Princess Creek Campground Introduce
For those in the Bend, Oregon area searching for "camping near me," Princess Creek Campground presents an option nestled in a potentially beautiful location near a lake. Situated at 63095 Deschutes Market Rd, Bend, OR 97701, USA, this campground within the National Forest offers campsites with varying experiences, as indicated by recent visitor feedback.
The environment of Princess Creek Campground is described by some visitors as "beautiful" and "cute," particularly the campsites facing the lake. The allure of lakeside camping is a significant draw, offering scenic views and potential access to water-related activities. However, it's important to note that the proximity to the highway introduces a considerable level of noise, which some visitors found noticeable but not overly bothersome. Additionally, the presence of nearby train tracks, while not directly observed by one reviewer, contributed to the ambient noise. Despite these auditory factors, the inherent natural beauty of the area, with its potential lake views, remains a key aspect of the campground's environment for many.
Based on the available reviews, the services and features of Princess Creek Campground appear to be somewhat basic, aligning with a National Forest campground setting. One significant issue highlighted by a visitor is the apparent lack of an on-site camp host. This absence led to a problematic situation where a non-reserved individual occupied a pre-booked campsite, causing considerable stress and inconvenience for the arriving guests. The lack of a readily available authority figure or a clear contact number for immediate assistance in such situations is a notable drawback. Furthermore, the signage regarding campsite availability seems to have been outdated, adding to the confusion and the difficulty in resolving the site conflict.
The features of individual campsites at Princess Creek Campground seem to vary considerably in their upkeep. While some sites were observed to be "kept really nice and tidy," at least one site (spot 29) was reported to be in poor condition. This particular site was described as having tall grass, numerous weeds, and a wet, marshy ground. The overgrown vegetation also obstructed any potential view of the lake from this specific location. This inconsistency in site maintenance suggests that the quality of the camping experience can be highly dependent on the assigned spot. It is advisable for potential visitors to inquire about specific site conditions when making reservations, if possible.
Considering the category "camping near me," Princess Creek Campground offers a location with potential natural beauty, particularly for lakeside sites. However, prospective campers should be aware of the reported noise from the nearby highway and train tracks. The most significant concern raised by recent reviews is the apparent lack of an on-site camp host and issues with campsite management, including outdated signage and the inability to resolve site occupancy conflicts promptly. The inconsistent maintenance of individual campsites is another factor to consider, as the quality of the camping experience can vary significantly depending on the assigned spot.
While some visitors express a willingness to return to Princess Creek Campground, suggesting that the positive aspects (like the potential lake views and overall cuteness of the campground) outweigh the negatives for them, it is crucial for potential local users to be aware of the reported issues. The lack of a camp host and the inconsistent site maintenance are significant factors that could impact the camping experience. If you are considering Princess Creek Campground for your next "camping near me" adventure, it might be prudent to inquire about specific campsite conditions and be prepared for potential self-reliance in case of site-related issues. For reservations or inquiries, you can contact them at (541) 383-5300 or +1 541-383-5300. However, based on the recent feedback, it would be wise to have realistic expectations regarding on-site support and the condition of individual campsites.

Princess Creek Campground Reviews
This was my first visit at Princess Creek Campground. I was in spot 29. It was the worst spot through the whole campsite. I’m almost certain. The grass was so tall, weeds were everywhere, it was extremely wet and marshy very unkept. Because of all of the bushes being unkept it didn’t even have a view of the lake. It was hidden behind all of the. and bushes. When I drove through the campsite, I saw a lot of them were kept really nice and tidy so I’m not sure how spot 29 was left the way it was.I was extremely disappointed with my spot. The campground itself was very cute. Lots of noise from the highway, but that didn’t even bother me either. All of the campsites facing the lake were absolutely beautiful except for spot 29 as far as I could tell.I would definitely go back and maybe choose a better spot.
Jun 21, 2024 · Karrie BrownBeautiful place, but two problems. Close to the highway and train tracks (I didn't see the tracks but I heard them) and there is no camp host. When we arrived after driving all day there was some entitled person setting up in our site (which we purchased months ago). She refused to leave until she was reimbursed for paying for the site. After driving multiple times between campgrounds looking for a host and arguing with her, she finally left. Great way to start a 2 week road trip. Good job National Forest for 1. Not having a host for 2 campgrounds, 2. Not having a number people can call for problems, 3. Not updating the sign on our site. It didn't show as available, but it only listed reservations through the previous night on the placard. There was no space to put our reservation, which tells you how long it's been since they were here.National forest: send me a note if you're looking for a camp host or new ranger for this incredible forest!
Jun 27, 2023 · Jeff DownsIt was a cute little campground. We came in right before closing season, so little amount of people. I booked on recreation.gov, we stayed in 26, the ground wasn't very level for our roof top tent so we adjusted but it was fine. We explored around the lake to the resort, the only con for me was the trains and the highway but it wasn't too bad I would definitely stay again. Max vehicle is one with the site but an additional 8 dollars a day for an extra vehicle.
Oct 17, 2022 · Mii MiiI love the big sites and that some of the lakeside ones have their own little pebbly beaches. The sunset views over Odell Lake are unforgettable!
Jul 04, 2023 · Maureen RiggsThe fire smoke covered some of this place's beauty, but from what i saw, it's breathtaking. The water is clear and clean, the campground is well maintained, i am definitely coming back. Many great hikes, and its so quiet at night.
