You can reach them at (864) 834-8150 or +1 864-834-8150 for inquiries and reservations. This KOA Holiday campground appears to offer a blend of meticulously maintained facilities, a convenient location near local attractions, and a friendly, accommodating staff, making it an attractive option for various types of campers.
As a KOA Holiday campground within the "camping near me" category, Travelers Rest / N Greenville KOA Holiday aims to provide a higher level of amenities and services compared to traditional campgrounds. Customer reviews support this, with one guest who stayed for six nights over the Easter holiday describing it as a "great little campground" with a property that is "meticulously cared for." They highlighted the large gravel sites with concrete pads, which are beneficial for RVs and contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the campground. This feature would likely appeal to local RV owners looking for a well-appointed "camping near me" destination.
The location of the campground is also praised, being just a short 10-minute drive from Travelers Rest and the start/terminus of the popular Swamp Rabbit Trail. This makes it an excellent base for those wanting to explore the charming town or enjoy biking and walking along the scenic trail. The convenience to these local attractions adds significant value for those seeking "camping near me" with access to recreational activities and local culture.
For RVers, the campground seems particularly accommodating. The reviewer with a 42’ 5th wheel toy hauler noted that they could have fit comfortably in almost any site, with ample room to lower their back ramp and access their garage. This indicates that the campground is well-suited for larger RVs, which is a crucial factor for many local users in this category. Additionally, the availability of "cute little cabins overlooking the creek" provides an alternative for those who prefer cabin rentals over RV or tent camping, further broadening its appeal within the "camping near me" options.
The staff at Travelers Rest / N Greenville KOA Holiday consistently receive high marks for their friendliness and accommodation. One reviewer recounted an instance where a staff member went above and beyond by providing safety pins from her personal belongings when the camp store didn't have any, even delivering them to the campsite via golf cart. Such exceptional service can greatly enhance a camper's experience and makes this campground stand out as a welcoming "camping near me" choice.
The campground is also recommended for those who enjoy biking, given its proximity to the bike-friendly town of Travelers Rest and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The reviewer suggested bringing bikes, as Travelers Rest has many families and people of all ages cycling. This highlights the campground's suitability for active local users looking to combine camping with biking adventures.
However, one area for potential improvement, as noted by a reviewer, is the enforcement of the 5 mph speed limit within the campground. Despite posted signs, many people reportedly do not observe it, resulting in dust from the gravel roads coating everything, including outdoor dining setups. This is a factor that local users who value cleanliness and a dust-free environment should be aware of. The reviewer urged future guests to respect the speed limit for the comfort and safety of everyone.
Another guest described the campground as "fantastic" with a "wonderful location." They also praised the "super helpful and professional" staff, the clean and level sites, and the meticulous care given to the landscaping and facilities. This positive feedback, from a repeat visitor, reinforces the campground's appeal as a high-quality "camping near me" option. They also reiterated the proximity to Travelers Rest (just miles away) and Greenville (a 30-minute drive), and highly recommended the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
In summary, the Travelers Rest / N Greenville KOA Holiday offers local users a well-maintained campground with large, accommodating sites for RVs and charming cabin rentals. Its superb location provides easy access to Travelers Rest and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, making it ideal for those who enjoy biking and exploring local towns. The staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The only significant drawback mentioned is the issue with dust caused by speeding within the campground. Despite this, the overwhelmingly positive reviews suggest a highly enjoyable "camping near me" experience.
For local residents looking for a KOA Holiday experience with excellent facilities, a convenient location, and a welcoming atmosphere, the Travelers Rest / N Greenville KOA Holiday is a strong contender. Be sure to call (864) 834-8150 or +1 864-834-8150 to book your stay and inquire about any specific needs or preferences you might have. Travelers Rest / N Greenville KOA Holiday Reviews
We spent 6 nights here over the Easter holiday. Great little campground. The property is meticulously cared for with large gravel sites and concrete pads. Superb location just a short 10 minute drive to Travelers Rest and the start/terminus of the Swamp Rabbit trail. We were in a 42’ 5th wheel toy hauler and we could have fit fine in just about any site there with plenty of room to drop our back ramp and access our garage. My in laws rented a cute little cabin overlooking the creek next to our site and it was perfect. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. I went to the camp store looking for safety pins and they didn’t have any but the staff member at the desk went and got some from her personal stash and brought them to our campsite on her golf cart! Highly recommended bringing bikes of you come. Travelers Rest is very bike friendly with lots of families and people of all ages on bikes everywhere. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5/5 stars is that very few people observe the 5 mph speed limit and it is not enforced, even though signs are posted everywhere. The result is that dust from the gravel road ends up coating everything, including our food when we tried to enjoy meals outside. We just paid to have our rig professionally washed and waxed and it will need another cleaning after 6 days here. I really wish people were more courteous. If you come, please respect the 5 mph speed limit for everyone’s safety and cleanliness.
Apr 22, 2025 · Aaron PolsgroveFantastic campground in a wonderful location. Staff is super helpful and professional. Sites are clean and level. Meticulous care for the landscaping and facilities. This is our second trip here and is quickly becoming a favorite. Miles from the sweet town of Travelers Rest and a 30 minute drive to downtown Greenville. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a must!
Apr 22, 2025 · Wendy PolsgroveReally clean, well maintained property. Woman at the check in was friendly and helpful and our daughter loved staying in the covered wagon. It was quiet and peaceful there. Bathrooms were clean. Only suggestion I would have for the owner is to put some gravel around the fire pit rings as it got kind of muddy after the rain stopped and we were getting a fire going.
Apr 27, 2025 · Jason PleakisGreat little camp ground. Owner keeps up with the ground very well. Each site had a cement pad which was really nice especially when you have pets. Sites in the middle and far end are really nice as they have two people swings and stone fire pits too. Best part is I didn't see any evidence of year round permanent campers. I saw some that may be seasonal, but no signs of run-down campers left there year around for years. There are outdoor games like a giant connect four, checkers, etc. for the kids. The also have a panni g for gems, where you can buy a bag of dirt, place it in the running water and pan for gems. Camp store is very cute with a mix of necessities and other camping accessories...you just might find a little camping gift in there. I am very particular to shower houses. Shower house was not bad, but I have seen better. I say a 7 out of 10. All in all, and excellent camp ground. Our sit was three in from office and it was lovely right along the creek. I would definitely go back again and I highly recommend.
Apr 10, 2025 · Ima ZmanWell maintained and level sites. Staff was all polite and helpful. Full hook up sites everything was in good working condition. Was pre-season so pool was not opened yet so I have no comment on that. Really happy, would recommend and return if in this area again.
