You can reach them at (864) 277-9789 or +1 864-277-9789. Based on available local reviews, Springwood RV Park offers a unique camping experience with a blend of convenience, safety, and natural encounters, making it a potential option for both short-term and longer-term stays.
The Environment and Surroundings of Springwood RV Park
Springwood RV Park benefits from its location near Donaldson Center, placing it within a relatively accessible area of Greenville. One notable advantage highlighted by a reviewer is the park's proximity to a sheriff’s office right across the road, contributing to a sense of safety and security for campers. This is a significant factor for those prioritizing a safe environment when searching for "camping near me." The area also features a slow speed limit zone, which enhances safety for cyclists and pedestrians, suggesting a community-oriented environment.
For everyday conveniences, a Spinx gas station is located just 2.1 miles away, offering easy access to breakfast items, coffee, and other essentials. This proximity to local amenities adds to the practicality of choosing Springwood RV Park for your camping needs. While the park offers a degree of urban convenience, it also provides opportunities to connect with nature. According to a reviewer, the park is pet-friendly and is home to various outdoor creatures such as foxes and raccoons. Campers might also hear wild dogs at night and enjoy the sounds of birds singing in the early morning, offering a touch of the natural world during your stay.
However, it's important to note a contrasting perspective regarding the park's environment. One reviewer mentioned that the gravel was soft and not packed, causing them issues during a month-long stay. This is a factor to consider, especially for those with heavier RVs or mobility concerns. Additionally, the park has "quite a few permanent RVs," which can influence the overall atmosphere and community feel. The same reviewer also noted that the park is in close quarters, potentially leading to a less spacious camping experience.
A significant environmental factor to be aware of is the proximity of train tracks, reportedly within 50 yards of the park. The sound of trains passing and their horns blaring is mentioned as a potential disturbance. Furthermore, a jet engine testing facility is located nearby, and nighttime testing has been reported as a noise issue. These are crucial environmental factors to consider when evaluating Springwood RV Park as your "camping near me" option, particularly if you are sensitive to noise.
Despite these potential drawbacks, the park does offer some unique experiences. One reviewer enjoyed watching the sunsets and the occasional train passing by. Additionally, the possibility of seeing military airplanes or helicopters flying overhead adds an interesting and somewhat unique element to the environment.
Services and Features at Springwood RV Park
Based on the positive review, Springwood RV Park prides itself on its friendly and helpful staff. The manager, Paul, is specifically mentioned for his welcoming demeanor and assistance in finding the best parking spot. This personal touch and helpful service can significantly enhance the camping experience, especially for those new to the area or RV camping.
The park offers a laundry facility that is described as clean and modern. A notable feature of the laundry room is a big screen TV for guests to enjoy while doing their laundry. The washing and drying machines are reported to be in great working condition, adding to the convenience of a longer stay. For financial needs, the park also provides an ATM machine and a coin change machine, which can be particularly useful for laundry or other small transactions.
While specific details about other services and amenities are not provided in the reviews, typical RV parks often offer essential hookups for water, electricity, and sewer. Given that Springwood RV Park accommodates RVs, it is highly likely that these basic utilities are available. However, it is advisable to confirm these details directly with the park management when making a reservation.
The mention of the park being pet-friendly is a significant feature for many travelers looking for "camping near me" options where they can bring their animal companions. This welcoming attitude towards pets can be a major draw for RVers who travel with their furry friends.
Features and Potential Drawbacks
One of the key features highlighted is the sense of community and the friendly nature of both the staff and the residents. This can create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, especially for those staying for an extended period. However, the presence of "quite a few permanent RVs" might also contribute to the "close quarters" feel mentioned in one of the reviews.
The soft, unpacked gravel is a notable feature that was perceived negatively by one reviewer due to the difficulties it caused during their month-long stay. This suggests that the ground surface might not be ideal for all types of RVs or for longer durations, and it's something to consider based on your specific needs and the type of vehicle you have.
The noise from the nearby train tracks and the jet engine testing facility are significant drawbacks that potential visitors should be aware of. If you are sensitive to noise, especially at night, this could impact your overall experience at Springwood RV Park. While one reviewer found the train sightings interesting, the blaring horns and nighttime jet engine tests are clearly disruptive for others.

When searching for "camping near me" on online platforms, you might also find updated pricing and availability information.
One reviewer mentioned paying $700 for a month-long stay, but they ultimately felt it was not worth the cost due to the aforementioned issues with the gravel and noise. It is recommended to inquire about the current monthly rates and any potential discounts for longer stays, as well as to weigh these costs against the potential benefits and drawbacks based on your individual preferences and needs.
Conclusion: Is Springwood RV Park the Right "Camping Near Me" Option for You?

On the positive side, it boasts a convenient location near Donaldson Center with easy access to amenities like a gas station. The park is in a safe area, with a sheriff’s office nearby, and offers a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff and pet-friendly policies. The clean and modern laundry facility with a TV, along with the ATM and coin change machines, adds to the convenience for guests.
However, potential drawbacks include the soft, unpacked gravel, the close quarters due to permanent RVs, and significant noise from nearby train tracks and a jet engine testing facility. These factors could impact the comfort and tranquility of your stay, especially for longer durations or if you are sensitive to noise.
Ultimately, the suitability of Springwood RV Park as your "camping near me" destination depends on your individual priorities and tolerance for these factors. If safety, friendly service, and basic amenities are your primary concerns and you are less sensitive to noise, it could be a viable option, particularly for a short weekend stopover as suggested by one reviewer. However, if you prioritize a quiet and spacious environment with well-maintained ground surfaces, you might want to explore other campgrounds in the Greenville area. It is always recommended to contact Springwood RV Park directly for the most up-to-date information on rates, services, and any ongoing promotions before making your final decision.

Apr 15, 2025 · Vicky LSoft, not packed gravel. Caused us grief for the month we stayed. There are quite a few permanent rvs. It’s close quarters and trains go by within 50 yards of the park, horn blaring. There’s a jet engine testing facility close by and they like to test at night. Not worth the $700 we paid for the month. Residents are friendly though. Tight quarters.
Mar 22, 2025 · Joe RadostaGood location & all features including newer bath/shower/laundry!.However place had an unkept, messy, RV’s on top of each other, cars trucks everywhere. No luxury, here!
Nov 24, 2024 · Pamela McGlothlinI have been here for 6 months now, I’m a full timer. The park is very well maintained, clean and everyone is very friendly. The park owner is very nice and helpful and takes care of any issue that may arise. It’s a nice shady park with a very nice laundry room. I am a single woman and I’ve never felt unsafe here. There is a train that runs through the park unfortunately but if you’re planning a longer stay, you do get used to it very quickly, I don’t even notice it anymore. The park is pet friendly and I love that but everyone is very respectful about their animals being on leashes, not being unattended and cleaned up after. I highly recommend this park.
Jun 01, 2024 · Katherine O’HandleyLove this place. Rent is cheap. The neighbors are friendly and the property manager is very humble and kind. Great place to live or just stay for the weekend.
