Temple Bar Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the vicinity of Lake Mead, the Temple Bar Campground, located at Temple Bar Campground, Campgrounds Rd, Temple Bar Marina, AZ 86443, USA, offers a serene camping experience in close proximity to the lake. Based on customer reviews, this campground is characterized by its quiet atmosphere and convenient access to the amenities of the Temple Bar Marina area. While the campsites are noted to be somewhat small, they appear adequate for smaller trailers and tent setups, making it a potentially attractive option for various types of campers seeking a peaceful retreat near Lake Mead.
The environment of Temple Bar Campground is described as "nice little spot near the lake," indicating its prime location for those wishing to enjoy the recreational opportunities of Lake Mead. The presence of "trees all around" suggests that campsites may offer some shade, although one reviewer notes that this might not provide significant relief during the intense summer sun and heat typical of Arizona. The cooler weather experienced during a March visit suggests that the campground could be particularly appealing during the spring and fall seasons when temperatures are more moderate for outdoor activities. The proximity to the lake also implies potential for activities such as boating, fishing, and enjoying the scenic views of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
In terms of services and features directly at the campsites, each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring. These are standard and valuable amenities for any camping experience, providing a designated space for meals and campfires (subject to any park regulations or fire restrictions). The mention of "trees all around" also contributes to a more natural and potentially shaded camping environment, enhancing the overall appeal for those seeking a traditional outdoor experience.
One of the notable conveniences of Temple Bar Campground is its proximity to a store, located about a quarter of a mile away, making it easily accessible by a short stroll. This would be particularly beneficial for campers needing to purchase basic supplies, snacks, or forgotten items without having to drive a significant distance. The availability of a nearby store adds a level of convenience that is not always present at more remote campgrounds.
Another significant feature mentioned in the reviews is the presence of a Restaurant/Bar at the Temple Bar Marina, which was undergoing renovation at the time of the review with an anticipated reopening around Memorial Day 2021. While the reopening date has passed (given the current date of May 10, 2025), local users considering this campground can likely expect a reopened restaurant and bar facility to be available at the nearby marina. This would provide a convenient option for dining out or enjoying a drink without having to leave the Temple Bar area, adding to the overall appeal of the location, especially for those who appreciate having these amenities within easy reach.
The size of the campsites is a point to consider. Reviewers noted that the sites were "small" compared to other campgrounds, but still manageable for a 20ft trailer and "good enough for a couple tents." This suggests that while the sites might not be overly spacious, they can accommodate typical camping setups. Campers with larger RVs or those requiring significant space for multiple large tents might want to inquire specifically about site dimensions when making reservations.
The "very quiet campground" aspect is a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing camping experience. This suggests that Temple Bar Campground might be ideal for individuals and families looking to escape noise and enjoy the tranquility of nature near Lake Mead. The quieter atmosphere can contribute to a more restful and enjoyable outdoor getaway.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Temple Bar Campground offers a combination of natural beauty, proximity to Lake Mead, and convenient amenities. The presence of picnic tables and fire rings at each site ensures a basic level of comfort for cooking and enjoying the outdoors. The nearby store provides easy access to supplies, and the reopened restaurant/bar at the marina offers dining and social options. The quieter environment makes it a potentially attractive alternative to busier campgrounds in the Lake Mead area.
There is no specific promotional information provided in the reviews. Local users interested in camping at Temple Bar Campground should consult the official website for the Temple Bar Marina or the Lake Mead National Recreation Area to find information on current rates, availability, reservation procedures, and any ongoing promotions or special offers. It would also be advisable to check for any updates regarding the restaurant and bar facilities at the marina.
In conclusion, Temple Bar Campground near Lake Mead offers a quiet and convenient camping option for local users. Its smaller but well-equipped campsites, proximity to the lake, nearby store, and the reopened restaurant/bar at the marina make it a compelling choice for various types of campers. While the smaller site sizes should be considered, the overall peaceful environment and access to amenities suggest a pleasant and relaxing camping experience in a beautiful setting. Local users are encouraged to check official resources for the most up-to-date information and to make reservations in advance, especially during peak seasons.

Temple Bar Campground Reviews
Very quiet campground. Sites were small. but for us. no problem with our 20ft trailer.
Dec 27, 2024 · Sharon ChaviraDid a little recon trip for future camping trips. Nice little spot near the lake. Came out in March so cooler weather. Sites are a little small compared to a lot of other campgrounds, but good enough for a couple tents. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Trees all around, but I imagine may not help too much under the summer sun and heat. Store is about 1/4 mile away, so easy stroll. Restaurant/Bar being renovated with anticipated reopening Memorial Day 2021.
Mar 10, 2021 · Slumdog GumpA wonderful little gem of a campground! We were there in early March and there was only three other campers.Plenty of shade with eucalyptus, Olive, palm and oleander bushes throughout the whole campground. Makes every little campsite nice and cozy. The water is quite far away these days, but accessible and the well-stocked Marina store will have just about anything you could need. This is the first come first serve campground, but I've heard a rumor that this may change. But for now, don't tell anyone cuz I want to keep this one a secret.
