Three Lakes Campground Reviews
We did a fall camping trip and had the campground mostly to ourselves. The campsites are large and the rustic bathrooms were very clean. Walker lake is shallow and fairly clear for a UP lake. There is no garage service.
Oct 24, 2024 · blamy10Nice campsites with plenty of space between neighbors. During a late July visit there were mosquitos and blackflys, but neither were overwhelming, and with appropriate repellent they were almost unnoticeable. The vault toilets were about as nice as they get, and the hand pumed well water was fine. Sites are first come first served, with no reservations available, and it filled up pretty quickly on Friday afternoon.
Jul 25, 2023 · A JohnsonMy very favorite tent campground. I wish they would make it so RV's aren't allowed. Vault toilet, pump well water, no electrical hookups
Aug 24, 2024 · Sara HowardIf you want peaceful this is the place. We had for the most part the whole place to ourselves with one other camper. He was in the site right next to us but could hardly see him. Sites are not close together. We had a small pop up and it worked great. Water pump was easy to use. Bathrooms always clean and stocked with toilet paper. They even put a little tree air freshener in there. So many nice trails to explore. Our site backed up to one of the lakes. We could fish right off of our site. They are also very large sites. My kids loved riding their bikes on the road back and forth. So quite, so peaceful, so relaxing. We stayed for 5 days. 10 out of 10. Will be coming back.My only con was the mosquitos are very aggressive. Must have proper bug protection. We used back woods spray with deet. As long as we put spray on religiously, they really were not a problem. We also had 4 citronella candles pretty much going at all times, and a bon fire for the smoke to help. It is a national forest that is comprised of A LOT of wet lands, so expect all the bugs that come along with the wet lands.
Jun 12, 2024 · Jennifer GoodykeI love how secluded it is. I don’t actually camp at this exact spot but there’s a location in the forest that is really nice to camp in. It’s free to camp anywhere in a federal forest for up to two weeks at a time and this massive forest is an excellent place to try it out. Only outhouse in many miles is at the campground. The water isn’t the best to swim in, but it’s not the worst either. I wouldn’t let small children go in.
