Camp Paradise - Lodge Introduce
For local users in Michigan searching within the "camping near me" category for a distinctive and impactful experience, Camp Paradise - Lodge, located in Newberry, MI 49868, USA, offers a camping opportunity unlike many others. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, Camp Paradise - Lodge appears to be centered around fostering quality one-on-one time between fathers and their children within a structured and supportive environment. While the term "Lodge" might suggest a specific type of accommodation, the essence of Camp Paradise seems to be the unique program and the natural setting it provides.
Newberry, situated in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, is known for its vast forests, pristine lakes, and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. The environment surrounding Camp Paradise - Lodge is likely characterized by this natural beauty, offering a serene and immersive setting for the camp's activities. Campers can probably expect to be surrounded by woodlands, fresh air, and the sights and sounds of nature, contributing to a memorable and refreshing getaway.
The core service of Camp Paradise - Lodge revolves around its dedicated camp sessions. The reviews consistently highlight the opportunity for a father to bring one child (son or daughter) between the ages of 8 and 12 for a focused period of quality time. This unique structure suggests that the activities and the overall atmosphere are designed to facilitate bonding and create lasting memories between fathers and their children. The mention of "summer staff, Curtis, and Pastor Dan" being "fantastic" indicates a well-organized and supportive team dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
The features of Camp Paradise - Lodge are particularly noteworthy. It's not just a place to stay; it's an experience centered on a specific type of interaction. Key features, as gleaned from the reviews, include:
- Father-Child Focus: The primary feature is the intentional structure of each camp session, allowing a father to bring only one child, ensuring focused one-on-one attention.
- Age-Specific Participation: Children are eligible to attend between the ages of 8 and 12, allowing for up to five summers of participation as they grow.
- Repeat Opportunities for Dads: Fathers can attend multiple sessions over the years, accompanying each of their eligible children. The mention of dads attending "as many as 25 sessions over their lifetime" underscores the enduring appeal and tradition of this camp.
- Dedicated Staff: The positive mentions of the summer staff, Curtis, and Pastor Dan suggest a supportive and engaging team that contributes significantly to the camp experience.
- Positive Atmosphere: The reviews consistently describe an "awesome" place, indicating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for both fathers and children.
- Amazing Meals: One reviewer specifically praised the "amazing meals," suggesting that the culinary aspect of the camp is also a highlight.
While the reviews don't explicitly detail the types of accommodations (the "Lodge" in the name might imply cabin-style lodging), the focus is clearly on the program and the experience rather than luxurious amenities. Campers likely stay in comfortable but basic accommodations that support the primary goal of fostering connection and participation in camp activities. The specific types of activities are not listed, but one can infer they are geared towards shared experiences, outdoor fun, and creating memorable moments.
The strong positive sentiment in the reviews serves as a powerful form of "promotional information" from actual users. The fact that children look forward to Camp Paradise "year-round" and that it's a frequent topic of conversation in families speaks volumes about its impact. The eagerness of a younger sibling waiting for their turn to attend highlights the positive experiences shared by those who have gone.
For local users with children in the 8-12 age range, Camp Paradise - Lodge presents a unique opportunity to invest in quality time and create lasting bonds with their sons or daughters. The recurring attendance of both children and fathers over many years suggests a deeply valued tradition and a consistently positive experience. While specific details about the daily schedule, types of activities, or the nature of the "Lodge" accommodations are not provided, the focus on the father-child relationship is clear and compelling.
To gather more specific information for those in the "camping near me" area interested in Camp Paradise - Lodge, it would be beneficial to:
- Search online for "Camp Paradise Newberry MI" to find any official website or additional information.

- Explore local parenting groups or community forums in Michigan for potential insights from families who have attended Camp Paradise.
- Check if there are any registration brochures or information packets available online or through local organizations that might provide more details about the camp's program.
Given the unique nature of Camp Paradise - Lodge, it's important for interested local users to understand that this is likely not a traditional campground where families can come and go independently. Instead, it appears to be a structured camp program with specific sessions and age requirements designed around the father-child bonding experience. The "camping" aspect likely refers to the environment and the types of activities offered, rather than just the accommodation.
In conclusion, for local families in Michigan with children aged 8-12, Camp Paradise - Lodge in Newberry offers a highly recommended and unique "camping near me" experience focused on strengthening the bond between fathers and their children. The positive testimonials highlight the dedicated staff, the enjoyable atmosphere, and the lasting impact of this special camp. Camp Paradise - Lodge Reviews
This is an awesome dad's camp! The summer staff, Curtis, and Pastor Dan are all fantastic! This camp is a great opportunity for a dad to spend quality one-on-one time with their son or daughter. Each camp session each dad is allowed to bring up one child. This summer I did one session with my son and a separate session with my daughter. This is something that are kids look forward to year-round. There isn't a month that goes by that Camp Paradise isn't brought up in our household. My daughter has been anxiously waiting for her turn at a camp session, after watching her brother go for the last three summers. My daughter was finally old enough to go and absolutely loved it.Children are allowed to go between the ages of 8 and 12, so they can go up to 5 summers. Dads can go as many times as they have children to go. I've heard of Dad's going for as many as 25 sessions over their lifetime. If you have a son or daughter, I highly recommend making time to go to Camp Paradise.
