Shadow Rock Park Introduce
For local users searching within the "camping near me" category for a tranquil lakeside getaway, Shadow Rock Park, located in Forsyth, MO 65653, USA, offers a charming small-town campground and RV park experience. You can reach them by phone at (417) 546-2876 or their mobile number +1 417-546-2876 for reservations and inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, Shadow Rock Park is highlighted as a "perfect place to go relax with the family" and is situated right on the water, offering a serene environment for campers.
The environment surrounding Shadow Rock Park is undoubtedly its prime feature. Located in Forsyth, Missouri, it benefits from the natural beauty of the Ozark Lakes region, likely situated on or near Lake Taneycomo or another of the area's picturesque waterways. The reviews explicitly mention that "the sights are right in the water," indicating direct lakefront access for many, if not all, campsites. This offers campers stunning waterfront views, opportunities for fishing directly from their site, and the soothing sounds of the lake. The "quiet" nature of the park, as noted by a reviewer, suggests a peaceful and less crowded atmosphere, ideal for relaxation. The surrounding landscape in the Ozarks is typically characterized by rolling hills, wooded areas, and the sparkling waters of the lakes, creating a beautiful and natural backdrop for a camping experience.
Shadow Rock Park appears to cater to both RV and tent campers, offering different levels of services based on the campsite. According to a review, the park has "full hookups" available at some sites (specifically mentioned as spots 1-8), which typically include connections for electricity, water, and sewer. The reviewer noted that these full hookup spots might be "a bit tight," suggesting that while they offer comprehensive services, space might be somewhat limited. In addition to full hookup sites, the park also offers other sites with "water and electric" hookups, which are mentioned as being "cheaper," providing a more budget-friendly option for RVers who may not require sewer connections or for those with smaller rigs. While not explicitly stated, it is reasonable to assume that tent camping is also accommodated, likely in areas with water access and possibly electric hookups at some tent sites. The review mentions that the "easiest way to reserve/check in is to call the number before you arrive," indicating that phone communication is the primary method for managing reservations and arrivals. It's also important to note that Shadow Rock Park operates on a "cash only" basis, so campers should be prepared with cash for payment upon arrival.
The features of Shadow Rock Park are centered around its waterfront location and the relaxed atmosphere. Direct access to the water is a significant draw, allowing for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the lakeside ambiance. The availability of both full hookup and water/electric sites provides flexibility for RV campers with varying needs. The small-town, family-ran nature of the campground suggests a more personal and potentially less commercialized experience. The quiet environment is a major feature for those seeking a peaceful retreat. Additionally, Shadow Rock Park has hosted events like a "Motorcycle swap meet," indicating that the park might have some capacity for accommodating special events, although the scale and frequency of these are not detailed. A notable feature mentioned in the reviews is the "Military/Veterans discount," described as "very courteous." Eligible individuals should ensure they have their ID to take advantage of this offer.
The most significant piece of promotional information available is the "Military/Veterans discount." This demonstrates a commitment to honoring military service and provides a financial incentive for veterans and active-duty military personnel to choose Shadow Rock Park. Local users who are veterans or active military should definitely inquire about the specifics of this discount when making their reservations. Beyond this, the positive reviews themselves act as a form of promotion, highlighting the relaxing atmosphere, waterfront location, and friendly service. The fact that one reviewer highly recommends the park and intends to return suggests a positive overall experience. To learn about any other potential seasonal discounts, special offers, or long-term stay rates, it would be best to contact Shadow Rock Park directly via the provided phone numbers.
The reviews consistently emphasize the peaceful and family-friendly nature of Shadow Rock Park. The direct water access is a unique selling point, allowing campers to truly immerse themselves in the lakeside environment. The availability of different hookup options caters to a range of RV needs and budgets. The small-town feel suggests a more intimate and less crowded camping experience compared to larger resorts. The mention of the Military/Veterans discount indicates a welcoming and appreciative attitude towards those who have served. The recommendation to call ahead for reservations and check-in is a valuable piece of practical advice for potential visitors, ensuring a smooth arrival process, especially given the cash-only policy.
For local users looking for "camping near me" that offers a relaxing waterfront experience with options for both full and partial RV hookups, as well as potential tent camping, Shadow Rock Park in Forsyth, MO, is a strong contender. Its quiet atmosphere, direct lake access, and the availability of a Military/Veterans discount add to its appeal. Small town ran campground/rv Park it’s a perfect place to go relax with the family. We have rented a slot with full hookups for five nights ( spots 1-8 are full hookups they are a bit tight) they have other sights with water and electric as well that are cheaper! The easiest way to reserve/check in is to call the number before you arrive! They take cash only! Very happy with the experience highly recommend as not many people seem to come here! There is also a Military/Veterans discount make sure you have your ID for that! It’s a very courteous discount! The sights are right in the water!
Jun 06, 2024 · StumblingSTEMPS !Went there for the Motorcycle swap meet. Definitely not at many vendors as in the past. Clean park and very nice.
Jun 17, 2024 · Leonard SmithI been coming to this park every Friday as I do medical transport from Sedalia. I just found out that Micky mantle owned the old hotel here. This is my kind of rest area.
Sep 27, 2022 · mark bergmanIn these photos the water is down quite a bit more than normal. You can camp, play at the park, swim and there are shower and bathroom facilities as well. Overall a decent little spot to visit. It can get a little loud at night from the traffic over the bridge but it's not terrible. The female camp site attendant was not my favorite person in the world, nor my husband's, but hey...
Jul 01, 2018 · Shannon BullockMany places to camp and good fishing spots too! Multiple play grounds even basketball court. Winter pictures don’t do it justice. Just a great place to come with the family so come on over and check it out!!
