Shady Rest Resort and Campground Reviews
Campgrounds permanent and weekend spots. We have a permanent one and we love it. Fishing is good. Sand bar for those hot days to park the boat and relax in the water. The bar is small town comfort to it.
Mar 05, 2025 · Janette ChristiansenWe arrived in the area without a campsite reservation. Luckily Shady Rest Resort was able to accommodate! We had a tent ( that's why i didn't rate the rooms)with a cargo trailer hauling motorcycles. The gentleman at the front desk was super helpful giving us a site with water and electricity which was pretty much a must! We really enjoyed the resort. After a day of riding we cooked steak dinner and were happy to hear they were having a DJ with some fun music that evening! The only reason I gave a 4 for location was because there was a 1/2 mile long dirt road to get there. The resort was very quiet even though it seemed pretty full. We would definitely return when in the area!
May 28, 2024 · Becky BlancoWe had some last minute changes due to the Covid pandemic and the people there were very accommodating. We were there for 5 days and it was wonderful. The fish weren't biting much but we did pull a few out. The cabin was great and the people were very nice. Love the sweatshirt I got from their shop-needed it as the nights were a bit colder than I packed for. The beach was nice. My granddaughters loved playing on the slide and in the water. It wasn't too deep for them to walk to the platform. (5 and 7 yrs) The adults enjoyed the campfires and fishing. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and dishes. The bedrooms were nice and the living space was large enough for the family. (We had a cabin and an RV but mostly hung out at the cabin) We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Shady Rest. Next trip with the family we will definitely try to get a reservation!
Jul 08, 2020 · Cheryl WinzenburgVery nice resort. Stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin for a week. Excellent rooms right on the lake. Staff was very helpful and friendly. First time staying here and I would come back. Fishing was slow but fun. Thank you
Sep 24, 2022 · Al BrimmerVery helpful staff and well kept grounds. Water is clear and lots of shells on the cute beach area. Safe place for kids to be kids! They have kayaks and a paddle boat to rent and games to borrow. We enjoyed Bocce ball :)
