You can reach them by phone at (559) 784-1500 or +1 559-784-1500 for inquiries and reservations. This introduction aims to provide local users with a detailed overview of Tenmile Campground based on the available customer reviews.
Based on the customer feedback, the environment of Tenmile Campground is characterized by a smaller, more private setting. One reviewer notes that there are "only about 5-6 campsites per campground," which they found appealing as it provides "a little more privacy & quiet." This suggests that Tenmile Campground offers a more secluded camping experience compared to larger, more crowded campgrounds. The location in Hume, CA, strongly implies proximity to the natural beauty of the Sequoia National Forest, likely featuring picturesque landscapes, towering trees, and opportunities for exploring the surrounding wilderness. However, the same reviewer also points out a potential environmental consideration: the quiet, secluded nature of the campground may "draw in more bears since there's not that much people," recounting two instances of bears walking into campsites on separate occasions. This highlights the importance of being aware of and prepared for potential wildlife encounters when camping in this area.
While the reviews do not explicitly detail all the services and amenities available at Tenmile Campground, some inferences can be made. The presence of a "camp host," Ronnie, who was described as "very knowledgeable about the area" and provided recommendations on local attractions, suggests that there is on-site staff available to assist campers. Typically, campgrounds offer basic amenities such as designated campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. Depending on the specific facilities at Tenmile Campground, there may also be access to restrooms, water sources, and potentially trash disposal. Given the smaller size mentioned in the review, it's possible that the amenities are more basic and geared towards a more rustic camping experience. For a comprehensive list of the services and amenities offered, including details about water availability, restroom facilities, and any specific rules or regulations, prospective campers should contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers.
A key feature of Tenmile Campground, as highlighted by a reviewer, is its smaller size, offering a greater sense of privacy and quiet compared to larger campgrounds. This can be a significant draw for campers seeking a more tranquil and secluded outdoor experience. Additionally, the presence of a knowledgeable camp host, Ronnie, stands out as a valuable feature. A helpful and informative camp host can greatly enhance the camping experience by providing local knowledge, assisting with any issues, and ensuring a smooth stay. However, another significant feature, or rather a point of caution, is the potential for increased wildlife encounters, specifically with bears, due to the campground's secluded nature and lower human presence. This necessitates that campers take extra precautions regarding food storage and adhere to bear safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. The smaller number of campsites could also be considered a double-edged sword; while it offers more privacy, it might also mean that securing a reservation, especially during peak season, could be more challenging.
For local users searching within the "Camping Near Me" category who prioritize a quieter and more private camping experience in the vicinity of the Sequoia National Forest, Tenmile Campground offers a potentially appealing option. The smaller number of campsites promises a more secluded atmosphere. The positive feedback regarding the knowledgeable camp host adds to the appeal, suggesting a well-managed and informative camping environment. However, it is crucial for prospective campers to be aware of the potential for bear encounters due to the campground's secluded nature and to take necessary precautions. The limited number of campsites also means that early booking might be advisable to secure a spot.
Currently, no specific promotional information for Tenmile Campground is available in the provided data. Campgrounds sometimes offer discounts for extended stays or during off-peak seasons. To inquire about any potential special offers, reservation procedures, and availability, interested parties should directly contact the campground using the provided phone numbers. It would also be beneficial to ask about any specific guidelines or recommendations related to wildlife safety, particularly concerning bears, to ensure a safe and enjoyable camping trip.
In conclusion, Tenmile Campground near Hume, CA, within the Sequoia National Forest, offers a unique camping experience characterized by its smaller size, providing more privacy and quiet. The presence of a knowledgeable camp host is a significant advantage. However, prospective campers must be aware of the potential for increased wildlife encounters, particularly with bears, due to the campground's secluded nature and take appropriate safety measures. The limited number of campsites suggests that early reservations may be necessary. For local users seeking a more intimate and tranquil "Camping Near Me" experience in a beautiful natural setting, Tenmile Campground is worth considering, with the caveat of being prepared for potential wildlife encounters. Contacting the campground directly for detailed information on amenities, reservations, and safety guidelines is highly recommended.

Good camping spot....only about 5-6 campsites per campground which is nice so u get a little more privacy & quiet, but also kind of risky since the quiet more secluded campground seems to draw in more bears since theres not that much people....had 2 bears walk into the campsites on 2 diff occasions

Jul 15, 2024 · Ray GrantCamp ground is good. Camp sites located on creek’s edge, making it easy for fishing. Good place overall.
