PirateLand offers a variety of options to suit different needs and preferences. While one review mentioned challenges with site availability and size during a peak weekend, the resort also features villas, which have been a preferred choice for returning visitors. The availability and specific features of campsites and villas may vary, so it is always recommended to inquire about options and book in advance, especially during popular travel periods.
Connectivity is often a concern for travelers, and one review noted that the Wi-Fi at PirateLand is "usually bad." While this might be a drawback for some, the reviewer also mentioned that with the abundance of activities both within the resort and in the surrounding Myrtle Beach area, the lack of reliable Wi-Fi was not a significant issue. This highlights the fact that PirateLand offers so much to do that guests may find themselves less reliant on internet access for entertainment.
Myrtle Beach itself is a renowned vacation destination, offering a plethora of attractions, dining options, and entertainment venues. Staying at PirateLand Camping Resort provides convenient access to all that Myrtle Beach has to offer, from world-class golf courses and shopping centers to live shows and delicious seafood restaurants. This makes PirateLand not just a campground, but a gateway to a broader vacation experience.
Considering the "camping near me" category, PirateLand Camping Resort stands out due to its comprehensive amenities, prime location, and focus on family fun. While some logistical challenges, such as site availability during peak seasons, may occur, the positive experiences shared by many guests, particularly regarding the activities and overall resort atmosphere, paint a picture of a well-regarded and popular destination.
For those seeking a camping experience that combines the beauty of the South Carolina coast with the excitement of a resort, PirateLand Camping Resort is definitely worth considering. Its private beach access, thrilling water park, engaging kids' activities, and proximity to the attractions of Myrtle Beach make it a compelling choice for your next family getaway. PirateLand Camping Resort Reviews
We made a quick trip to the beach for Easter weekend. The place we usually was full, so we thought ok we’ll try Pirate Land.Sites were hard to get into, dog poop all over our site, no place to park the truck. Water and electric was on the opposite side of camper. We tried to move to a bigger site, but was told none available, a few sites were open all weekend. Had to rent their golf carts, personal carts were not allowed. That was a 2 in 1 trip!!
Apr 24, 2025 · Clorissa DurkeeI hesitate to leave this review, because Pirateland is already a popular place and I want it all to myself. But the fact is this place is amazing. My family and I have been staying at the Villas for years. It’s our go-to beach destination. They almost always have activities planned for kids that are fun and inexpensive, if not free. The private beach access is always great and the pool is great. The price is great too. The Wi-Fi is usually bad, but I don’t really miss it with all there is to do at the resort and in the area in general.
Apr 19, 2025 · Andrew SmithNice rv park right on the beach. Decent size sites, well maintained. My only issue was the ridiculous number of kids/young adults constantly driving around the park in golf carts with music blasting. Sooo annoying. Other than that, it's a nice park.
May 01, 2025 · KJPWe greatly enjoyed our stay. I loved being able to walk to the beach! The reason the service is a 4 (instead of a 5 or a 1, is because there was an online mess up with our reservation and the in-person staff really bent over backwards to take care of it. It was really stressful for a bit because of the online issue, though! I'd suggest calling reservations rather than doing it online!
Apr 12, 2025 · Dawn ManicsunriseFirst time staying at Pirate Resort Campground in Myrtle Beach. I have no complaints at all. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were only supposed to be there Thursday-Sunday, but had problems with our coach. The maintenance crew, I believe their names were Jeff and Frank, apologies if I have that wrong, came to our site and tried to help. They recommended MayDay RV repair, who came right out. The campground worked with us to stay another day until we got repaired. We got back up and running and headed out Tuesday. I definitely would consider going back.
