Brass Bell Marina and Campground Introduce
For local users in Michigan searching for "camping near me" that offers more than just a campsite, Brass Bell Marina and Campground, located at 5106 Dundas Rd, Beaverton, MI 48612, USA, presents a unique option. Combining camping facilities with a marina, it caters to those who enjoy both land-based and water-based activities. Reviews from recent customers offer a glimpse into the experience at Brass Bell, highlighting both positive aspects and areas where improvements could be considered. To gain a comprehensive understanding of this location, it's essential to analyze these reviews objectively.
One reviewer expressed a general positive sentiment, stating, "I love this place and it has a cool cup." While brief, this comment suggests a positive overall impression and highlights a minor, perhaps memorable, detail. It indicates that at least one visitor found the atmosphere enjoyable and appreciated some of the offerings, even something as small as a souvenir cup.
Another reviewer provided a more detailed account, starting with positive remarks: "Clean and friendly." These are crucial aspects for any campground, indicating that the facilities are well-maintained and that the staff or people at the location are welcoming. Cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and hygiene of a camping experience, while a friendly atmosphere enhances the overall enjoyment and sense of community.
However, this same reviewer then detailed a significant issue they encountered with the marina services, specifically the pontoon rental. They rented a pontoon for two days at a rate of $175 per 8-hour day, totaling $375. On the first day of the rental, the boat broke down after only an hour or two on the water due to a starter malfunction. This resulted in the renters being stranded and needing to be towed back to the marina. The total time from being stranded until the boat was repaired and they were able to go back out on the water was two and a half hours.
At the end of the second day, upon settling the bill for the gas used, the reviewer politely requested a reimbursement for the two and a half hours the boat was out of service on the first day, which they estimated to be around $50. Unfortunately, their request was denied by the woman they spoke with. The reviewer expressed their disappointment with this outcome, stating, "Very disappointing." This detailed account highlights a potential issue with the reliability of the rental equipment and the customer service response in handling such situations.
Considering these reviews in the context of "camping near me," Brass Bell Marina and Campground offers a dual experience: a place to camp and access to water activities through the marina. For local users who own boats or are interested in renting them, the convenience of having a marina on-site could be a significant draw. The positive comments about cleanliness and friendliness suggest that the campground itself might offer a pleasant environment for staying.
However, the negative experience with the pontoon rental raises concerns about the reliability of the rental equipment and the policies regarding breakdowns and potential refunds or compensation for lost usage time. Local users considering renting boats from Brass Bell Marina should be aware of this reported incident and might want to inquire about the maintenance schedule of their rental fleet and their policies in case of mechanical failures during the rental period.
When searching for "camping near me" on platforms that also list related services and goods, such as boat rentals, fishing supplies, or local attractions in the Beaverton, MI area, Brass Bell Marina and Campground presents a combined offering. The platform might showcase the campground's amenities and the marina's rental options. However, potential users should look beyond the basic listings and consider any available reviews to get a more nuanced understanding of the overall experience, including both the positive aspects (cleanliness, friendliness) and potential drawbacks (equipment reliability, customer service in specific situations).
The reviews do not provide specific details about the environment of the campground itself. Beaverton, MI, is located near waterways, so it's plausible that the campground offers waterfront or near-water camping sites. Local users might want to inquire about the proximity of the campsites to the water, the type of scenery (e.g., wooded, open), and any specific features of the camping area. Similarly, information about the services and features of the campground, such as the availability of restrooms, showers, hookups for RVs (water, electricity, sewer), fire pits, or picnic tables, is not detailed in the provided reviews. Direct inquiry with the campground is necessary to obtain this information.
No promotional information is included in the reviews. Local users interested in Brass Bell Marina and Campground should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about camping rates, boat rental prices, availability, and any potential special offers or packages that might be available. It would also be wise to ask about their policies regarding equipment malfunctions for rentals to avoid the disappointing experience reported by one reviewer.
In conclusion, Brass Bell Marina and Campground in Beaverton, MI, offers a combination of camping and marina services, which could be appealing to local users interested in both land and water activities when searching for "camping near me." While the campground is described as clean and friendly, a significant issue was reported regarding the breakdown of a rental pontoon and the subsequent denial of a partial refund for the lost usage time. Potential visitors, especially those considering boat rentals, should be aware of this experience and inquire about the marina's equipment reliability and customer service policies. To obtain detailed information about the campground's environment, services, features, and any promotional offers, direct contact with Brass Bell Marina and Campground is recommended.

Brass Bell Marina and Campground Reviews
I love this place and it has a cool cup
Jul 27, 2024 · Liam LimeClean and friendly. One major problem. I rented a pontoon for 2 days. $175 for 8 hrs a day. Total of $375.00. First day we had the boat we were an hour or two into it. Dead on the water. Got towed in and went to the campsite and waited. Found out the starter went out. 2 1/2 from the time we were stranded till it was fixed and we were back out. So then at the end of the second day I was settling up paying for the Gas we used and I politely asked the woman if she would be reimbursing me for the 2 1/2 hrs the boat was broke down. Which would have been about $50 bucks. She said NO. I let it go at that. Very disappointing. Joe Janssen of Cass City.
