Talladega Creekside Resort Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me" in the Talladega, Alabama area, Talladega Creekside Resort, located at 760 Lake Whitland Dr, Talladega, AL 35160, USA, presents itself as a destination with a particular focus on kayaking experiences. While the provided reviews offer contrasting perspectives, it's important for potential visitors to consider both the positive aspects highlighted by some and the concerns raised by others when evaluating this campground for their outdoor needs. Contact can be attempted via phone at (256) 362-9053 or mobile at +1 256-362-9053, though one review notes a preference for text communication.
The environment around Talladega Creekside Resort appears to be conducive to water-based activities, specifically kayaking. The resort's name suggests a location near a creek, and one positive review explicitly mentions kayaking trips originating from the resort. The proximity to "Lake Whitland Dr" further indicates the potential for access to lake environments as well. Talladega is situated in a region with natural beauty, close to the Talladega National Forest, which offers diverse landscapes including forests, hills, and waterways. Therefore, the environment surrounding the resort likely provides scenic opportunities for paddling and enjoying the outdoors. The positive kayaking experience described by one reviewer suggests that the resort leverages these natural water resources for recreational activities.
The services offered at Talladega Creekside Resort seem to be centered around facilitating kayaking adventures. One reviewer specifically praised the "excellent service" provided by Chris and Laura, highlighting their "southern hospitality." The availability of a shuttle service for kayak drop-off is also mentioned, along with "local interesting information" provided during the shuttle ride by someone named Lauren. The resort also appears to offer kayak rentals, as the reviewer noted that the "brand new yaks were very comfortable and strong." This suggests that even those without their own equipment can enjoy kayaking from this location. However, another review raises concerns about communication, stating that the campground "does not answer the phone and only texts back and forth," which could be a potential inconvenience for those preferring phone communication.
The key feature of Talladega Creekside Resort, based on the positive review, is its kayaking experience. The availability of shuttle service and rental kayaks makes it accessible for both experienced kayakers and those new to the activity. The positive feedback about the quality of the kayaks and the informative shuttle service enhances the overall experience. The "southern hospitality" mentioned suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. However, another reviewer presents a less favorable view, describing the campground as "small and not very nice looking" and advising against bringing a camper. This discrepancy in opinions suggests that the primary draw of the resort might indeed be the kayaking services, while the campground facilities themselves may not meet the expectations of all visitors, particularly those with RVs seeking a more traditional campground experience.
Promotional information for Talladega Creekside Resort is somewhat mixed based on the provided reviews. The positive review acts as a strong endorsement for the kayaking aspect, highlighting the enjoyable experience, excellent service, and quality equipment. The reviewer's repeat business and intention to return further serve as a positive promotion. However, the negative review raises concerns about communication and the overall appearance and suitability of the campground, particularly for RVs. The mention of an "not updated" website with incorrect 2025 prices also suggests potential issues with the resort's online presence and information accuracy. Therefore, while the kayaking services seem to be a strong point, potential campers should be aware of the reported drawbacks regarding communication and the campground's aesthetics and suitability for RVs.
For local users considering Talladega Creekside Resort for "camping near me," the primary attraction appears to be the opportunity for kayaking on local waterways. If you are interested in kayaking and appreciate the convenience of rentals and shuttle services, the positive review suggests a top-notch experience. The friendly service and local information provided could also enhance your visit. However, if you are primarily looking for a traditional RV campground with well-maintained facilities and reliable phone communication, the negative review raises some red flags that should be taken into consideration. The description of the campground as "small and not very nice looking" and the recommendation against bringing a camper are significant points for RV owners to ponder. It would be prudent to seek additional information or perhaps even visit the location to assess its suitability for your specific needs and expectations.
The contrasting reviews highlight the importance of aligning your priorities with the offerings of Talladega Creekside Resort. If your focus is on a convenient and enjoyable kayaking experience in the Talladega area, the positive feedback is encouraging. The resort seems to cater well to those looking to explore local creeks and lakes by kayak, providing the necessary equipment and logistical support. However, if your primary need is for a full-service RV or tent campground with appealing aesthetics and reliable communication, you might want to exercise caution based on the more critical review. The discrepancy in opinions suggests that the resort might excel in one area (kayaking services) more than in others (traditional campground amenities and communication).
In conclusion, Talladega Creekside Resort near Talladega, Alabama, offers a seemingly excellent kayaking experience with shuttle service and quality rentals, as praised by one reviewer. The friendly service and local insights provided during the shuttle are also notable positives. However, potential visitors should be aware of a review indicating communication challenges (primarily text-based, with phone calls unanswered), an outdated website with incorrect pricing, and a description of the campground as small and less appealing, with a recommendation against bringing an RV. For local users seeking "camping near me," Talladega Creekside Resort might be a great option if kayaking is your primary activity. However, those looking for a traditional campground experience, especially RV campers, should weigh the reported drawbacks and consider seeking further information or alternative options in the area.

Talladega Creekside Resort Reviews
This is the 3rd time my wife and I have kayaked from Talladega Creekside Resort and no surprise, it was great as usual. We brought our framily that were visiting from Florida and the 5 of us had a Jolly Roger good ol time! Chris and Laura provided excellent service as usual, their southern hospitality freely flowing. The shuttle drive to drop off was enjoyable with local interesting information provided by Lauren and the brand new yaks were very comfortable and strong.Top notch experience*****We can't wait to go again soon!
Mar 05, 2025 · Tommy MoonThis campground does not answer the phone and only texts back and forth. The website is not updated with the correct 2025 prices. It is small and not very nice looking. I would not recommend taking your camper here.
Jan 28, 2025 · Bryan PedersonEveryone is nice and polite. Enjoy Everytime I go . Love the owners they are special people. Been here so many times I can't count. Stayed in the cabin for the weekend I didn't go kayaking because it so peaceful
Sep 08, 2024 · Teresa HarrellMy Wife, 7 year old Son & I went tubing today on 7/7/24 for our very first time here. This was the absolute worst experience that I have had in my 46 years of life. My Wife had the same experience as I. The water was so shallow that when we first got in I had to walk over 300 yards before the water became deep enough for me to float in, then I got stuck again, and multiple times thereafter creating what was supposed to be from what I was told a 2 hour float downstream, became a 5.5 hour float downstream, with no stops. I got injured quite a few times, cut up, scraped up, flipped over and hit my head more than once. There were multiple guest there drinking alcohol, smoking weed, cigarettes, eating edibles, swearing loudly with small children around everywhere. It was absolutely horrible. My family will never go there again. This was supposed to be a birthday present for my Wife, in which I failed her miserably with that. There is so much more negative things that I could say, but I won't. The Staff however was extremely nice, so no complaints there. They get 5 Stars, everything else gets a -1 Star. Extremely disappointed.
Jul 08, 2024 · Jack BlodgettIf you are looking for an outstanding kayaking experience on the beautiful Cheaha creek, this is the place! Great, sturdy equipment, friendly owners and staff, and fair priced rentals make this place a must do! Can't wait to "yak" here again soon❤️
