For inquiries and reservations, you can contact them by phone at (251) 955-5257 or their mobile number +1 251-955-5257.
Sun Runners RV Park is located on County Road 8 in Gulf Shores, placing it in a location that offers a slightly more inland and natural feel compared to parks directly on the beachfront. This "in the woods" ambiance, characterized by the presence of mature trees providing ample shade, is a significant draw for those seeking a cooler and more natural camping experience. The park's location is also noted for its convenience, offering a quick drive to the popular beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, as well as easy access to the amenities and attractions of Foley.
According to customer reviews, while Sun Runners RV Park might be considered "basic in amenities" compared to some more resort-style campgrounds, it compensates for this with its natural environment and practical features. One long-term guest who stayed for a month highlighted the value of the trees for shade and the overall "in the woods" feel, suggesting a more rustic and tranquil camping experience. This type of environment can be particularly appealing to those who appreciate nature and a break from more developed settings.
In terms of site features, some sites at Sun Runners RV Park are equipped with cable television hookups, and some offer the convenience of concrete pads for parking. These are valuable amenities that can enhance the comfort and functionality of an RV stay. The availability of concrete pads can provide a stable and level surface for parking, while cable access offers entertainment options for those who desire it. The rates are also described as "reasonable," making Sun Runners RV Park an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers seeking a good value in the Gulf Shores area.
Another significant advantage of Sun Runners RV Park, particularly for those who work remotely or rely heavily on cellular communication, is its proximity to a cell tower. One reviewer specifically mentioned that this was a key reason for choosing the park, as it provided "great cell coverage," which is critical for working from home. In an era where connectivity is essential for many, this feature can be a major deciding factor when selecting an RV park for an extended stay.
While the park advertises Wi-Fi, one reviewer noted that the equipment might not be modern enough to cover the entire park adequately or provide sufficient bandwidth. Therefore, while Wi-Fi may be available in certain areas, guests who require reliable and high-speed internet access should be aware of this potential limitation and plan accordingly, perhaps relying on their cellular data if they have strong coverage.
The social atmosphere at Sun Runners RV Park is also positively mentioned. The long-term stay folks are described as "friendly and nice," suggesting a welcoming and community-oriented environment. This can be a significant benefit for those staying for extended periods, as it fosters a sense of belonging and provides opportunities for social interaction. The positive interactions with other guests can greatly enhance the overall camping experience.
The park's management also receives positive feedback. One reviewer specifically thanked "Betty," presumably the owner or manager, indicating a friendly and helpful point of contact. The personal welcome and assistance in getting to the site, as mentioned by another reviewer who brought a large 36-foot fifth wheel, further underscore the welcoming nature of the park's management.
For pet owners, Sun Runners RV Park appears to be a good choice, as one reviewer mentioned bringing their two dogs. The presence of a "walking trail for the dogs" is a significant amenity for those traveling with pets, providing a dedicated space for exercise and walks. This pet-friendly feature adds to the park's appeal for a broad range of RV travelers.
In summary, Sun Runners RV Park in Gulf Shores, AL, offers a unique blend of a natural, wooded environment with the convenience of being a short drive from both the beaches and the town of Foley. While its amenities might be considered basic, it provides essential features such as some sites with cable and concrete pads, reasonable rates, and excellent cell phone coverage due to its proximity to a cell tower. The friendly long-term residents and welcoming management contribute to a positive atmosphere. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" who value shade, a natural setting, good cell service, and a convenient location near Gulf Shores and Foley, Sun Runners RV Park is definitely worth considering. While the Wi-Fi might have limitations, the overall experience seems to be highly positive for those who appreciate the park's other strengths. The recurring sentiment in the reviews is a willingness to return, indicating a high level of guest satisfaction.

Sun Runners RV Park Reviews
We stayed here for a month and had a great experience. While this park is basic in amenities it makes up for that with trees for shade and an "in the woods" feel. Some sites have cable, some have concrete pads, the rates are reasonable, and the location can't be beat. Quick drive to Foley and the beaches at Gulf Shores / Orange Beach. Another reason we picked this park is the proximity to a cell tower which is critical for us working from home. Great cell coverage. The park says they have WIFI but they don't have the modern equipment to cover the entire park or provide enough bandwidth. It really comes down to what you're looking for. Long term stay folks are friendly and nice. We will stay again next time we're in the area. Thanks Betty!
Apr 16, 2022 · David WatersThoroughly enjoyed our stay! Mrs. Betty welcomed us when we arrived and showed us to our spot. We brought our 36 foot Mobile Suites 5th wheel with me, my wife, youngest daughter and 2 dogs. Concrete parking, walking trail for the dogs, friendly people, and conveniently close to the beach. Definitely recommend this place!
Mar 30, 2022 · William PerrellBeautiful, clean, and reasonably priced place to park with large mature shade trees and lilacs ❤️ level trailer surface with all the hookups and a bath house. Everything you need. Perfect distance away from the busyness of the shore! Will stay again for sure.
Apr 25, 2022 · Natalia MayaREAD before you go. The owner is EXTREMELY rude. Takes zero responsibility for anything. Slumlord even for weekly stays: Everyone speaks horrible of her. Place floods like crazy. Bathrooms are filthy! The shower curtains are probably 10 years old. Laundry room sucks. No background checks or even id requirements. Felons dream. No kids. Everyone stays inside and is not friendly. Worst place we have ever stayed in our life! Bathrooms and laundry close constantly. You are also required to do your own lawn care with a mower. She also blatantly lies. Plan on paying for private internet and cable. Horrible service and neither of those. Total false advertisement!
Jun 20, 2023 · Destany DurazoWe stayed here for a month and it really is one of those spots where you get what you pay for.. the location and price are great. But other than that - the grounds aren’t very well kept, laundry room doesn’t feel or look clean, sites are close together, many off leash dog owners who don’t care about if their dog is running up to your dog.. we are full timers and we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
