Shady Oaks Campground Reviews
This is our first year having a seasonal spot at Shady Oaks Campground. The owners are so very nice and super accommodating. The place is kept well and is right on the lake. Shower house and fish cleaning stations are provided. On the 4th of July weekend they hold a hotdog cookout and provide beverages and the campground does a bean bag tournament. We will be staying here for the next few years for sure. We are happy we snagged a spot when we did.
Jul 10, 2023 · Trisha SyversonHorrible communication! We are planned to camp there on 6/8/2024. We have called multiple times, we have left multiple voicemails. Just to get nothing, absolutely nothing back. They had no problem taking our money for the down deposit but now when we are trying to figure out a couple details to the upcoming weekend. Communication is key when working with the public. Needless to say, here we sit. Still waiting for some sort of response. Unreal! Will NOT be going back!
Jun 05, 2024 · Taylor PosterickVery nice small campground. Had a great experience. The bathrooms were cleaned and re painted! Owners were very helpful and accommodating. One thing I would like to see them do, is clean up the water where the beach is.
Jun 10, 2024 · Justin PosterickDue to my husbands work we stay in our camper almost full time. Shady Oaks Campground will be remembered as one of my favorites. The owners are nice people. Very responsive to any issues. The park truly is shady. There were never any issues with excessive noise etc. I feel like it’s a very safe place to stay. Everyone just got along well. If you’re looking for a laid back experience with a beautiful lake view, this is your place
Aug 28, 2020 · Cherie CrawfordThe campground sign said that everyone needed to sign it at the office however no one is at the office but there is a phone number on the door. You have to leave a message while you wait to check in. When they finally called back and came to direct us into our spot, our surge protector showed that the ground fault was bad so had to run an extension cord to the next site which was not occupied. We had a month reservation split into 2 weeks since we could not get the week of the 4th of July. We were assured that the electric would be repaired when we returned. When we arrived back the electric was not repaired and the site next to us was occupied, so we ran on generator for 2 days. To make matters worse no one told us that the water was orange and you should not do laundry in it or drink it. We did have a filter on our couch but one not good enough to take out rust. We ruined some of our clothes. After the electric was repaired and we thought that everything was fine now. the owners ran over our sewer line while mowing and cut off about 2 feet. We were told about it but money was not deducted from our stay. They owners were always nice when we talked to them but their campground has some definite issues. I will not be back.
