Spring Campground Introduce
For local residents seeking an exceptional "camping near me" experience, Spring Campground, nestled in the scenic Crescent Lake area of Oregon (address: Crescent Lake, OR 97733, USA), offers a truly remarkable getaway. You can reach them at (541) 338-7869 or their mobile number, +1 541-338-7869, to plan your lakeside escape and inquire about site availability.
Environment and Location:
Spring Campground is described as a "really nice, secluded campground on the backside of Crescent Lake." This suggests a tranquil and private setting, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in nature. The location on the backside of Crescent Lake likely offers stunning lake views and a more intimate connection with the surrounding environment compared to more centrally located campgrounds on the lake.
One of the standout features highlighted by multiple reviewers is the direct accessibility of the lake from the campground. This allows campers to easily enjoy various water-based activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, or simply relaxing by the shore. The convenience of having the lake so close enhances the overall camping experience, making it particularly appealing for families and water enthusiasts.
The campground is also praised for its spaciousness and cleanliness. Visitors have noted that "the spaces are huge and clean," providing ample room for setting up camp, parking vehicles (especially RVs), and enjoying outdoor activities within the campsite. This emphasis on cleanliness and space contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of the camping experience.
Services and Amenities:
A recurring theme in the reviews is the exceptional service provided by the "absolutely amazing" and "cool" camp hosts. Their dedication to ensuring everything is going well is evident, with one reviewer mentioning that the hosts "generally swung by a couple times a day (morning/night) to make sure everything was going well." This level of attentiveness and care from the camp hosts contributes significantly to the positive and secure atmosphere of the campground, often leading to a "5 star experience all the way around."
In terms of facilities, Spring Campground offers practical amenities to enhance the camping experience. There is a designated "place to launch boats at the campground," which is a significant advantage for those wishing to bring their boats and explore Crescent Lake. The availability of "potable water spigots" ensures that campers have access to clean drinking water, a crucial amenity for any extended stay outdoors.
The campground also provides "trash/recycling bins," promoting responsible waste management and helping to keep the environment clean and well-maintained. Additionally, "vault toilets" are available for campers' convenience. While vault toilets are a more basic type of restroom facility, their presence is essential for a comfortable camping experience in a more secluded setting.
It's worth noting that while "most of the spots are RV, and tent," there are also "a few tent only spots right along the lake that are great!" This variety in campsite types caters to different camping preferences, allowing both RV owners and tent campers to find suitable accommodations. The tent-only spots directly on the lake are particularly desirable for those seeking a more immersive lakeside camping experience.
Features and Activities:
The primary feature of Spring Campground is its direct access to Crescent Lake, which offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. Boating is made convenient with the on-site boat launch, allowing campers to easily get out on the water for fishing, waterskiing, or leisurely cruising. Swimming and other lakeside activities are also readily accessible for those staying at the campground.
The secluded location on the backside of the lake suggests a quieter and more natural environment, potentially offering opportunities for wildlife viewing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The "huge" campsites provide ample space for outdoor games, relaxation, and enjoying the company of family and friends.
While specific hiking trails are not mentioned in the provided reviews, the Crescent Lake area is known for its natural beauty and likely offers various hiking opportunities in the vicinity. Campers interested in hiking can likely find trails within a short drive from the campground, allowing them to further explore the surrounding forests and landscapes.
The positive feedback regarding the camp hosts suggests that they may also provide valuable information about local attractions, hiking trails, and other activities in the area, further enhancing the overall camping experience.
The recurring sentiment of visitors wanting to return "again and again" underscores the exceptional quality and appeal of Spring Campground. The combination of spacious and clean sites, direct lake access, outstanding camp hosts, and a secluded atmosphere creates a truly memorable and enjoyable "camping near me" destination.

Jun 11, 2017 · Steven NewmanOur family has enjoyed Spring CG for many years. Camp sites are spacious, newer vault toilets. Sites along the lake have a little more trees and shrubs for privacy but the sites are so big it helps. Grounds are kept clean. Cell service is ok for texting but not much else (Verizon) Overall we love this campground. This year......WAY to many BIG groups. One regular site...they only had 4 guys...but 4 tents and 4 cars! All in their site! And it was a lake site that has a lot of trees and brush.2 of the double sites were booked together. At one of the sites they had 8 rigs parked! WAY TO MANY PEOPLE! The reservation site says 12 people.... max num of vehicles 2. I don't know how many people were at the sites but WAY more than 12.If you have rules they HAVE to be enforced!....how about Forest Service law enforcement being there. The camp host can only try to get people to comply.....they are not law enforcement. If we continue to allow this in our campgrounds soon we will not have campgrounds because they have been used and abused
Jul 17, 2022 · Ann ThomasThe campsites were bigger than typical, our smoky had a great time. The lake is pretty low, that’s definitely sad to see. We had to improvise and put the jet skis directly from the beach. Bathrooms were clean and stocked.
