According to customer reviews, Starrett Lake Campground lives up to its reputation as a haven for tranquility. One reviewer describes Starrett Lake as "the perfect campground for tranquility!" highlighting the beautiful and quiet lake as a central draw. The campsites are noted to be spacious, providing ample room for campers to spread out and enjoy their surroundings without feeling crowded. A significant aspect of the positive feedback revolves around the campground manager, Barb, who is described as "the friendliest...ever!" Starrett Lake Campground Reviews
Starrett Lake is the perfect campground for tranquility! Beautiful quiet lake, spacious campsites, and the friendliest campground manager (Barb) ever! The restrooms are spotless and makes you forget the lack of running water and flush toilets. What is more rustic than pumping your own fresh cool water from the hand pump? If you love the outdoors, peaceful and quiet, this lake is for you.
Sep 26, 2024 · Diane RoznowskiWe've camped in the Northern Highland American Legion Forest campground for years, and Starette is definitely our favorite. Be aware, though, that it is a designated quiet campground, so you can't use generators, and there are no electric or water hookups, so it may not be suitable for some campers.
Jul 13, 2024 · Daniel DillonBeautiful, clear lake with a small quiet campground. We enjoyed camping here and watching the loons. The bathrooms were new and very clean. The campground is a little out of the way, off of a gravel road.
Aug 24, 2024 · ColleenHighly recommend this facility.Very nice lakeside sites; especially 3 walk-ins (if you"re tenting).Hosts are exceptional team; inviting, industrious, and informative.Close (2 to 10 miles) to many other intriguing WDNR properties.
Jun 13, 2022 · Shain ZeeStarette Lake Campground in the NAHL State Forest has quickly become one of my favorite places to camp! With awesome lake views and the fact that it’s a quiet zone there is nothing to complain about. The campground is diverse with back in and walk in sites and has multiple campsites with water access. This is the perfect place to watch the stars, listen and watch the wild life and make new friends. Camp Host Mrs.Barbara is an amazing woman who works hard to keep the bathrooms, and campground clean. She’s kind and so extremely helpful. Barbara goes above and beyond and you can tell she genuinely loves to be in nature and loves to camp. If you’re interested in a primitive campground with views, friendly faces, and clean facilities this is the place to go!
